Agreed, because it can take a while be OK to just watch the video for a little piece of heaven , even though that's a great song.
Gates has quickly became my top guitarists with “the stage” album
This entire album was basically a tribute to the bands that influenced them growing up, hence the 80's sound. Great call out by you guys. If you want to hear a song that is heavily influenced by classic Metallica, listen to "Shepherd of Fire" from the same album. One of my favorites. Keep killing it, guys.
Much as I love "newer"-ish A7X, I have to give it to their _City of Evil_ album for the quality of music. Less heavy, but more technically complex. "Beast and the Harlot" and "Blinded in Chains" are filthy, and the drumwork in "Bat Country" and "Burn it Down" is insane.
Preach brother. City of Evil is hands down one of my favorites.

@@aerahtv0000 it's really good. But City of Evil was the first metal album I heard so I could be very biased.
“The Stage” is a song that just needs to be experienced because it has so many different music parts. Their best song in my opinion.
The stage was okay for me but Roman Sky blows it out the water

This album “Hail To The King” was done after Nightmare (which was the last album The Rev played on RIP) and the drummer they had was named Aarin Iljay (spelling) and he obviously did not last with the band….

Actually, Rev passed before Nightmare was finished and Mike Portnoy did the tracks for, I know, Nightmare. Arin Iljay was only in for the Hail To The King album then Brooks Wakerman has been there since. 🤘🏼💙🤘🏼

This song in particular sounds like if Aerosmith, Metallica, and Eddie Van Halen did a supergroup
So Far Away and Gunslinger are a different side of A7X, borderline ballads. But Almost Easy would be a great next reaction. You'll not get two songs alike but think Hollywood would like their more mellow stuff. Also need to check out their early metalcore stuff at some point.

Arch Enemy: Deceiver Deceiver is a banger
This song/album has a large mix of ‘80s metal & 60s/70s blues influence. A solid one to help get into the band. For their earlier work, I’d check out Bat Country, Blinded In Chains, Strength of the World, Critical Acclaim, Afterlife, Scream, Chapter Four, Eternal Rest. The list continues for this band!
Bro y’all got to check out “Trashed and Scattered “ from the City of Evil album. Whole album is incredible but I think y’all would really enjoy that song
Doin' Time off this same album sounds even more like Guns and Roses. This entire album is sort of a tribute by A7X to all the bands that have been an influence to them. Hail to the King is one of the very few albums where I like every song and can be on repeat for weeks. It's just that good.

I say that if you want more Avenged, do either 'Bat Country' or 'Beast and the Harlet.' Beast if Heaven is your favorite. Both are from the City of the Dead album where they have a little bit of a biblical inspiration.

The band's name comes from a passage in the Genesis story of Cain and Abel, which reads, "But the Lord said to him, 'Therefore whomever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. ''
Also ''Hail To The King'' Was The First Album Released That Doesn't Include Any Music by James "The Rev" Sullivan. And Arin Ilejay was confirmed as an official band member and his replacement. M. Shadows said in an interview, That the album would sound more blues rock-influenced and more like classic rock/metal like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. So You Guys Are Not Wrong In Saying It Sounds More Classic Style.

If you guys somehow haven’t looked at bat county avenged sevenfold, do it as soon as possible. It’s the song that really put 7fold on the map
Gotta check out This Means War video. It’s from this album. But honestly, you need to check out their “Live in the LBC” concert. GREAT sound, great songs, but most importantly, you get to see the Rev play drums RIP.

Ya'll need to watch the making of "A little piece of Heaven" video. It'll help put everything into perspective. Prior to this album, The Rev didnt write the songs and he was kinda anxious about writing for the group. He did do writing with his other band Pinkly Smooth.
Wdym with "prior to this" Hail to the King came in 2013 and the Rev died in 2009
@@Nightwalk444 prior to their self titled album, the Rev didn't write "avenged sevenfold" songs. The band encouraged him to just be himself and write because he was a bit nervous.

The Stage is an amazing song. Also if you're interested in seeing how A7X kills it in a live performance, I would suggest God Hates Us live at Rock Am Ring in 2011. The song is good and the lead singer absolutely KILLS the vocals.

Beast and the harlot is another good song from a7x. They're one of those bands where you can just pick a song and most likely be happy with your choice, although their earlier albums did have a totally different sound than their later works.
Love some A7X! They sound a lot like one of my favorites and theirs, Metallica. Definitely love to see you react to some Highly Suspect and The Amity Affliction. Also do more Primus & Static-X
