pinning this comment for people to inevitably not read: when I talk about not knowing who the voice actors were, I was specifically referring to not knowing who voiced Zoey, Louis and Francis. The new survivors are pretty easy to find on google. Just pinning this one because this is like 50% of the comments since a lot of people seem to struggle with the listening comprehension of that part.

@@rossgaller960 Used to be super common, but now they’re a rarity. You don’t get much money from Quarters or a couple dollars from the old methods of arcade machines anymore. Most establishments with arcades have it as a *section* to coincide the regular business (could be a hotel, diner, pizzeria, etc.), and to make it profitable, they often lock them behind a dedicated card that you use for the machines that you can put funds into. I think they also manually set the prices for the card readers of the machines, so they might be a bit more expensive to play - though usually by just a couple dollars - compared to what it costed in the past (this is running off of memory from the last time I’ve been to a modern arcade).

The thing I love most about this version is how they built up four new unique characters going into the same exact path that the original four American survivors did, while somehow writing it all from the ground up in such a way that makes sense for the most part: a bunch of exchange students and teachers on a trip abroad getting caught in the zombie apocalypse in a different country. And it works. All this effort... for an arcade game that didn't even last that long. I'm so glad it's possible to mod some of this into L4D2. It somehow made the same old maps feel fresh when you got entirely new folks running through them, bantering with one another, and dealing with the same stuff Ellis, Coach, Rochelle, and Nick did in their own way.

8:09 Wild guess, but I think it's because it's an arcade game. They're gonna tone it down a bit since the machine could be seen by very young people. Though I'm not knowledgeable on how arcade places work in Japan so I couldn't say if it's correct.

It’s funny because I live in the UK and there is an arcade I usually go in with my friends from time to time when we go to the cinema next door. It has your typical arcade machines except it’s split into two areas, one that focuses on your typical quick ticket machines to win prizes and the other are more your arcade shooters and basketball games.
One day I went in to the arcade alone, I don’t remember why I was on my own, I think I was with with my parents that day and they didn’t bother coming in. Anyway there was on game I really liked which was a walking dead arcade shooter and I always played it. Until one day it was removed but surprisingly it had this game in its place. I was so shocked to see a Japanese left for dead game in a public arcade and it was this exact same game you’re showing here. Literally just 4 PC’s lined up against a wall where the walking dead machine was.
I remember telling my friends about it and remembered how it worked so vividly because it was so strange to me that a game I have hundreds of hours in the normal version, now has a Japanese version just sitting (and strangely unplayed) in my arcade. Obviously I played the game when I saw it and was weirded out by the mouse and nunchuck controls but still I was definitely playing it. And yeah it plays exactly like left for dead just censored and on a timer. The sad thing is, when I came back about 2 weeks later with my friends it had been removed with nothing in its place. I think it was there for all of one month before it was removed and I was so sad that I wouldn’t get the chance to play it again but still, I’m glad I got the chance to play it just once.
