I have been waiting for something like this to be done. A country can buy and operate, maybe two dozen (24) of these aircraft at the cost of one F-16 jet. Very little time required to train pilots to fly this plane. So very easy to maintain relative to any jet. There is a company in the USA called “Air Tractor” that has been building and selling a similar aircraft for several countries for several years. 🤔
@@donwyoming1936 Ukraine doesn't control her own airspace though. In general light attack turboprops are a great value and should be purchased and used a lot more.
If EMBRAER could work with P&W to improve the power of this engine, let´s say to 2200hp, this plane would be something to really be scared of. Anyway it is still an excelent machine.
Is this aircraft a proposed replacement for the A10? It loses an engine and main gun but adds an aircrew member. Less range and loiter time and not as survivable. Is it as capable as the A10 but not as hated by the AF brass hats? I really don't know but I am sure some of you will enlighten me.
