While I'm sure Dorkly has a hilarious reason, the actual in-universe reason is that Chell is too badass to give GlaDos the satisfaction of getting a response. (As with real-life bullies and trolls they crave the reaction)

I know why Valve can't make number three, we already helped Half-Life find both parts of himself, making him complete. Sure, he went through some episodes afterward, but Half-Life now wants to be referred to as Full-Life

whoever writes the dialogue for the agent must be or deserves a shot at doing some short film dialogue or something. In each video with the agent, his dialogue is so snappy, witty, rhythmic and intelligent and the voice is perfect. Best animated cameo character on the Tube

The "joke" is that he never speaks in the game, he's a silent protagonist, so there's always this lingering question of what he sounds like, which is what this video is playing off of.

***** Who, me? Dude I played the original Half-Life way back in the late 90's, then Blue Shift and Opposing Force. Then I played Half-Life 2 back in 2005 and then Episodes 1 and 2. In fact, a good year or two before the original came out I was online with my shitty 56k modem connection downloading concept art for the Houndeye, the Headcrabs, the Vortigaunts, and that big crazy underwater ichthyosaurus-dinosuar-looking fish thing with all the teeth. I was all pumped up and excited.

I actually really enjoy the silent protagonist. Dead Space 1, Portal, Zelda, ODST, and Half life.
Something about it helps establish the atmosphere, making it a lot more immersive for me.
Plus all the emotional responses are coming from myself, making it hit a lot harder.
