I reached out to FromCheng to get some more details on the footage that he saw at the Summer Games Fest. He was more than happy to provide the requested info, and even gave us some information I haven't seen posted online yet.
He mentioned in a DM post-interview that supply points would also be returning from Verdict Day, however they do not allow you to switch weapons at them and they are separated from checkpoints. Supply points can be used to refresh repair kits, ammo, and AP.
