Wow this is five-year-old video! I hunted you out because you came so highly recommended for this crown Vic pick up swap. New subscriber so I'll be looking for more.
Impressive how you do that at home. I'll start working on my swap in a month or and i am very glad that i have found you and the FB group. The wiring seems to be the biggest hurdle.
There are so may options on wiring mainly depending on how many of the original truck features you retain. Many of the builders in the group are better on the wiring front than me. I try to retain as much of the donor car's electrics as I can.
What did you find out about the door ajar warning? Can you delete the warning in the ecu or with that obd2 scanner? Love the videos! Keep up the good work!
Sorry for so many questions lately. So I’ve got the back end of my crown Vic apart. I then I did the same cut as you did on the back seat ridge and by the fuel pump. I took off the body mounts in between the cuts and it just won’t come off! Please help! Thanks
I have a 74 that's down to the frame and wanting to begin by converting to the crown Vic set up. Any suggestions on what to do and what to avoid before I begin?
Hello nathan i have 2 f100 a 72 long bed and a 76 short bed i want to do a body swap on the 72 and see how great it drives. My question is i also love the 67-72 chevy c10. Do u think a crown vic full body swap can be done on a chevy c10 67-72 using original cab and firewall ? It has the same wheelbase as the f100 short bed. Can you please give me some info if it can be done. What do u think ?
yeah it's totally do-able with the C10. I wouldn't mind doing it myself. I don't know about cab mounts etc as I've never seen the underside of a C10 cab but give it a go.
@@NathansGarage Hi Nathan one more question will a 2001 crown vic work for a swap on my 72 f 100. I will really appreciate it if u can answer me by saturday 5-16 cause im suppost to go look at one on sat it has a bad transmission but its only $400 and has 126xxx mi. I hope u see my messege in time thanks a lot. The reason i want a cheap one is cause if i fail i dont want to mess up a $1,800 or more car u know.
@@adrianguajardo3408 Yeah an 01 will work. The difference is you don't get the aluminum crossmember & steering rack. The 01 has a welded crossmember ad steering box. On the plus side the track is narrower so gives you more wheel options.
Are there certain years police cars to look for? I have a 67 f250 long bed I want to shorten and swap with a crown Vic. I live in California as well do you still do this work?
Just to ask since you have quite a bit of experience with mating Crown Victoria chassis's to these Ford Truck Bodies, have you heard or seen a 1951 Ford Pick up SWB Truck mated to a Crown Victoria?? I really need some help with this. I just came across a great deal on a 51 Ford Truck, yeah it's running and driving with a late 302 with a Auto trans. I'm interested in doing a full frame swap as these Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis are pretty much in every local sales ad. If anyone out there knows of any information for a 51 SWB Ford Swap please let me know.
Ron Waybright your issue with going as early as a 51 is that the frame rails are the same width if not wider than the sills/door bottoms of the truck. I think this would be a great swap but I’d narrow the Vic frame rails. It sounds drastic but the way the frame is made it’d be easy to take 2 rails of the front and rear at a narrower distance.
@@NathansGarage Thank you so much for giving me this info. I guess another option is to just use the IFS along with a driveline from a Crown Victoria. My first question and I got a quick answer. Thank you. Love the videos, great work.
do you have the truck to put this under? there is a short box bumpside for sale in oregon city for 1500 on craigslist. not sure where your located. for some reason I thought you were in washington state
if you want cruise for your 06 based truck, all you need is a wheel with the buttons. the ford dealer can turn the cruise on. check crownvic.net for details.
Hello Nathan, love your vids! I'm in the process of doing the same thing and hope you don't mind me adding a plug to your channel. I do have a question: at 10:05 you mentioned the someone makes a tank frame or mount. Do you have that info? I did away with all of the cars sheet metal and need to figure out what I'm going to do to mount my tank. Thanks!
AC is working in the truck! Hell yeah man good stuff
one man wrecking crew, love your video and attitude
You’re amazing man super helpful with my project 3rd time I’m watching this video series keep it up brotha!

This is giving me a hankering to get into my 57 Viking project, drop it onto a 90's Dodge 3500 long frame, low n stretched.
Are alive young man ! How's its going ! Look what you started 5 years ago

At 8:26, those damn Brit immigrants, there goes the neighborhood.
Yup...that's how it goes...
i got an idea if its wider running boreds hide the rails as running boards
Which title are you using to register the truck ? Crown Vic or the truck title ?

Any crafty ways on getting those rear body mount bolts out by the trunk??
How do you “plug” the gas filler on the Vic so I don’t set off a bomb while cutting? Thanks

Post up all you pics & info plus questions, on Frame Swap Faction on Facebook. Tons of good helpful guys including me :)
Where did you get the crown vic from? Looking for a parts car for mine. Just wondering if there's a cheap place to find them that I'm unaware of.
I use Craigslist, Facebook marketplace & OfferUp.
Hey I need the front bumper cover and passanger side fendor. would you sell them
How many hours does this take to do from start to finish ?
The door ajar switch is in the door latch inside the door

8:00. Do that in the UK in a contraption like that and you are nicked Sonny! 😱
Britain definitely seems to have got a lot more strict since I left.

You can't say something link that & not post a link! lol!. I'm in LA but short beds are stupid expensive down here so a trip may be in order :)
Ahh...just found it. Needs to be trailered so a bit far for me. Thanks for thinking of me though. Any help's appreciated!

Hello, how well will this process work with an 1963 f100 stepside
Head on over to "Frame Swap Faction" on Facebook. There are about 3 or 4 builds on slick sides going on over there.

...anything's possible!

This latest Vic I got has cruise & I'm probably going to go with the old truck controls on the next build so I'll swap this in! Thanks for the info!
I enjoy your videos but I feel sorry for your neighbors. LOL
I have a 77 ford ranger short bed and im considering the crown vic swap out
Go to Frame Swap Faction on Facebook. You can get plenty of pointers over there.
