    I worked at the plant that produced the Crown Vics, in St. Thomas Ontario, Canada. I watched the last one roll off the line in 2011. It was a white body color with the police interceptor package. I believe it was sent to Saudi Arabia. Everyone who worked on that last car singed the frame, chassis, under the door panels, basically anywhere not visible to the customer. If someone ever found it and took it apart they would find hundreds of signatures of the people who built it.

    This is probably my favorite car collection I've ever seen. What's even more impressive is they are all in pristine condition, I can't fathom how someone can keep up with that many cars. People in this guys NY town have to be asking him all the time if they can buy cars off him. The rust would've ate these cars up long ago under years of normal use.

    Awesome collection I recently lucked out big-time. My friend's grandfather passed away we were cleaning out his house I looked in the garage and I saw a crown Vic I'm like what you going to be doing with that he's like I don't care give me $500 and it's yours. After I cleaned off like an inch of dust lo and behold I found a 2004 LX Sport. 77000 original miles. Platinum color the monochrome paint scheme really makes the five-spoke rims pop. What I really like is how many young guys come up to me and admire old-school Detroit iron instead of the import tin-can fart knockers 🌝

    Over the years I’ve had several Thunderbirds, Mustangs, and other cars, but I still miss my 1992 blue on blue Crown Victoria. Needed a car in a pinch about 1996, bought this from a friend of a friend after his grandfather passed away. It had something like 12,000 miles on it and had been garaged. Thought I’d keep it six months or so, kept it four years. I was only in my 30s and friends teased me about my “grandpa car“, but I still really enjoyed it. The day I sold it I knew it was a mistake to let it go.

      Hi Mike, My 1987 Ford was purchased used from Crowley Lincoln/Mercury in Bristol, Ct. in June of 1988, one of two they had on their lot. The one I chose was in Sand Beige color the other in White. Both were former Ford Executive cars and were equipped identically except for color. It was my understanding that Ford routinely allowed their executives a new car every year and turned the used ones out to the dealers for sale. My 87 had 18,000.0 miles on it when purchased and the white car had 21,000.0 miles on it. Both were well equipped with most power options except for cornering lamps and power antennas with only the drivers seat powered. Thanks for the reply.@@mikeclassing5263

    These were such great police cars. If Ford would have kept the body the same, but added the 5.0L Coyote V8, either the 6 or 10 speed transmission, and an AWD option…these would continue to remain a very competitive cruiser.

      Cleetus likes worn out vics

    • @kd5inm
      @kd5inm Год назад +2

      Cleetus appreciates a nice CV too. He gets the worn out ones for racing. It gives the worn out ones a second life and popularity by racing them, otherwise they would end up getting crushed and turned into a chinese fry pan.

    Beautiful collection! I love the Matlock-esque 88-91 at 14:31. I had a 91 Grand Marquis a few years ago. I foresee another Panther sometime in my future.

      My neighbor was our Police Chief.
      City fleet was the open-rear wheel Caprice. He continued sourcing open wheel "cop looking" a few years after the closed wheel design. But alas ultimately they became obsolete/ undesireble for law enforcement conversion for a plethora of reasons.
      The CV met the same fate? but a great value for a grocery getter. But mainly for seniors grocery/ church. No dealer will take one in trade no matter the low miles unless you accept petty cash as trade-in.

      I saw only one in the video. If you look closely it is built into the red tail light and looks darker red but actually blinks amber. I think it’s a silver one I spotted in the middle or toward end of the video.

    I've only owned 2 panther platform cars... so far. One was a TC - Cartier Edition that was the personal car for the owner of the Lincoln dealer in Nashville TN. The other is my current commuter car - a PB7 built during the last month of production in 11. It was originally ordered for a Sheriff in Indiana and never had a cage and was full carpet and cloth seats with a CD player. Love the car. Ford really dropped the ball when they stopped making a durable police Interceptor. So glad this man collected the iconic CV fleet with clean examples. It is a treasure trove of the last mass produced body on frame full sized sedan which will always make drivers over 40 years old lift their foot off the gas pedal.
    Oh... funny story about when I was driving my "Elwood" back from Indiana when I bought it in 2014. I set the cruise at 70 mph and had a line of cars behind me and no one would pass me. Also, one morning when I was going to work I stopped to check on a car that had slid in a ditch and the driver abandon it. A deputy pulled up and asked me if I had called dispatch. I just looked at him and said "I'm not a cop."
    Long live the CV.
