I’m not sure but I lived in Southern California for 9 years and lived in San Bernardino County, Moreno Valley to be exact. Cali has some of the craziest laws for autos and road!
So, don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but the flex fuel emblem wasn’t standard till 09, so the fact that an 08 or older would have said emblem, was because 1, the fascia was from a newer donor car; or 2, someone specifically went out of the way after the fact to get one and put one on. 06-08 did not have an option to order that way. The green hoses were at one point oem, NOT specifically newer models, but apparently “updated”; but I’ve only seen a handful out of hundreds, if not thousands of newer Vic’s, that did have the green ones. I’ve seen them with the motorcraft tag on them still. So whoever made them to be rebranded by motorcraft was a thing. I THINK a buddy in north jersey scored a set of green ones. The alternators are actually made by Mitsubishi if you know a thing or two and can take one apart. Same bud has taken a brand new one apart and all throughout the components have a Mitsubishi logo on them. As far as pedal adjustment/tc, standard is nada. Both were options. I’ve seen plenty of plain Jane cheap as they come 2011’s, means nothing. It’s like saying “oh all 2010’s got heated mirrors” okay, then why didn’t my 2011 have them? Flex fuel refers to a gasoline-based fuel that does not solely consist of gasoline, but instead a mixture of gasoline and another fuel - most commonly ethanol. Cars, trucks and SUVs with engines that accept blended fuels are commonly referred to as flex fuel vehicles. The gas/ethanol mixture is known as E85, and according to the U.S. Department of Energy, there are more than 4,200 public E85 stations in 44 states across the country. For E85 fuel, ethanol amounts to 51% to 83% of the blend, depending on the time of year and geography. In this context, you can think of pure gasoline as E0. Flex fuel vehicles can run any mix of these blends up to E85.
