Same, supposed to arrive on the 25th. Never owned a Volkswagen or a "new car" so Im excited. Haven't driven a manual in years and cant wait. Automatic has gotten boring to me and feels like driving on autopilot. The model my place has coming doesn't have the cold weather package but thats ok. I didn't want to order a custom one and wait forever for it.
@@CrunchyTire You will not be disappointed. I have owned many Volkswagens and Audis before. They are awesome cars and the manual just kicks it up to a totally different level. It's a good to get one while we still can. I don't believe they will be around for much longer. Audi already got rid of them in US. Volkswagen might do the same. Enjoy your car. ✊
I like this setup very much. Now if only it had virtual cockpit as an option that would be great. It would probably be at the same price point as the SEL but I'd take the stick shift any day.
I'm glad the manual transmission is available in the R now. Personally I don't think an automatic should even be offered in cars like this, it makes no sense! Now 2021, I'm seriously thinking about getting one or maybe I'll wait for 2022 and hope they offer it with just a bit more hp.

Best review of this car currently on RUclips, good job 👍. In some ways this model is a poor man's previous generation Jetta GLI. Obviously less power, but many of the same features and looks (such as the wheels). I think a Jetta R would be great to have as an option.
I have this exact car color and all. Except I have the automatic. But I can move the shifter to the side and tap up or down to shift manually. I love my car!
I bought my very 1st VW in recent years. And it’s also a stick, I’d travel from Detroit just to buy a Jetta from you. The only thing that sucks is that the current VW Jettas that come in a manual are the higher end models... Enjoyed the video, you REALLY know your stuff!💯💯💯💯

I got a 2021 R-line manual for less than $22k with 12 miles. They're really slick with their models. They figured out what people liked and put it in the more expensive models.
Not an option in the manual for obvious (or maybe not so obvious…) reasons. Had a buddy that modified his manual car to function with a remote start, but he’d HAVE to leave it in neutral…or else. Let his dad drive it once; he left it in 1st out of habit, used the remote start, and the car drove itself slowly into a parking barrier rail.

Not true; the manual transmission is available on lower trims as well…like the S model mentioned in this video.
I would consider a drive from Detroit to buy from based off this as well.

Really love the car. Manual is a plus. Cost is fair. I will have to decide if i can go back to a sedan after driving small crossovers.
Volkswagen needs to make a Hot Weather Package that includes an A/C that actually works.
