There are those of us who enjoy the technical nuts and bolts of a vehicle. This channel quenches my palate. Great review and keep on "Giving it the Beans! "
Fun to drive because you can use all of the horsepower all the time, looks pretty straight forward to service too.
Condensed reviews that stick to the tech details are great! And I love that you review everything along the spectrum too - fancy cars and trucks and stuff are great, but beyond $40K is out of reach for most people for a car, so it's always nice to see the affordable stuff get an honest review too.
I have a 2019 Jetta with a manual and I use it as my daily for Uber, and my only complaints are the turbo lag and lack of IRS. It feels super underpowered when you have 4 passengers and luggage in the hills. It also has a weird feel in the corners when loaded fully, but minor complaints. I absolutely LOVE the MPG. I'm usually getting 33-35 city and I push the boost all the time.
Great stuff. The 6 speed manual being available astonished me.
I bet that most of them in Europe is going to be in Manual, Jetta is cheap and auto transmission is still seen as luxury here.
@@M1chlos I believe this Jetta is an Americas-only model.
@@bobrusk5501 it's basically a Bora.
Wow... a modern car that still has a stick! Love the idea of a commuter tinker tuner. 👍
I had one of the first Mk 1 2 door Jettas that we available at my local dealership. My first choice at the time was a BMW 2002, but the price, handling and looks made it a favorite. Had it for 12 years, even had the opportunity to drive it on the Autobahn in Germany. Pegged that 85 more than once!
I like how you did the scores from the driver seat. It fits the style of this channel. It would be cool if you could also add a wrench score to rate the ease to work on ability of the cars you review. Just a thought. 🙂
Thanks! Good idea
Yeah. I concur. Or maybe "The Nuts" score? Indeed.
Need a Pita score for how difficult (PITA) it is to do an oil change. Wouldn't buy this car because it is probably a PITA to get to the oil filter even after removing the undercarriage cover.
@@bcwatson0 I have one. The oil filter is very easy to reach once the cover is off. Much better than the early-2000s Hondas I used to own, for example.
ya. that would be cool.
This thing is definitely a dying breed. The car is a unicorn itself too.
2 Sarah videos on a Sunday, well tonight just got so much better!
"Welcome. Let's talk about goo!"
This is what I subbed to this chanel for.
Jettas are really comfortable too. I drove from Columbus to St.Louis and back one day for work (about 15 hours on the road) and could still walk when I got home.
I have a GLI 6 speed, and I absolutely love it. The most fun car I have ever had. Thanks for giving such an in-depth review.
Excited for this channel to grow. Keep it up Sarah.
Great review, gee a VW entry level, back to the roots of VW , they all were entry level.
A fun 6 speed, 4 doors , comfy seats hood basic transportation.
Thanks Sarah, give it the beans!! 🐧
Great format, Sarah! And I’m with you… entry level trims make it fun and affordable to modify. Cheers! 👍
I really like this channel, great review Sarah 😁👍❤️
"Ahh it's made in Espana, that's why." 2:27 I'm sold. That's how I got my 2022 Jetta SEL. Thank you, you're genius and you're loved.
Great video. Love the nuggets like “ shizer” you throw in! Lots of them remind me of my days in the Air Force
This was such a comprehensive and well done review. Definitely enjoyed. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Sarah for a concise and informational review!
Nice! Dig the unique spin on car reviews. Keep'em comin'!
One of the best car reviews I've ever seen 👍👍
Keep it up, Sarah! Love this new channel!
Your reviews rock,Sarah!
Love this channel. Please keep it up. These are things I look for after I watch other style reviews. Again as a NH resident I always look for corrosion protection ,under body strength etc.
Sarah can go full geek on these reviews. Yesssss!!!!
This new channel is dope Sarah! I know it must be hard to make content both for your main channel and GITB; so I don't mind a longer wait. Your content is always on point, really appreciate the work.
Base level trim reviews gives me the feels for *OLD* school Top Gear ... like before Captain Slow and The Hamster joined Clarkson old school Top Gear. 🥰😍🥰
Like your new channel Sarah. Looking forward to more future content here.
Sarah, I’m a SnT OG… and enjoy this new channel a lot, great addition. I like this nuts and bolts look on things, especially it truly shows me what I’d get for the money spend. You’re doing a stellar job in making tech interesting and informative!
I like the new format over here. Great job!
Thank you Sarah! Loving the content!
Great review and l like that your keeping your format. Have fun with it and do what interests you.
Immediately subscribed. Very helpful! Props to your golden content
Squirrel (mosquito)!
I always enjoy your reviews, and I love how easily you are distracted by a bug, or a bird, or a lizard, etc.
Thanks for continuing to put out great and entertaining content.
It is the first time to watch one of your videos. I like your light scheme of the video. Shifting between the the workshop then the cabin of the car when reviewing, oh i really loved that. the way you presented the underside of the car and the information you narrate is catchy and informative. Keep shooting more reviews.
Yay Dats Auto!..😉 btw am I the only one seeing baby blue because of the sun shining off Sarah's blouse which is reflecting on the Jetta's interior seats.
Great review and great car for sure! I loved my Mk4 2.slow Jetta, I still miss it today…
You always make great videos Sarah. Love the sense of humour. Keep up the great work!!
This is a great format.
Best car reviews on RUclips. They were before and now that you are digging in even deeper, these are head and shoulders above everyone else. No one gives details on the things that matter. Like no oil drain access panel. A small thing but you called it out. "Like using a Windows 95" That's the kind of detail that is super helpful. Love this new channel!
love you passionate about entry-level vehicle! please review more of them!
I like the new format of the car reviews. Much more of your personality in them. Better flow, starting on the rack and ending with the drive.
Excellent review. I love the details and perspective you provide. Keep up the awesome! :-)
I would say your a better model than the thing your reviewing
What kind of review starts out underneath the car the best kind of reviews🙂 One of my favorite things a couple dealerships that I drive by often Have those drive up ramps on there lots two show off their cars I don’t think you’re really supposed to but I’ll go underneath just to check them out….. Great channel Sarah I wish you all the best🐧🐧🐧👍
Fantastic review. Lot of tech stuff described. Even so called tech guys don't describe like this. Super. many of these tech stuff are heard for the 1st time in a youtube video
Manual in a 4 door, didn't know that existed anymore...cool
Corolla SE sedan too
Honda Accord comes in manual …
Compliments on your content in general and this review in particular. I was dreading the day you reviewed my Jetta but I was pleasantly surprised. You were fair and kind to the brand and I appreciated my first look underneath my own vehicle! I hope I don't think about my car every time I clean my ears from now on. :)
I liked it!
Liking the different format👍👍
I too, love these cheap fun to drive cars. I currently own a 2009 Honda Accord with a K24 in front of Honda's wonderful 5 speed manual. It might be interesting to "tune" one of these cars to see how much raw performance you can get out of it.
Been a VW fan since 1968...Ausgezeichnet Sarah!!!
😆YAASSS More Sarah! Love you🤗 Love the channel!
Hello Sarah of the interweb, loving the channel ✌️
I had a Golf mk7 with the 1.4T manual and stage 2 tune + downpipe upgrade. 205hp and 290 nm. Pretty quick, I was really happy with that car.
VW/Audi has great tuning capabilities with simple bolt ons and tunes
Great review. I bought a 2017 Jetta 1.4, 5-speed, and can echo most of your sentiments. Great on gas (over 40 mpg), and enough torque to make you smile.
Great video Sarah, I like your new channel. I see you have 1 troller with the downthumb 🙄
Thank you for rating my car.
Great review Sarah.
I finally got to watching this, I'm all about the Jetta. 😍
Cool channel, great review! Love the idea of having normal cars for the masses on the lift. Mini JCW please!
Gracias ! great channel and Powerful Pretty Top in blue.
Likable RUclipsr, knowledgeable, informative, and great/fun reviews. Well done. Cheers/ B
I really like the format of the channel. I rather like to know what potential a vehicle has like the build of the engine. I like to know how long the engine would last and how easy it would be to work on it. Of course it is not always possible to get all the answers but you are very much helping me making desicions in looking for a new car.
Affordable car reviews! Finally!!
We have a 2018 Jetta auto 92000 miles it’s been flawless since new
The Mk7 Jetta is growing on me but I’m really enjoying my 2014 GLI and it’s had no issues, so I’ll hold on to it for a couple more years.
Abbreviated review on this car was cool. Like the new channel.
Wow...I like your new channel. I'm an auto mechanic, so the technical features of a car are very interesting to me. Best wishes for your continued success on You Tube.
Great review!
I wish all car reviews would be like yours., powertrain is what really matters.
Love Love Love Love it this channel will be great , you are great at talking tech , great fun personality your are trully one of a kind , again love it
Still for $22 grand you would think they would put some Bridgestones on it. Great channel Sarah. Well done.
Learning so much ❤
the frabric type material is old shredded clothes and bakerlyte heated and formed to underbody panels also used as sound deading road noise
Agreed! I think the MK V Jetta is the best looking one. I miss curves with no hard lines on cars.
Noticed coolant overflow tank looks almost identical to your Audi's unit.
Love the Jetta.
It probably is, maybe a little change in mountpoints during time.
It's VAG - why to change/redevelop things that works solid already...
@@vasek987 exactly my 2010 A3 SP basically has the same engine as 2017 Tiguan.
You know this review is legit when the Penguins appear! Penguin supported. Penguin approved.
Ok, i don't have enough of sarah 😍
Love the new channel.
Hey Sarah, Heard some german language, awesome!
Great review!👌❤❤
I love your channel keep on giving it the beans!!
2019 jetta 8spd is my car and i paid $16500 for it new. quiet, auto so no turbo lag and as sarah pointed out, short shifting this car is a blast. 46 mpg phil;a to atlantic city at 80 with the air on. got 59 mpg in vermont but only 24 around town in the winter. one of my favorite cars ever,,,56 and 59 porsche, 70 2002, 74 bavaria, 504 505 turbo, 2 thunderbird turbo coupes, alfa milano, an original mini, 77 rabbit, lancia zagato, 2 galants and a lancer, scion xa, 2 kia fortes. a stick kia rio is more fun to drive than a stinger. yout teviews are tops.
Cool, Review. I’m Glad You said its a different channel. So I Subscribed just now. Looking forward to the the new Technical reviews. I Like VW’s.
ps; Like You, Too
With a rear sway bar I bet this car can lift a the inside tire in a curve, because of the torsion beam suspension. It's always fun doing it... Great review Sarah, to the point. The entertainment system is smaller than in my 2019 Alltrack. I have a 8 inch screen. Probably because of different dashes between MK7.5 Golf and MK7 Jetta.
When I saw you driving that red car over the hill on a deserted desert road, for a moment I was afraid there'd be an old, dirty tanker truck coming up behind you, blaring it's horn.
Volkswagen Jetta.
We actually don't have them in Europe anymore, but it looks like a nice enough car.
I don't know about the Jetta manuals, but you can put the Audi A3 linkage on the GTI. It shortens the throws. Costs next to nothing and can be done by any DIY person in about 30 min.
keep the cars coming.
I had a Mark IV 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg. Miss it.
Great Review Sarah !!! Our friend has a 2019 Jetta with the 6 speed and I wasn't impressed with drivetrain the whole driving experience felt like is was driving a rubber band. Granted the fuel economy is impressive the rest of the package just fell short IMHO and I like VW especially the older Rabbit's and Golf's they were great cars with fun to drive spirit the newer stuff has lost that fun to drive appeal in my book unless you move way up the into the R Line and GTI variants.
You should do the 2021 Elantra and 2021 Elantra N line! Nice video
Would love to see you review the VW GLI 35th anniversary edition. It’s such a beauty of a car and so well rounded. Is on the MK7 GTI Platform with the DSG and ea888. And was the first GLI to come with dcc after the refresh.
Great video
I'm glad this is not another how many drink holders an the size of the glove box video as other channels.
hi Sarah. you could also do classics on this channel, review them compared to the competition at the time and maybe compared to today? there are a lot of cars that set the bar high and still haven't quite been matched in value per dollar today.
Sarah squared on Sunday, nice!
RPM hang is also tuned into the cars engine computer for emission.
Can't wait for the golf
Nice review! I always wait with anticipation for the unexpected gag. The "wheelspin" on the lift was hilarious. The cinematography in the drive through the green desert was stunning too.
