    2:39 Reminds me of my bike-random spider. But usually on my bike, I get those nasty scorpion looking one that jump.

    Wow, a lot to remove and get at everything. I don't own a multi but enjoyed watching this. Would hate to have to change oil in the field. Hello from Northern Ontario Canada. Hope thing settle down a little and we can travel next season.

    I don't take the skid plate off or modify it. I just let it tilt on those back pivot bolts. You can still get to everything. The oil is just harder to funnel.

    no longer need to remove center stand on newier models. especially the 1260 DVT engines. great video as always.

    I did the "skid plate mod" to mine, it saves a lot of time and allows you to change the oil while the bike is on the center stand. You cut a slot just big enough on the rear mounting bolt holes to slide the skid plate on and off of the grommets. My 2011 has an aluminum factory skid plate but i would think you could do the same to you carbon fiber one as it looked quite thick.

      Good idea...not sure I want to cut into the carbon fiber. I'll leave that up to my sister.

    Most arduous oil change I've ever seen, glad I don't have to go through that!

    Unfortunately I have to remove the crash bars toooooo on my 2016 Enduro 1200. Being that that is the case I’ve always had the Duc of Newport Beach, CA do the job. However, I need to stop being so lazy and do it myself. Txs for the vid.....

    On the left side of the fairing, there are three hoses with a metal wire harness. How does that fit together?

    Ducati manual states you should also put some sealant on the threads of the sump plug.

    I'm a little skeptical about the siliconization of the micro filter cover in the crankcase!! should we wait for a while for the silicone to harden and then pour the oil or can it be done immediately after assembly? greeting

      I was wondering the same thing

      The Ducati dealer I got my oil from included a black o-ring that is about the size of the opening for the micro filter.
      I am considering just using it as I have the same concern. Add to it last time the dealer did the oil change they got some silicon up in the micro filter which came out when I pulled it.

    What were torq specs? You didn't post. What oil and grade did you use?

    • @2WR
      @2WR  Год назад

      I did post the torque specs in the video. Use whatever oil it calls for in the owners manual for your application.

    Hi i'm wrting from México City, so helpfull video to change oil to my Ducati Multistrada 1200S 2014 but i have a question for you and I hope to help me to solve my little problem that I find it, the peace (screw) on engine below are fuck up, I can't remove it because it no longer fits to Allen's tool. Can you give me some advice to put it out? This is the first time that change the oil because I bought it some months ago

    • @2WR
      @2WR  3 года назад +1

      You’re going to have to buy a screw extractor tool. You basically drill through head and then the other end of the extractor will pull it out. You’ll need to replace the screw tho because the head will be destroyed in the process.

    My pre filter plate keeps leaking even after I've let the threebond liquid gasket set overnight. I'm getting fed up.

    A paddock would be easier to remove the center stand, is that the skid plate design flaw shud have a bracket running down from the rear attachment to clear the center stand? Jz my tots.. 😅

    • @2WR
      @2WR  3 года назад +1

      We have a few rear wheel stands but not one for single-sided. I’m sure we’ll get one soon enough.

  • @deepwood4
    @deepwood4 3 года назад

    Wow! It's meant to be changed on the center stand. And then it's not in the way.

    • @2WR
      @2WR  3 года назад

      Yes...it is still in the way. You'll notice I started with the bike on the center stand at the beginning of the video and then it cuts to it on the side stand. There was no way to remove the rear bash plate bolts with the center stand in either position.

    4.1 LITRES.. yeah right. i bet you all the bikes have 4 litres in them. No way i am buying a litre extra just to put 100ml in it.. just a scam from ducati.
