This is an interesting review focused on the personal motives of the characters as seen from an outsider's perspective. I can see this point of view is just as valid as the ones focused more on the depressive side of the characters.
Thank you so much for this wonderful Analysis. I realized that I had a friend like Justine one day: everything was soo intense - the good times and the bad times.
Such a nice movie, very beautiful.
Thank you for watching and giving your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the video:)
This is a piece of art and as such no interpretation should be subject to question however I am finding a lack of understanding about the real challenges have depression, bipolar, existential cognitive dissonance, et al.
Whether anyone agrees with you or not, I certainly saw both sisters in a different light after watching your review and listening to your take about the film. Well done!
Great analysis! Thank you ❤
Thank you🙏
I'm sorry that you apparently had very bad experiences with people who took you for granted and made everything about themselves. However, being depressed and being narcissistic is not even remotely the same thing. Believe me, people with depression don't enjoy the attention on them. Everyone looking at you wanting you to be happy while you are simply unable to do that is one of the worst feelings in the world. I wish people would finally start to understand that "cheering up" is simply not something a depressive person can do, and that most of them would give an arm and a leg in exchange for not worrying their loved ones. Not for a single second did I get the impression in this movie that Justine secretly liked being made a fuss over. But then, the reading of the movie probably differs wildly between people who have experienced depression and who haven't. I sincerely wish that you never will.
Depression isn't a choice. But emotionally manipulating and bringing down those around you is. Justine would love your statement because it would feed into her victimhood. Depression is not a "get out of jail free card" for bad behavior.
You are being very judgemental. And toxic at the same time.

completely misses the point. Unnecessarily filled with unnecessary takes. 3/10 review
I feel those who defend Justine are just feeding their victimhood. Yea, shes depressed its terrible, but it doesn’t justifying hurting everyone else around you
It makes me angry that some people think depression is an excuse for awful behaviour … it’s not . I have severe depression and anxiety , but would never beat my horse to the ground , have sex with a stranger on my wedding day or enjoy all the attention my obnoxious behaviour is creating . I believe Justine did enjoy the attention while I would do anything just to disappear from sight ‼️. That apart I did enjoy the film , both female leads were excellent ably supported by Kiefer Sutherland as the narcissistic John . The scene where Justine can not lift her leg to climb into her bath was one of the most accurate depictions of severe depression I’ve ever seen on film . If you have been unfortunate to have been there you will know ‼️
People like Justine "enjoy their lifestyle"? Are you actually serious here? When children don't get their needs met when growing up, that pain comes out in adulthood. It's not as easy as just "growing up", snapping your fingers and becoming the perfect wife and mother. Furthermore the male apologist angle of this video is extremely frustrating and kind of grotesque. Claire's husband is quite literally the biggest coward in this entire film. Plus speeding up the video to make their voices sound infantile is a really nice touch to your terrible take on the characters and the film as a whole. I don't think anyone is claiming that Justine's behavior is ok or justified: it just is because she is severely depressed. It's not up to you to fix her. Your misunderstanding of depression is quite obvious as is your lack of empathy. My eyes have rolled so hard into the back of my head that I can't see.
agree.
i felt completely disrespected by this analysis based on how much a sympathise with justine because of past deep depression years and attempts at su1c1de
