  • Pothos are beautiful, easy to care for and most importantly Super Easy to propagate. Here are some tips to help you propagate.
    🪴Take a healthy cutting, cut just below a node, add rooting hormone and stick in the soil about 1” deep.
    🪨 Use propagation mix with good drainage, equal parts of coir, peat and perlite will grow a 😃 Cutting.
    💦 Cover with glass or plastic to retain humidity. Water thoroughly when the top layer of the soil is dry.
    💡 Place in medium indirect light. Don’t let them dry out.

    no need for rooting agents. just cut at each node and stick them into the soil and they will grow just fine.

      They will also grow in water. I have some right now growing in a jar of water. You can transfer them to Solara when you see the roots or you can just keep them in water all the time just change the water every four or five days.

      @@yasdisfalydydttmyes , honestly it’s a waste of money. i’ve personally never used it but i’ve propagated many pothos & grew huge plants from small cuttings. it’s may work for like Zz plants because they are slow growers but you don’t need it for pothos.

    Do you have a video what you use to make GOOD soil? The bags of soil i buy from the box stores always has nats in it and its always hard to get rid of them. Plus it seems like something is wrong with the soil the plants seem to die, especially seeds. Let me know when U do do a soil video. Thank you.

      @tobyjohnsontubs 11 месяцев назад +8

      For the gnat problem you can put soil in a bag and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it should kill them. Now for a good draining soil for indoor plants I use orchid bark,perlite, and an indoor house plant mix some people like to use leca to but that’s up to you. And a good pre-made soil a lot of other people like to use is sol soils. Hope this helps❤

      Not exactly.....I just laughed. Grab a bit of pothos with a node or 2 on it along with some leaves, whack it in a jar of water, or a vase because watching the roots grow each day is fun. Top up the water when needed and completely wash the plant and the growing container semi regularly. About once a month add a little liquid fertilizer (about half a tspn) for a week, then start again with fresh water.......done. No need for dirt ever. Also no risk of root rot.....ever.

    Why did you compress the soil? That is just gonna make it harder for the roots to work their way through

    • @monstrofarm
      @monstrofarm  2 месяца назад

      Keeps the plant from falling over and a little compression doesn’t hurt.

    • @sometimesicryinthebasement5121

      @@monstrofarm i get that but that’s why i don’t compress until the plant is already in the soil. If soil is compressed too tightly then it won’t absorb water like it should. Our plants love a good drink!

    • @israelfleming3159
      @israelfleming3159 9 месяцев назад

      Just do it in water nodes will grow roots (not aerial roots) and when you do multiple in dechlorinated water they release a rooting hormone to each other speeding the process up without using anything to induce roots. By putting the node in water it swells and sends the single to start growing. Water change every few days to keep bacteria from building up in stunting/eating the new root growth until you have enough to start acclimating for the transplant process to soil 💕
