I've found that if I add little bits of soil/peat every few days when the roots of cuttings in water are about 2+inches, it helps the cuttings prepare for the time when I finally place them in soil.

i have also found that adding about a tablespoon of soil into the water encourages root growth!

I am a new propagater, I have found while in the water, if I take the cutting and trim off a bit of the stem every 2 days, I get roots popping on half by day 3, I was shocked, I was going to buy some root hormone stuff, but doing it this my way is working! And the rest have sprouted by day 5, I only had to throw 1 away out of about 25 in my 1st batch. And the soil trick I am going to do tomorrow thanks to the comments above mine! I was wondering if that would help and you all have done it, and it helped you said, So Thank You!

Thank you for the video! I really appreciate that you showed us a plant that is already settled and developing new growth. Every video I watch about plant propagation seems to be the same: the person prepares the cuttings, puts them in water and then transfers to soil. And that's it. No one ever shows what the plant will look like in X weeks or months after being transferred to soil. Your video was very helpful!

I am experimenting with growing my plants with the roots hanging in my aquariums. The plants love the fish water. My Pothos I had to divide. Both plants have long roots growing down into my tank. My Spider plants have experience explosive growth and are growing through the top and side slats of my aquarium cabinet. They have also many runners hanging over the front of the tank. My daughter now wants a start off of mine, so I'm propagating hers now. Just found your video and thank you for sharing Erica!! I've been propagating my Pothos plants the same way but I always love seeing other people's methods and their progress just in case I've missed anything new to learn lol!! And YES, I've heard that placing Pothos cuttings do release a hormone that helps other plant cuttings root and it does!!🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼

You did a perfect job explaining! I am new to plants too & Panthos plants! I agree with growing plants hydroponicly too! I like the look of the root system, watching it grow! I am starting a plant from soil to a 5g fish tank. So,I hope they adjust fine!? TC❤😊

you are so sweet and made me feel like as a nubie I would do well enough. talking about your mistakes and experiments made me feel more confident! I have two VERY LONG pothos, The Twins, and they are desperate for a trim. thank you! 😛
