As a Jet fan, I fell for that okey-doke too, until the regular season started. I'm actually rooting for him to be successful, but he's had enough time to show whether he has something or not. Also, most of those throws were short passes with 1 or 2 intermediate ones. Trust me, Bo Nix will be the starter sooner rather than later, but I really hope Zach proves me wrong.

In 2021, in Zach and Saleh's first year, Jets defense gave up 29 points a game, so, Saleh's first year, the defense let everyone down. Yet it a QB league.

Jets fan here. He looks a lot more comfortable in the pocket, moving more and stepping up instead of just holding the ball, a lot of those check downs too the easy plays he missed constantly in NY. Glad to see he’s getting the basics down, he’s got all the talent in the world just needs to work on not messing up the easy plays and taking what’s given

Statistically speaking, his release wasn't bad, top 40% in the league, where most "fans" will tell you he held the ball longer than anyone else. Like I say, a QB success will be determined by the situation they are put in. Mahomes was drafted by the Giants or Jets, would not have a Superbowl title at all, ZERO!!!!! Drafted by the Chiefs and you see a whole better situation. Zach drafted by the Jets was doomed from the start. Stafford went from Lions to Rams bam Superbowl. Geno finally put into a better situation, and now is a respected QB. Prior to that was a laughingstock. Steve Young played for the Buccs, and was trash. Poor guy was running for his life. Went to the Niners, BAM Superbowl. Guys the media suck at evaluating QBs they truly ignore the situation they are in, and bad mouth them. Please remember football is a team sport, and the most important part of a winning football team, is not the QB, but the players in the trenches. Then the QB, because the QB can't do a damn thing without a solid line and solid supporting cast. The same on the defensive side. The solid D-line and the rest of the defense suffers. Great D-Line can actually mask the holes you have a defense. That is how important it is.
