Mozart's “Eine kleine Nachtmusik”...Perfect!
It’s my fave!!!
Took me embarassingly long to figure out what it was lol
"The next girlfriend can deal with that..." had me spitting water all over my computer!
Hahahaha same!
Light, informative, witty… and the pay off made me laugh out loud! Thanks Daisy!
The four-string guitars they play in the background are lovely.
ah yes, G D A E Tuned, very extravagant, and played with the new innovative pick called a "bow" and they are archtop too!
i just love where this chanel is going
I’m so glad!
@@DaisyTempest I didn't know you wore Chanel.
@@craftsmanwoodturner 😂👍
Just a thought from an OCD senior from the States, the top cut out portion of your guitar rack could be angled forward to make better parallel contact with the guitar necks as they rest as you did with the bottom cedar piece. After all that, use a branding iron and burn your company logo into the rack and then market them on your website. 3 guitar, 5 guitar and then a jumbo for the guitar hoarders in your audience. Just a marketing idea. :) Cheers
He is a lucky boy. That is a gorgeous guitar holder. And to think that it's all hand built...... Nice video, thanks Daisy.
It takes a good dose of self-confidence and courage to put your work on RUclips - it takes the same to leave fickle wankers. Good on ya for both 👏🏼
"Famously the best screws have zero banter" 🤣🤣🤣 Beautiful job, and appreciate the tip on cedar as a moth repellent!
Love the humour! And also, great job, what a nice gift!
Awww thank you!
If my girlfriend did that for me, I'd take her to a spa weekend at The Grove Park Inn .. or at least offer to do so someday! Beautiful! I do think the felt was a necessary addition, though, for something that nice. Keep up the great work!
I’ll pass this comment on… ;)
@Mj323_bb You simply did not get the message that she sends to him.
I will translate it for you: "Don't you dare own more guitars than fit in this stand!"
Right.
Can’t wait to see what you build for the next boyfriend.
Me too!
@@DaisyTempest I love your dedication to your craft-it shows in the exceptional instruments you design and build.
I’ve been a furniture designer and maker for a couple decades, and a guitarist for even longer. I’ve always tried to use mostly exotic woods that I’ve either harvested or reclaimed, and it’s great to see a woodworker with a similar appreciation for beautiful wood. (I will soon start posting original songs to my new RUclips channel and I hope you’ll check it out. Let you know.
Be well,
Todd
Girl, I absolutely love your sense of humor!
gorgeous. brilliant. beautiful. awesome. also, the guitar stand is quite exquisite 😊
How could you touch a man's beloved Strat without asking permission? 😂😂
My wife has full access to my Strat and my Tele at all times
@@cgaristo2112 my wife has access to the front door if she dings one of my guitars.
Guitar so iconic it's even a default guitar emoji 🎸
Guitar so iconic it's even a default guitar emoji 🎸
The fact that this rack is handmade by a working luthier...in The U.K. makes this EASILY a 3 or 4 thousand dollar guitar rack. Had you put the logo washer in it and signed it and numbered it 1 of 1, it would have been even more!! This video was sooooo much fun 😊
"Have you touched my Strat"!
He's a keeper.
I love the care and detail you put in to all your projects.
Thanks for the video, you make me smile. I love your wit and woodworking expertise. Beautiful guitar stand.
Is this the Nigella Lawson Guitar build channel?
Whether it is or isn't, how lovely to bring a little laughter into the world.
good stuff, keep on being Daisy. hysterical!
Thanks for uploadibg! I really appreciate the video. I've been mulling over ideas for my own guitar storage.
Super-nice shop with comprehensive dust collection. I'm envious.
The humour is great he is so lucky, love what your doing
Nice build and very considerate. Daisy, you are a keeper!
Very good - entertaining and you show your sense of humour.
That is a beautiful stand! Years ago, I built something similar although I didn't use nice wood - I had some plywood scraps around that were just the right size and shape for what I had in mind. I wrapped all points of contact with grey carpet like they use on speaker boxes. More recently, I've built a second rack for cases, several acoustic absorption and diffusion panels and a desk. It's a lot of work, but so worth it!
That's a beautiful guitar holder. A great gift!
Nothing more esoteric or ethereal than hand plane work, Brilliant holder and even more brilliant gesture, the best gifts are made from the heart.
You are very skilled. I really enjoy your videos and from the very start of your channel, I’ve enjoyed your great sense of humour!
The perfect gift! And a sample of great woodworking (no surprise there really). Well done!
Very lovely. I like all the brass screws. Nice touch!
Nice work Daisy - thanks for the video - Cheers from Canada
Those star headed screws who offer a lot of torque are quite appropriatly called torx screws :)
Absolutely lovely guitar rack. It's the touches like the felt and the screw caps that really make it stand out even more.
Love it, great job Daisy!
Haha, what a great gift! I do like the design of the rack, I bet it would work well for banjos as well!
Love the Mozart. Excellent choice....
Awsome to see you made one of these! I made one during the lockdowns in a very similar design, I feel good guitars should be shown off from a nice wooden rack.
love your sense of humor!
You made me giggle throughout this entire video 🤣. Fantastic project, fantastic video as usual Daisy! Well done ☺️
Love the content, beautiful stand .🎸🎶👍
Beautiful - I need a stand like that! Now if I only had a guitar...
Beautiful thoughtful gift.
Yes, star heads are great. It seems there is less rounding out of the heads if there are more points on the star. Brilliant looking and a must for any guitarist.
Daisy Tempest - a mans guitars best friend 😊🙏🏼
Daisy, as ever a beautiful build. As for your bench cut a thin wedge and hammer it in. It does work on my bench. Have fun, ps please leave more time for onscreen comments some of us older types cannot read fast. Thank you.
I sure hope he appreciated it. I was a wonderful gift. Beautifully hand made and practical. I would have been grateful.
"The most beautiful gift he will ever receive from me"....at best, the second most beautiful gift after your good self, Daisy, never under sell yourself
hahahahahahaha - love it! Nice CNC machine too - that baby is really gonna up your game for sure.
Love the editing and the joke bits. Great to see that CNC getting some work too :D
Those are the same screws I just used for a bolt on neck. But they were machine screws and I used threaded inserts with them. SUUUPER nice.
I know it's different than what you normally do video wise, but this was such good fun, hope you do more every now and then!
I also have a black p-bass with tortoise shell pickguard. Love that look!
Beautiful reck! Well done. I believe those are called Torx head screws. Cheers!
Delightful. Thank you.
Love this! Might be a good idea to add some padding to the body rests, so no scuffs occur. Also did you finish it with any oil or wax?
Beautiful guitar stand. Given the circumstances, would it be correct in referring to this as a "last stand"? ;)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That reaction was totally hilarious!
You are so talented...I'm a luthier from Argentina and I love your videos
Nice design and choice of wood.
"the next girlfriend can deal with" the rubbish ones... 🔥🔥🔥 Beautiful work & highly entertaining commentary (as always)!
In the US those screw "cups" are known as "finishing washers".
You touched his Strat!? I bet it's gone out of tune. 😂 Lovely guitar stand. 👏🏻
Well you’re welcome to visit my studio down here in NZ if you need a change of scenery.
Cheers 😎🎸🤘
We call it a torx screw here where I live in the US, but star tip screw is also acceptable. Nice job with the stand Daisy. Looks great.
Nice job !
Awesome video!!!
Stunning rack, Daisy! Beautiful work!!! 😃
I love your sense of humor! 😂
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Very nice. Does that boy realise how lucky he is?
Great work, just been getting round to using my pocket hole jig this could be a great little project for myself My stand could do with an upgrade as well
Quedo bellísimo el soporte!! Buena música, humor, amor...que mas puede pedir uno a un video de RUclips ; )
Saludos🎸🎶🎵🎻
🥰👍 This made me giggle... and hope your bf appreciates it. 😅
"O brave new world,
That has such people in't."
from The Tempest by William Shakespeare
Keep on rocking in the free world kiddo!
Instead of a drum sander, we use an appropriately sized flush cut router bit on a table router to separate the part from the stock. We use 1/2" DIA ( 12.7 mm) spiral down cut bits starting in a thru drilled pilot hole and so can comfortably use inexpensive 3/8" DIA (9.5 mm) flush cut router bits for removal. The 1/4" (6 mm) flush cut router bits are a bit pricey but work very well for the 1/4" spiral bits. The secret for using the 1/4 cutter pairs is to program an 0.015" (0.4 mm) oversized offset for your roughing multipasses leaving 0.030" (0.8 mm) above the desired finish cut web (typically 0.050" or 1 mm thick). Then single pass the finish cut to the web depth. The roughing/finish cuts combo yield clean (strata-less) outside edges and just enough 'kerf' for the flush cut router bit.
I love no banter screws! Great stand & funny video!
Very nice piece of work. And a good design too. I’d have had to design and try to make that several times over, and still maybe cock it up. Having said all that, I’d have to design a rack for storing synths.
Super nice build Dayz-E
There is no middle ground for this. Or after seeing that beautiful work, he asks you to marry him; or if he don't appreciate it.....well, everything has its end. :)
Beautiful and simple work. I'm going to take it as a reference for the furniture I need to make. Shortly, the third guitar that I built for myself leaves the paint shop; and I no longer have a place to put them.
Yay! More Hugo!
I think I could listen to Mozart while watching an CNC machine do its little dance for hours.
I'd also love to move my collection into some lovely, solid wood racks and off of the metal and foam ones they currently reside on.
I'll add my voice to the chorus that your BF owes you big time.
if he was even remotely serious.. after the great stand you made him..I would give him up to the next willingly ..LoL You are the sweetest woodworker ever ! :- ) I'm very picky with me woodworking projects but watching you build a guitar makes me want to up my game ! :-)
Lovely jobly as always ;-)
Torx head screws are the future! 😊😊
Interesting that you noted the torque you could apply to star-head screws, because here in the states they’re called Torx screws.
The British are famous for their dry humour.
It looks like you have the same drum sander as I. Extraction was also an issue for me. I looked at the volume of air per minute requirement on the specs of the drum sander and found an adequate free standing metabo extractor for sub £200. You have to assemble the the extractor out of the box though I have a feeling that won’t be a problem for you😅
Would you be interested in doing a video on hand plane sharpening or your general planing technique? The shavings you got off that cedar were great, and you made it look easy.
I just read that back and realised how sad it sounds. But I’m keen to know how you get results like that!
Put a diagonal across the back opposite corners to make it more sturdy.
The lighter side of life eh! Great creativity there keeping those guitars in safety.
Pretty Nice!
That’s a Torx head screw. 😃 I’ve made some solid body electric bass guitars from cherry. It’s a lovely wood.
I need some kind of rack for guitars at my workshop…
Oh no, don't touch the Strat!!! 😂😂😂 Awesome stand!
Been wanting to build that type of stand for some of my "extra" guitars but couldn't get my head around the design. I had done a spinning 4 guitar stand before using a newel post as the center piece but a 7 guitar rack like this would be perfect for the orphans. What was the spacing on the neck cradle? 4 or 5 inches between cutouts?
Nice! Maybe you could offer matching custom stands for your guitars?
I love you left the fastenings visible and got the prettiest ones you could find.
American cherry is usually darker, is European cherry always that light? Also American is photo reactive, it darkens in light over time. Does yours do that?
Great videos of precise work and clean design.
Daisy, you are a jewel!
I like his response so much! 🤣🤣
By the way, no need to add some soft material between the guitar and the wood (base side)?
I’ve been thinking lately of making a multi-instrument stand, and yours is simple and pretty. Is diagonal stiffness an issue?
You know what would be nice: a humidor cabinet. Cedar wood. Keep those guitars nice and humidified. Personally, I keep my guitars in their cases.
No guitars were harmed indeed 😂
