Daisy, I am an old man and absolutely love your videos. My wife isn't in to wood working at all but she watches your videos with me and enjoys them as much as I do. I hope those negative people NEVER change who you are and what you do. They just have to show up everywhere kind of like rats, cockroaches or mice. It would be fantastic if someone could invent a RUclips pest control spray to get rid of the pests that have nothing constructive to say. Be you, we love who you are and what you do.
I just imagine them being far more miserable than me and that really brightens up my day. :3
You seem to be collecting old men! I’m another old man who enjoys your videos. I watch a variety of luthier channels and can’t help despairing over the waste that can be avoided with a scarf joint and stacked heal. Lovely book matching on the back; something else you share with Gabi Reti. And the best way to confront the doubters? Head on by by doing what you’re so obviously good at!
This old man agrees.
I can’t think of a worse insult than suggesting that you are a deepfake. Speaking as a guitar, violin and bow maker myself I find you videos inspiring and love to watch other craft people at work.
Another old man/player/collector here. You're doing great! Unfortunately, I now own every guitar that I wished for in my younger days. Not lusting for another guitar is something hard to get used to...
Daisy, you never need to explain. If a person can't feel your passion, then that's their problem.
I suspect you want to "feel" something other than her passion. Unless that is what the simps call "it" these days.
@@benburnett8109Such an example of thoughtful introspection and insight, thank you for your valuable rubbish comment.
I’ve spent the past twenty years as a full time furniture maker and occasional boat builder. I know little of guitar making but it’s so enjoyable and educational watching a skilled craftsperson at work.
It sucks you have to deal the trolls. I’ve been lucky to have had some amazing women apprentices.
While every aspect of an acoustic guitar is vitally important to the finished instrument, the neck is (to me) the most magical. It is, more than anything else, what determines if it will be a joy to play - or a beast to be wrestled. Beautiful seeing it come together. It's easy to tell how therapeutic it is for you, making it, as it's therapeutic to me seeing it done. Thanks, as always Daisy, for brightening my day!
LOVE your vid Daisy, inspiring and so comforting that there are young people like you taking up the artisan arts and honouring tools and wood to create something from raw materials. You're something real in a world of fakers and pretenders, Keep it up!
I’m simply amazed at how well everything was recorded, on top of how masterfully you work in your studio. Amazing!
Daisy, anyone who has ever built anything with their hands can tell how real you. You treat your work with such love! The trade off on RUclips is with everything you share it takes a piece of your soul. Beware
Classical music, guitar making and psyduck. It is clearly, unfiltered passions. Beautiful to see!
I also tend to listen to classical/baroque/renaissance music while doing hand work. Soothes and keeps me on task. And love the googly eyes.
When I need to do something complicated and accurate, I watch one of your videos before hand, to reframe my disorganised mind into a semblance of the craftswomanship that you so effortlessly practice. For this woman, thank you.
Daisy, you are an inspiration to me. As someone who's going from late teens to adulthood, I look up to people who dare to do what they like. Keep doing it!
Nothing beats classical when studying or woodworking. For me the most peaceful and relaxing piece of music has to be Concerto Nr. 21 in C major
you can't fake the honesty of hands that are used to work, they tell the story of the graft they've done.
I'm 57 and have been building guitars since before the turn of the century (21st) and people still sometimes says, "You built this? From scratch?" So don't let the bastards get you down.
The camera setup on all of your closeup shots is really nice. The focus and lighting make it easy to see exactly what's happening.
Hi Daisy. You wake up every morning, go to your workshop and go about, horning your skills and making beautiful guitars. Fakes can't do that. I can feel your passion just by watching your videos. You are a fine luthier. Many can play the guitar, few can make one.
Great video Daisy 😊
Good Day Ms. Luthier, If I may I have a suggestion for you to think on. Do not listen to those people who instill self doubt. I hav watched your videos to some extent. If anything validates your abilities it is your tools. You have extremely sharp chisels and planes. That is nothing a faker can achieve. Hells bells not many even know a sharp tool period. I am a luthier and studied under a master luthier here in Nova Scotia for 6 years. I knew the basics by that time and continued on opening my own business. You have significant skills and knowledge. Keep on that path. My path led me to restoration and repair as I made no money from building. It is a conjested market and my hope is that your dreams come to fruition. Cheers, Lex Luthier
Loved the shots of the shavings. The non-woodworkers among the audience may struggle to understand the deep almost spiritual satisfaction that comes from seeing a sharp edge peel off a layer of wood that seems almost atomically thin but I get it. It is the product of engineering and craft in perfect harmony. The rest of the video was great but those were a bonus.
I’ve been watching videos about neck building. I’ve made dozens myself and I’m curious about other people’s techniques. Most videos show someone building their first neck which is fine, but….
I love everything about your video. It informative. It’s funny. I enjoy the music. I’ll be watching more in the future. Thank you so much!!!!
That was so enjoyable to watch! Thanks. Your work is spectacular. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product.
I appreciate the humor--and the amazing quality of your work!
Your videos are filled with knowledge and skills. Always a joy to watch you at work.
Love your videos. And your humor & grace. Keep up the great work.
This video is so enjoyable to watch! Excited for myself to get into this, idk how to explain but the way your videos are formatted makes the whole process seem very calming?
Thank you for the new video!
Good way to start the day, having a Daisy vid to watch - inspires me to go get on with my own guitar build 😊 Thanks for taking the trouble film these and brighten my day 👍
This evening as settled down I watched your video. What a joy watching talent at work. Your control of your planes and especially chisels is exemplary. I re-wound and watched some bits three times over. 🎉
Amazing work! I could watch these videos all day
My word, this was amazing. I love the close-up shots. I've made a few kit guitars, which was fun, but to see a luthier in action using planes and hand tools is an art. Love your channel. Thanks!
Brilliant channel, I love your videos. You’re so talented, and the chilled out vibe of the videos is a really nice plus as well.
Hi Daisy - wow so much detail going into a neck ... it was a real education to see! Thank you for making this video. I enjoy all of your videos - the pure art and craft of making such beautiful instruments.
Having tried to scratch build an electric guitar a couple of times myself, I have nothing but respect for the skill and patience that you've shown in building this guitar
Speaking as someone who actually looks like a clumsy deep-fake in photos, I enjoyed this display of woodworking mastery immensely!
From one woodworker to another……you are an inspiration! Does my old heart good to watch your videos! Keep up the good work!
Nothin but admiration for you, young lady. Love that number 7 . Plane
Inspiring! Your photography is equal to the woodworking as well; some lovely macro shots of shavings, etc...
THANK YOU❤ It's 3am, can't sleep, looking for a luthiery video to pass the time. Your video is just a little jewel. Insightful, educational and just a pure joy to follow along on your journey. Love Elevate tools. PS: All the while watching, I was looking over your shoulder, spying your shop...perhaps some rainy afternoon you can take us on a tour! Subscribed. Thanks again.
Having watched a lot of guitar building content on youtube, I can safely say this has been the most enjoyable. Kudos on the handy work (not that i know much about woodwork!) and the video!
Watching your process is an open door to tranquility. The results are exquisitely elegant. Bravo.
My new favourite channel. Your skills are more than apparent and your love of the craft is infectious and a joy to watch. I also love the modern-looking shape you chose to style your bodies and headstock showcase. Just...my new favourite channel and Id so love to own one of your instruments one day.
Amazing work. I love how you combine different wood tones and grain patterns.. Also, the metal accents look great.
Great video, Daisy. Anyone who has done any woodworking/engineering/guitar work can instantly see and appreciate your crafting excellence. You are an inspiration. Thank you!
I found your videos randomly and seeing this brought a tear to my eye… not because of your amazing woodworking but because when I see guitars I think of my uncle, he majored in classical guitar and when he played it was so clear and crisp that it was beautiful, I remember the day we went to watch him preform It was a miserable day rainy out no one knew where to go and I remember sitting there listening to him play, it sounded like a piano almost. I haven’t heard him play since but I hope some day I can learn so that I can play for him and let him hear what I heard that day
That was such a delight to watch. Mesmerizing and leaves us with a zen like tranquility. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a craftsperaon coaxing a beautiful form out of a non descript piece of timber. And the backing music was perfect. Thank you - just what I needed today
Your love for the wood and the whole proces of making a guitar really shines off the final instrument. It's beyond my budget to purchase one but i really turn 'zen' watching your video's!
I just started watching and love your videos. I’ve always been fascinated by violin etc. making, and the embodied design by trial and error and reliance on glue alone so much.
I really love your music, too!
I've really enjoyed your videos. It's great to see a crafter at work in such detail. Very impressive. Makes me appreciate the complexity of lutherie. I hope I get a chance to play one of your guitars someday! Thanks for sharing.
Never let the naysayers steal your joy. That is some fine wood working and beautiful as well. Love the bit about the googlie eyes on the spoke shave. In my blacksmithing world I've seen them on power hammers. Happiness is where you find it. May yours always be in reach.
Your work is beautiful - and the cinematography too!
Very impressive! I’m excited to see it complete
I absolutely love your work! I wish i had found your channel sooner. I would have totally ordered a guitar from you. I have a good friend here in the states building me one. Love your old school / modern edge way of creating these instruments not to mention you happen to be easy on the eyes. I hope you continue to create beautiful guitars for the rest of your days. Thank you for all the videos.
Those inlays are perfect! So much detail of the woodgrain and it doesn’t have a finished coat yet. Pretty as it is!
The plane work, joining, and patience is very impressive. Beautiful work! Hello from Maine and Thank You!
"Eine kleine Nachtmusik" love the music and the vids. Keep it up.
Great great video, so relaxing to watch you work Your build videos are my favorite!!
Amazing detail. Love the fret marker on the neck, so unique.
Keep up the good work! I always learn something from watching your videos. Thanks!!
seriously though , well done , an appropriate response. Just wish I had all your tools. i like the way your tools are properly used but maintained.
Fantastic video! Loved the spoke shave googly eyes bit, I’m totally doing that😅. I’m super jealous of your hand planes and how incredibly sharp they are hahaha GREAT WORK!
Thank you my lovely! I do love my planes so much…
Highly appreciable talent you got there. God you are so much fun to watch.
Clearly, you are an actual expert in what you do. Having watched several of your videos you clearly have just a tremendous volume of knowledge. Some people just have to throw their sh** at everything. I loved the tonewood comparison vid btw. That was pretty cool.
Superb. Love your work Daisy. Thank you for this wonderful insight.
Another great video, really good to see how and what you do.
Especially loving the soundtrack this time around.
Looking forward to the next.
One day I will own one of these guitars. The care you put into makes each one a work of art.
Absolutely wonderful!
It was a pleasure to watch this video! The relaxed ambience reflects the nature of the work, which I like to think is true for most jobs involving carpentry in a workshop. I look forward ro catching up with your other videos.
Amazing. I always love to watch people that work are amazing at their craft. Love the headstock-sock too.
Good choice in background music. Learned a lot about guitar construction watching your channel.
Gosh, you do such an incredible job. Really inspiring for a young builder!
Very relaxing video. Love watching the process of quality craftsmanship.
Great job! I'm impressed with your use of hand tools.
I’ve just watched your video. Loved it. Beautiful guitar. Please keep posting more videos what ever some idiots have to say. It’s great to see a talented young lady obviously loving her work. Keep it up as so people like myself can be helped with the help of your knowledge. Thanks lee
This is absolute beautiful work. Incredible talent and work on this.
Such great work. Well done!
And fabulous work, by the way. I’m very envious of your training and talent!
Fabulous precise work!
Daisy, I love your videos, your taste in incidental music is perfect for my tastes as well. It is wonderful when you build the guitars in your style. I know that you are such a perfectionist. Please keep doing what you do, I know you will...
I have an old neighbor that builds custom Portuguese Guitars by hand (except for a small wood lathe he uses no other power tool) for some of the most famous guitar players in the country, he knows all the secrets from the wood features to the type of varnish used to produce the amazing sound. A few years ago he wanted to find someone younger to teach his trade, but sadly no one seems to value his art anymore. Every time I go to his workshop I just watch in awe all his amazing woodwork, he does this amazing fine detailed features across his guitars using several types/colors of wood that resemble leaves encased in a very polished glass finish.
I love your sense of humor :) Your work is absolutely stunning!
Always great videos and today I learned something; tilting the straight edge to more easily check for light coming through, which I saw you do each every time. thank you.
It is such a pleasure to watch a craftsperson working their magic. I never would have thought to do the "googlie eyes". Thank you.
Have some on my ‘shop vac’.
All I need now is the workshop to put it in!
It's great that you're doing this job as a lady and sharing the videos with us. I subscribed as soon as I saw the video. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Incredible work!
Daisy! Don’t pay attention to anyone that cannot appreciate your artwork and your obvious skill, talent and passion. You have actually inspired me to eventually become a hobbyist luthier upon retirement (still have some years to go). Beautiful work and I am awe struck by the fine details and love you put into your work
Keep on Keeping on Daisy your Awesome
Excellent video! So helpful to see the order of all the individual steps.
Real hand made guitars!!! Using mostly hand tools!!! amazing
Thank you for sharing your craft! It’s nice to learn what a scarf joint is. Ive heard the term but never knew what it was. Keep making beautiful instruments!
It’s easy to see you’re the craftsperson behind the work, I can tell by your hands, they have a kind of intelligence of their own.
Your work is amazing.
13:33 - Daisy's out here giving the important wood working tips.
Beautiful video. Thank you for making my day better.
Fantastic work. 😀
This video made me happy. I could watch a luthier/classical music video alllllllll day
A beautiful video showing a top level crafts person lovingly creating art.
I am getting back into guitar building again and am very inspired by your high level of skill and your video making craft as well. Since I started building I have remarked that inspite of all of the time since I last built a guitar 29 years ago, there is still no need for a phallus while building. Thanks for expertely demonstrating all the needed tools. Just wanted to add a cheeky thanks from a male audience member who does better work thanks to watching your example.
Absolutely awesome!!!
Daisy, please don't let the negative, small-minded trolls bring you down. To those types of people, I say screw diplomacy and political correctness...Invite them to your shop where you can custom fabricate a wooden device that they may politely (insert verb of choice here) themselves with...Your enthusiasm is contagious and I love it! Your knowledge and expertise are incredible and you have RIGHTFULLY earned the admiration and respect of a large audience...Keep doing what you do best and remember to reach around and give yourself a big pat on the back...Big hugs from an old picker;
Just discovered this channel, great work! You are a very talented person, your woodworking skills are amazing!
Just started looking at your vids. They (and you) are awesome. Real craftwomanship. :-)
Love your sense of humor.
