I totally remember the first time hearing it, Big snowstorm in 1983..I was a kid, whole room lit up (lightning) and thunder. It boggled me because I didnt think that could happen. It's pretty damn rare...only a handful of times I remember it. 1993, 96..and that was multiple times, 2003 The last time I heard it around Philly was Jan 2016, THAT was loud and the lightning strike was 60 miles away. Crazy.
HOPE to hear it tonight with this big Nor'Easter...we'll see.

Why is he getting so excited over lightning and thunder?! The people of the boston suburbs weren't so excited. He must really love "THUNDER SNOW STORMS!

@@pablobaesler3447 depends where you live and how often you go outside in snowstorms really. I live near Boston and have experienced it many times because I go outside and have a lightning app. Most people stay inside and miss it.

@@Mesovorticities that's so cool. I'm from Chile so snowing is already rare and blizzard can only be experienced in the mountains or south.

What caused that thundersnow? What were the conditions that set off that wintry convection in the first place!!!!!!

Rain thunderstorms can get 35 or lower and the rain will be snow but extremely wet though, unless it’s slightly colder.

Nah. For a lot of people like him and I weather is a hobby as much sports or anything. Thundershow is in comparison to like your favorite sports team winning a championship. It’s very rare and amazing to experience
