  • I've had the Phoxx ii v2 for over a year but only used it once. I'm thinking of selling it on but decided to take it out once more to decide whether to "Love it or List it". The first time this year I've been able to get out to wildcamp in reasonable winds and weather.

      Actually I did eventually pass it on to Kitsquad in the hope that someone else would get more use out of it. Good tent but I had too many!

    Just bought a phoxx 11 and I absolutely love it . Easy to pitch and put away and a good price too . I have seen some experienced campers with £ 500 tents and a similar size can’t fathom that out

      It's a great value tent, especially for new wild campers. It certainly enabled me to restart wild camping after 30 years absence! Thanks for watching

    Good to see you back in the tent Roger! I also have a trekker chair, I can't live without it, it's so comfy. Thanks for a great video! Have a nice Sunday😊🐈

    A nice tasty and simple beverage is a cup of Oxo. I always take one with me now. I have a little experience of that area Roger but only the valley. Me and the missus visited Llanthony Priory about 15 years ago. I was very taken with it and recall having a pint in a characterful vaulted cellar there I think 🤔

    • @thewanderingforester
      @thewanderingforester  Год назад +1

      Hi Chris, yes there is a hotel with a cellar bar inside the Priory. There is another Llanthony Priory called Llanthony Secunda in Gloucester set up by the monks from the original when they were chased out of the valley by the locals!

    I do enjoy the local ones Roger. Good to see you up into the Black Mountains - some familiar sight there. Well, done on the pronunciation - these names are all fun. I gotta say you remember your youth well. The detail in that Beacons story was pretty good. Well, a decent camp clag, wind and all. Good going. Mark

      Yes Welsh names are fun, I try my best. I had some good times as a lad in the Scouts - so much so that I'm still a Scout now. Thankfully the wind didn't get to my pitch until about 1am by which time I was all tucked up for the night. Thanks for watching Mark, all the best to you.

    I bought the Phoxx II V2 for a mate and it was a half decent tent, but I can’t say I’m a fan of low profile tents, not enough room to wiggle round in 😂 enjoyed the video buddy 👍

    • @thewanderingforester
      @thewanderingforester  Год назад +1

      Yeah, agreed. Having said that two of my other tents are similar!😂 I've been gradually working towards lighter gear as well and the Phoxx ll is a bit heavy really. It'll go on sale soon. thanks for watching, all the best.

    Glad to see you back out again Roger, that was a nice trip. I have a Phoxx 1 and agree with you about the mesh, it makes it quite drafty. They are good tents though for not a lot of money.

      Thanks John. I think it's a great tent for someone starting out, but I quickly upgraded to something lighter - weight is more important than space to me as I approach my 70th birthday! And yes - it's been a while thank to weather and then a heavy cold. I trust you enjoyed the warmth in Tenerife! All the Best, Roger

      Thanks Simon. OXO seems to be getting more popular as a drink on the hills, I've seen a few people using it. Plenty more stories where that came from - and making more every trip!. Look after yourself. Roger

    Glad you're feeling better now Roger. A good friend of mine purchased a Phoxx last year, however I haven't seen him pitch it in those conditions. Anyway.., great atmosphere, wind an' all! I have to say though... I don't share your enthusiasm for the chilli 😂great chair though!

    • @thewanderingforester
      @thewanderingforester  Год назад +1

      It wasn't windy where I pitched it to start with - that came later when the wind moved round even though I was on the lee side of the hill. Beginning to think I'm the only one who likes chilli!. Good to get out though, whatever the weather. Stay safe out there, Roger

    See with the Spork, it wouldn't have broken and you'd not need a teaspoon haha... but I'm glad you're eating the Chilli Con Carni (as I hate kidney beans)... Poor Phoxx II, you knew her barely well haha (I did think it was gonna be the tent I'd be using when we meet). Good vid, glad you survived alas without breakfast

    • @thewanderingforester
      @thewanderingforester  Год назад +1

      I doubt there is any way I could break the spork you bought for us!. I have a "better" tent for you to use in June, not so much room in it but a fair bit lighter to carry. So taking Chilli off the menu then.. Cheers Mike.

      I think the trick is to not blow the mat up very hard - but I'm still learning. Thanks for your kind comments. All the best, Roger
