I bought this tent because of your review! It was the trekking poles that sold me, I had the Helm 2 previously and this is certainly an upgrade. Im off to Scotland wild camping soon (its Nov 2023) and am fully confident in this amazing tent. Keep going going brother!
Hi, honest question. Why you think Pnacea is an upgrade vs Helm 2 ? I just bought a Helm 2 and I'm couriosu what do you had in mind ? From my perspective (not practice yet unfotunatley, still waiting for the delivery) you can have Helm 2 with the same weight as Panacea and both are from the same materials.
I have the terra nova version , (northern lite 2). *TOP TIP* When I use the trekking poles I put them in parallel with the door canvas so they don't get in the way of the internal door. Hope this helps.
In the hushed tones of iconic bbc natural history commentator Sir David Attenborough... "Here we see the dishevelled, yet excited species known as the Paul of messner leaving his temporary shelter. The ardent wildcamper iis so happy to see a cloud inversion around his overnight shelter! Yes, this is a curious animal, indeed. 😊
I watched this as I'm thinking of buying this tent or the Northern Lite. I then lost interest in the tent; not because I don't want one but because the scenery and inversion grabbed ALL of my attention. That was incredibly beautiful.
Thank you. I’ve seen some stunning sunrises in my time but I can’t think of one better. The mix of the cloud inversion and the snow made it extra special
Not sure why guys put the boots outside the inner pod. Walking boots get brushed off and go in a bag, then go in the sleeping bag with you to keep them thawed and warm. Arctic camping tip. Looks an awesome camp, always worth the view.
Have just bought one of these. You may have already realised but you had the short pole connected wrong. It should cross on top of the long pole so that the joint isn’t stressed. I agree it’s more a palace for one rather than a two man tent. I’m getting older so need a bit more room for comfort even though it’s a bit more weight to carry.
Watching this again as i am trying to resist the upcoming 30% sale. Will also be watching ur comparison vid with NL3 again, but just have to say that sunrise with snow and inversion is very special, a wonderful memory for you, an inspiration to others to seek similar. Thanks for sharing this with us paul. God bless 🙏
Paul, have been wrestling with whether to buy CP2 or Helm 2 for a while, had settled on CP2 - but this seems to offer far more piece of mind that either! Is it as much better as it seems?
Hi Paul - why didn't you like the Tarp tent? One of the best tents in my humble opinion.... or is a simple case of more tents more content? - keep the vids coming!!!.😇
THIS HAS GOT ME THINKING I like my helm 2 and prefer smaller form factor and weight.... But it's got me wondering if I could do a mod to be able to brace the helm with trekking poles..
Hi paul out of the 3 tents which would you choose. The panacea the helm 2 or the pioneer 2? I honestly dont no which to go for. I have a helm q but its just to small for me. Thanks
@kddevitt depends if you want to carry the extra weight or not. Panacea is probably a better tent but tge helm is still a good tent. I have the helm 1 atm
@@kddevitt panacea every time. For a slight weight increase it's much sturdier with trekking poles as supports. If you don't use poles, then go with the Helm 2. I've got the northern lite 2, it's a better design and space than the Helm, the panacea is identical.
@@wallsend_wildcamper I have a banshee 200, ok tent, def not for 2 and does feel cramped at times. The Helm 2 would be a big step up, smaller pack, more space. The Panacea looks like the next level up with the compromise of more weight and bigger pack size .... edging towards this one0
Hi Paul, great video, I was going to get the Helm 2 in the next few days but I can see that the Panacea is only £10 more, I seems obvious I should get the Panacea, what do you think, any advice would be great
The panacea is stronger but it’s quite heavy and bulky. It’s a bit roomier though. It’s a shame I didnt get this message last week. I’d have sold my Northern Lite which is better still. Thats now up for raffle on my website 👍🏻
@@PaulMessner thanks for the help Paul, finally upgrading from my vango soul 200 lol, probably get the Helm 2 as it’s lighter and smaller pack size, plus I would need to get the trekking poles for the panacea, the Helm is a big upgrade from the vango soul 200
Hiya Paul Great video and content as usual. I have got a Vango torridon 3 tent. The pole configuration has 2 poles which hold the door /vestibule rigid . Im going to try to adapt your walking pole method on both vestibules poles for increased stability like Iv used before on the 3x3 tarp set up with the door which isreally stable in high winds Thanks again
Wow! What a sunrise. Thank you for all your beautiful videos.
That tent is incredible how it kept its form during those winds!
Also that view is possibly the best you have ever shared

Dude...About The Most Beautiful Morning Sunrise I've Ever Seen...Just Jaw Dropping...Thanks...
Absolutely beautiful sun rise! Thanx, Paul!

Just watched this for the tent review as I'm in the market, but what an ending! Absolutely inspiring waking up to them views
Beautiful sunrise. Wow.
Stunning video and sunrise 🌅
The scenery in the morning was unbelievable. Probably the best I’ve seen.
Thanks again Paul - great review and what a view to wake up to in the morning! Glad you got your mojo back brother!

Uk not exactly artic
@Oddly1970 fairone, temp dependent I guess and preference 🤔🤙
My boots are always durty )) Also how do you find place for those boots in your bag? I just put mine in ziplockback and keep them outside...
That morning view is why we do it!
Loving the idea you can use the walking poles to strengthen the tent great idea

I bought this tent after watching this, only paid £227 from Hill and Dale Outdoors. Bargain! Had a couple of nights out in it and it's fantastic
That view x once in a lifetime shizzle x love every video I have watched x thanks again love x
Spent my first night in this tent. Really like it for one person. My tent has pockets at both ends!
It’s a very nice space to be in when the weather comes in. I like the option to add trekking poles to make it super robust ⛺️👍🏻
Great video, fantastic views in the morning
Great, informative video, and the stunning sunrise scenery!
Marvellous vids Paul to save me painful experience sometimes
Another absolute crackerjack of a film, love it. I have the Helm 1 thanks to you and it is bombproof. Thank you
It looks it, yes. The quality is there for sure.@@FMedia01

I think we might have a winner, I've been watching tons of your videos lately trying to figure out a tent. This ticks all my boxes.

I've got a Helm 2, want something that is more sturdy for poor weather. There's this or the Vango apex geo 200 which is similar spec.
I'm stuck between Helm 2 and Panacea 2. Helm 2 is basic and lighter, but more space in Panacea 2! £20 difference atm too
@kddevitt depends if you want to carry the extra weight or not. Panacea is probably a better tent but tge helm is still a good tent. I have the helm 1 atm

How elegantly Squarespace is woven in your videos:-)
Hi Paul, what would you choose between the helm 2 Vs panacea 2?
Many thanks
Beautiful
The colours in the morning were beautiful.
Your reward 😊
Really interested in this tent. Wonder why they call this 3 season and the northern lite 2 3/4 season?
This looks similar to the Northet Lite tent.
Will my bobcat 1 stand to conditions like that?
Love your videos bud would love to meet you one day
Can you doors be open both sides or just one side?
Both sides
Waking up with the gods.

Wow!
proper winter video for this tent it is boomer tent
The tent would be caving in in 25mph winds without trekking poles? Sounds more like a budget campsite tent, 25mph is not even gale force.
One of my visions of hell. Very interesting though. 🇦🇺👍🍺🍺
