- One of my favorite Statler songs (one of theirs, too), an autobiographical song that recollects the Blackwood Brothers' influence on their formative years.

gospel
I love the Statler's gospel songs. They have such a distinctive sound.
Still playing this gem… I’m glad it’s available online ….ty for uploading 😁👍🏻
You’re very welcome
I like it.
You're most welcome. I'm surprised this one has never appeared on YT until now. Among their very best, I think.
We have this song on one of their albums. Forgot all about this song. They sound so great. and wrote very cool songs. They were one of a kind and I will always be a strong Statler Fan.
Thanks for the post.
Cool I used to go to Blackwod Brother concerts too.
Throught I'd heard them all!
love this song !
This song had been haunting me for weeks now. It's a glitch but the lyrics keep appearing as different songs' 'lyrics' and I had to get to the bottom of it all.
Anyway, fun little song! Catchy too!
Larry Butler playing that piano. Don's falsetto at the end...
And C2 by Harold

Thank You again Friend, great video once again Cheers
So very glad you enjoyed it. One of my favorite Statler songs.
got to see two versions of the Blackwoods years ago. one of my fondest memories was when i saw them the last time(with Cecil as the leader) he asked if anyone had a request. I asked for Angels Watching Over Me. he said it wasn't in a good key for him but they did it anyway. a Priceless memory. it still is my fav song of theirs. also got to meet Jimmy and his brother Billy(my fav Blackwood)
Thank you!!! I think this was on their Thank You World album. I've been looking for it for years.
Thanks so much for posting. Been looking for this one for a while. Great song.
Thank you for posting this one. My mother was a big Statler Brothers fan so I grew up listening to them too and of course I became a big fan, but I had never heard this song before.
the first line or 2 sounds like the statlers are singing about them selves.
David Dooley They are.

But they’re saying the blackwood brothers have been their idols for so long. I actually hadn’t heard of the statler brothers until Christmas of 1990. Then I got introduced to their music and was hooked. I still am. They’ve been my idols all these years.
