I especially like books that have audio available, because the audio is helpful for learning the correct pronunciation (the stress and the way a native Russian speaker pronounces the Cyrillic letters [which in theory I know how to pronounce but there are nuances that can only be learned from listening]).
I read "The Master and Margarita" in English translation and liked it so much that, despite being barely at an A1 level, I ordered it in the original Russian. I thought it would be a good way to learn the language. Wrong, as you point out. It's simply too time consuming and discouraging to try to puzzle out nearly every word and phrase. So it may be a few years before I can read it. In the meantime, I appreciate your recommendations for getting books at my level.
