The Legion Go looks really cool! Having the controller turn into a mouse is very smart. If I didn't already have a Steam Deck I would consider getting one.

The legion go definitely looks promising. I was on the fence about it but Best buy just had a sale for the ROG ally the $100 off. I decided to go with the ally since they are basically the same hardware and I would prefer the smaller size. Hope both companies have success with these handhelds because ultimately that makes it more fun for the consumers
I just returned my second ally 🤦♂️. Keep having the same issues. I loved it though until it stopped working. I just ordered the go and hope it works out.
Really good work with the first unfiltered views. I think you did great job to showcase that this device has potential, but it's really not all that there yet. I just realised how complicated this will become with the FPS mode, because it will recognize itself as a mouse, and every game has different keys for actions, so you definitely will have to do custom profiles for each game you play with FPS mode on. i will probably stay clear of this one since i have an Ally (and it uses the same CPU/iGPU) and a steamdeck. I like the versatility on this one, but no VRR hurts for me.
@MadaoAU thank you for your comment! :) yeah, I did struggle a bit with the different buttons and keymappings. and honestly, I didn't even know what vrr was until I posted this video 😭 I had no idea the ally even had that feature. I've been trying to find some comparison videos with vrr vs no vrr. I've been hearing it's a deal breaker
Not sure if she showed it in the video but I think it has a toggle in the bottom of the controller to switch fps mode off or on so that shouldn't be a problem
@@mishileehunibee VRR is quite hard to capture tbh, because cameras cannot really capture the effect. So what is happening is, displays have a certain amount of outputs of Hertz. 60, 120, 144 and goes on. you usually have the ability to select specific hertz that the manufacturer has unlocked. You might have heard of VRR as Nvidia G-Sync, or AMD Freesync. It's all the same feature, and what it does is when a game dips in the framerate bellow 60, the monitor tries to match the Hertz of the screen, with the FPS. On ROG ally this can vary from 48 to 60 hertz. Giving you a smoother experience even if the game dips a little bellow 60. (it is important because these devices are hungry for battery, so when you try to cap the Watts it consumes, you can take into account that Performance will be smooth visually from 48~60 fps. (you can adjust it to even go as far as 30 hertz) This of course is not perfect, so if the game is unstable like going from 60 to 30 instantly dipping a lot, you still will have bad experience, but if its dipping a little up and down 10~15 fps when something big happens, you will not even notice it. The LLG compromised on battery and sound. I think LENOVO wanted to create a secondary "mini" PC (portable) for hardcore gamers who don't mind sitting down with their charger plugged in and trying intense games. The thing that put me off from Ally was their faulty SSD card (slot). It's a total deal breaker for me. Also, I have much bigger hands and spectacles, so a bigger screen and physical device are the way to go. Great review!
@@mishileehunibee greetings! I haven’t gotten it so far as I am waiting for it to be available commercially in stores within my country. This looks like an amazing system for the price, and more consumer choices are always best, but the Steam Deck is probably my limit on size due to my smaller hands as well. While the bigger screen would be nice, you do have tradeoffs that come along with that as well. I like how now there is something in the market for almost everyone, and hopefully this trend continues as it means all developers will have to step their games up going forward.
The Steam Deck is just too "heavy" for my carpal tunnel, but I found a workaround where I connect my Joy-Cons via bluetooth and use them -- works perfectly. But the big Deck controllers do stick out and use up space, so the Legion Go WITHOUT its controllers, but with Joy-Cons connected instead (wirelessly) sounds ideal to me :)

what i buy...need desktop pc and handheld in one-----asus or legion????????????help
Please fix that camera wobbling but yeah the legion go is really nice but i think i prefer the ally overall due to the smaller size.
@prime5108 I know I'm sorry 😭 it bothered me too but I didn't have anything else. But so far I agree, it might be a little too big for me, especially for travel.
@@mishileehunibee Sorry about my comment I realized I came off rude also another reason I prefer the Ally is the speakers are just well the best in a handheld imo
Hey which you prefer the rog ally or the lenovo legion go
@Emanuel-.- since I just got it, it's too early to say now, but hopefully I'll have a better understanding when I spend more time with it :)
I'd probably only buy it if it succeeded at 2 conditions, it's on sale, and I absolutely had some game I had to play and didn't already have a device to do so.
That said it's too expensive for what it is, you can get an i9 desktop for this money.
@cds5067 yeah I have to agree with you, from the little time I've spent with it, there's no way I would pay $750+ (which is what I paid for it lol)
Can’t wait to get mines’!!!
Yes audio is not the best. I feel like it runs smoother than the ally rog and I prefer the screen .
Now i want one
do you still want the steam deck? are you still planning on getting it? and doing a review on it ?
@uniquehobbiest792 if I can get it discounted, I probably would lol
@@mishileehunibeeyou can get it refurbished at GameStop
damn that thing is massive
are the surround audio works?
I got the go but apart of me wants the ally
2:46 That's what she said!
I can not understand how many controls are dropped when the right side becomes a mouse... did you ever find solutions? Or are you just forced to lose inputs?
@psychodrummer1117 yeah I don't have a clear answer on that yet :/ I haven't played around with it enough and the little I did play, I just kind of gave up lol
@mishileehunibee that's disappointing to hear :/ hopefully at least for your sake somethin works out.
I preordered a Lenovo Legion Go last month and I’m still waiting for the darn thing haha. It’s because I live in the UK. I can’t wait to test out Switch games. I really wanna play Smash Bros Ultimate. Also, I’m gonna transfer all my roms from my iPhone XR. I might even buy WWE 2K23 for the Legion Go haha.
@UltimateMoralizer I have a feeling you're going to love it :)
You gotta get the steamdeck OLED!
Great video. It's such a gorgeous device.
@viciousviolet3783 thank you so much! :) and yeah she is a beauty lol
Steam deck and rog ally it a good gaming handle and they battery it very bad but seen like lenovo legion go it screen so big I might be buy ally but lenovo legion go will be late update for bios it also I bought ayaneo air plus or a1s
🔥
I’m picking up one Friday
Actually it's 800€ for the 512gb version
Can I play Overwatch 2 on this device?
Subbed for the Dunder Mifflin hat
Valve just fixed your biggest gripe by releasing an oled version 😂 so im looking forward to that vid
Dannnnng that hand held his bigger omg 😳 see I gotta have one
Yeah... $850 in Europe... 😬
For a little more you can get a decent "gaming" laptop
@borky1987 dang I had no idea it was more expensive over there 😭
still trying to figure out how to pull up the keyboard to put in the wifi password lol
Yeh there's definitely a aim assist problem on pc with Fortnite. Even there's supposed to be when a controller is detected there just isn't any 😭 drives me a bit mad
digging the hat!
@714SNF thank you! :D
from greece is 899 euro
Correction "The audio on your videos is not great" hahahahahahah!!
I think for audio most people will use headphones.
The fact that 2 out 3 handhelds came with a case is disappointing.
I’m a rog user and honestly it should of came with a case, the official rog ally case would of been perfect but no they want 40 for a case that’s subpar at best.
Still love my ally but that was definitely a L for asus
2:55 That's what she said!
Nice review, it was natural, since you didn't know the device.
