    Also a quick cheap fix is to purchase Dorman connector 800-418 and save a ton of hassle and money. I fixed this on my truck by cutting the hose at the old connector and purchasing that new connector for $14 and a 3/4 x 3/4 metal hose clamp. Walla! 5 minutes of work!

      I did this too & lasted for about a few months & is now leaking again, figured I’d just change the hose (they seem to last about 10yrs/150,000 miles

    I heated up the tip of a flat head screwdriver till it was red hot. Then just melted right through the side of the connectors and ring. They came off in seconds.

    I have the same problem I got everything no but the part of the hose that’s closer to the firewall won’t clip back in, have any ideas of how to get it to clip in

      It has o-ring on the inside of the fitting make sure the o-ring didn’t come out of its grove. Other than that, make sure you push it on straight, mine wasn’t terribly hard to put on.

    Do you know the part number for the whole hose assembly ? Just happened to me last night!

      I am almost positive that it is PN: KH570 mastercraft part number and Oriellys carries it too.

    So if I hear you right you completely install the hose, fill the reservoir, start the truck, got it the engine temp up with the heater set on Max and then cooled it down?

    • @nixfix2981
      @nixfix2981  Год назад +1

      Yea but mark the coolant level from hot to cold. If the level goes up when engine temperature goes from hot to cold then you have an air bubble trapped in the system somewhere. There are multiple methods for removing air bubbles but it is important that no air is left in the system because it can overheat.

      @NixFix I had to change the main hose too, broke at hard fitting at y connector. I filled it to the cool cold fill line. Running now with burp funnel. Engine temp at normal range but still no hot air. I barely see bubbles in over tube, level never changed

    After my truck cools down and my fluid goes up how would i get rid of any air bubbles stuck in the system?

    • @nixfix2981
      @nixfix2981  2 года назад +1

      So there are a bunch of ways that people say to do it. I have gotten mixed opinions.
      1 option start vehicle and turn heater to max. Let vehicle get to operating temp. If this does not work and the vents do not blow hot see below. (This worked for me)
      2 option
      Elevate the nose of the truck and start the truck get it to operating temp and 2000 rpm. Turn the truck off and let it cool down. (This is not needed all the time)

      Nice. I actually ended up doing both. Any recommendations on how to get my high speed fan to turn off. Seems like its doing its job. But when its running non stop I know that cant be normal. Changed nearly the entire cooling
      system. My last guess is my engine temp sensor.

      @@vico.2514 when you changed the water pump did you change the thermostat too? These trucks don’t like aftermarket thermostats. Check out this video below. Guy has the same issues.

      Could also be issues with the pressure switch for your A/C.

    If you not having any issues with the heater hose, should you still change it after a few years?

      I personally don’t change stuff until it breaks. Buttttt in a perfect world yes.
