That transition from base Giratina to Origin Forme with the change in music is one of the coolest moments in Pokemon history! What a game!

Samurott gang here! My samurott, Riptide was the last Pokémon left on my team. Everyone had sacrificed themselves to get giratina to the red zone. Aura sphere knocked it to red, but then riptide used ceaseless edge and killed it! I was so happy.
I beat giratina thanks to blissey and ursaluna. Two tanks immune to phantom force,
Something that I noticed is Volo's theme stays quiet until you actually get into the battle itself and I LOVE that
Every trainer battle does that as well, the intro plays, then the main part starts

When I first played through, I didn't realise what this battle was even going to be. Going up to the top with Volo I didn't even know I'd be battling him. So I ended up taking some super low level pokemon that I was trying to train and evolve for my pokedex. When the first battle started I just started laughing out loud at how screwed I was.
So if I’m reading this correctly... did Volo play on Giratina’s spite towards Arceus and MANIPULATE HIM into helping him by stoking that spark of anger into a fire?

Yes. And you beating it twice taught it humility. The player is single-handedly responsible for turning the Renegade from a bitter, vengeful demon into the Sinnoh Region's Guardian Angel.
Giratina went from being a vengeful god in this game to the peacekeeper of the creation gods after he got beaten what a chad.

Loved your reaction on this. I had the same reaction when I got to this fight. Didn't realize that fighting Volo would go all the way to Giratina without any chances of healing your party. My party got wiped on the first try and on the second, I thought I had him and then he went to his 2nd form. That's some Final Fantasy level of final boss battle and I love every single bit of it. Hadn't been this excited for a boss fight since Sun and Moon.

I find it hilarious how there are people who actually dislike this fight because it's too hard and "unfair"
What did you expect from the final boss? Volo has the power of a god on his side and of course the literal devil isn't going to be fair or kind in any way
The protagonist got the power of God and anime by it's side, but Bolo got the power of the Devil and RNG by his', and he's not going to admit defeat so easily
Most of them are the same people who complaint that the Pokemon games are "too easy", as well lmao
It’s not like the game really punishes you for losing. You can try again right away, which is great, because now you know what to expect.

It's more devastating than ultra necrozma... or ghetsis, since necrozma is a super sweeper while ghetsis forces u to take on 7 pokemon in a row, only necrozma allows heals midway... but true volo COMBINES BOTH FUCKING SAVAGE MODES together for the ultimate gauntlet

I honestly think this is the best battle sequence I’ve seen in a while, I managed to beat Giratina the first time with A dark void, Infernal parade combo and I just barely managed to beat its origin form with 2 Pokémon😭

This easily one of my favourite sequences in the franchise's history finally challenge I blacked out so many times & it felt so satisfying to beat this segment. The director who directed USUM which had Ultra Necrozma get it when it comes to having difficulty best game since Black 2 & White 2.
One big problem was when he kept agile style dark voiding instead of normal or strong style, which is why it didn’t last long enough to capitalize on it
That's right, status moves gets their effects reduced in agile style.
I always see RUclipsrs beat everything on the first try. Nice to see people have to strategize and take time to beat something. Roger the goat

Your problem with dark void is you used agile style.
Agile and strong style increase or decrease the length of debuffs, as I understand it.

I managed to beat Volo the first time, with my full eeveelution team. When Giratina came out I only had Umbreon and Jolteon left alive, Umbreon took out its first form but when it transformed it one shot my Umbreon.. luckily my Jolteon's speed was so high I was able to get 2x turns in a row and take out its second form before it could one shot him too. It was such a close fight.

Absolutely loved the video. I wholeheartedly agree man. This final trainer fight was the best in the history of Pokemon. That fucking Giratina transition was the most sick thing ever happened in Pokemon and caught literally everyone off guard. Such a challenging fight even with high level mons. This game is absolute GOAT in Pokemon franchise.

I love your content, despite some people don't like this game and to be honest it has some defects, for us Pokémon fans this battle means everything. Absolutely the most difficult, intense and emotional battle in history of Pokémon.(without over leveling and restores max), best game since Black and White 2 for me.

Definitely a hard battle for me as well. Having to beat Giratina twice with only my few remaining worn out pokemon was very tough. I lost twice and decided to train my party to lvl 100 and even still Volo managed to faint 2 of my pokemon despite the level difference.
I fed my mons the ev rocks and bought a crud ton of revives after losing 4 times

I wish Volo’s team wasn’t just Cynthia’s team (except with Arcanine instead of Milotic). Like, Spiritomb and Garchomp are fine, but why not have the others be more sinister counterparts to Cynthia’s team? Like, instead of Milotic, Volo has Gyrados. Instead of Togekiss, Volo has Gliscor. Instead of Lucario, Volo has Hisuian Zoroark, and instead of Roserade, Volo has maybe a Carnivine?

I like to think Giratina's entrance was a little nod to Chernabog from Fantasia's Night on Bald Mountain.
I've Lost so many times against volo (ethelo in italian version) and maaaan It was fun to overcome. I was so underleveled
I was happy when I beat all his pokemon with only 3 pokemon ( liligant, glaceon, lopuny ) then everything fkd up when 2nd giratina form show up suddenly. I didn't prepared for that 😅😅😃

With a balanced team and movesets it was a hella easy fight
Volo is THE best villain in pokemon history. The psycho look he has on his eyes as well as his undying will makes him so awesome. He looses his grip on reality so much, he even results to trying to kill a child. He literally gains your trust just to try and harm you in the end. His song is also amazing due to the fact that it’s a sick piano remix of Cynthia’s theme, that also shows how crazy and powerful he is. ALSO NOT TO MENTION HIS DESIGN, ITS SO AMAZING. He even has amazing cutscenes that make him even more insane looking. As well as the fact he is literally an ancestor of Cynthia. This man is literally the best villian to ever exist in pokemon.
I feel bad for Volo. Because I feel like me and him would get along. Though the world destruction part might be a little too much.
the attempt i finally beat him on was SO exhilarating. i used my alpha clefable to tank togekiss's hits and then my alpha electivire fucking TOOK PHANTOM FORCES LIKE A CHAMP and beat the shit out of giratina with ice punch. i fucking love my post-game team
