- This is a review on the campaquip griddle for the Weber Q 1200.
I really like this griddle, it complements the grill plates.
If you don't have one, I highly recommend you get one. Cooking breakfast will be a lot easier with this plate.
Great video helped a lot
Thanks for the video, found the company and they make griddles for all three sizes of Q grills! Ordering one to use with my Q2000 gas grill and my same size Weber Char Q grill.
Could you share a link for the 2200 ? Thanks !

I have heard Weber does recommend only using a half size griddle because covering both sides will full griddle cause the grill to dangerously explode and burn you and cause fire. Is this true?
I have been using full size griddle on every campout and have no problem with it as long as you keep the lid open when using it.
If you close the lid, the flame will die out as there is not enough oxygen to keep the flame going.
If you forgot while cooking and closed the lid.
I can see how dangerous it can be when the flame dies out and now you have gas being built up in your weber grill.
Also having a 3rd party accessories on your weber grill will void your warranty. so there's that.
so if your worried about explosion and fire, I would stick with using the half size griddle made by weber.
Do you have the part number? I only see the half griddles for sale online. Thanks
I'm not sure if there's a part number. You can try reaching for " campaquip griddle" This is where I bought mine.

@@pinchingpennys9570 $70?!? Hell naw!
its a weber Q mate, cook with the lid down. cooks quicker, less splatter. that's how it's designed to work. other than that, great job.
Unfortunately with the campaquip griddle installed, You can't put the lid down as that will turn off the burner.
When I cook with the grill installed, I definitely cook with the lid down.
Yes you can cook with the lid down with the full size griddle plate on your Q. Was tested to Aust Std AS4577 to ensure full safety. Using a full griddle you don't loose all those tasty juices. Have not seen any design details that proves the Q was designed to cook with the lid down. The Weber philosophy is to do so. Its a BBQ. Like others that have lids.
@@campaquip9053 The lid will close with the griddle plate installed and it wont shut off the gas?
I haven’t had an issue cooking with the lid down yet. And I am up here in Colorado with 10 degree weather
NOT RECOMMENDED! This can cause the entire grill melting or gas explosion, due to feul trapping.
I read somewhere that Weber recommended to use one side griddle and one side grate so that the burners can get enough air.
Its a hot plate.... its going to spit no matter what, not to mention your cooking snags, and bacon. If you think the fact it spits fat is a downfall of it, then you need to rethink your review
Yes you are right. Obviously has a full plate
NOT porcelain enameled? Made in China?
Yes it is made in China. Could not get a respectable price here in Australia. Yes it is porcelain enameled with a 5 years warranty.
@@campaquip9053 I had heard Weber voids the warranty if you cover the ENTIRE grill as it can cause problems somehow. If its held up long term for you I will get one. Thanks Mate!
@@davidpaulk5658 I have been told covering the entire grill with a griddle plate like this will yield up. Gas under the griddle plate and not allow the propane gas to dissipate. The grill could explode, burn you, and cause a fire. That is what I was told at a bbq store. Good luck if you decide to buy it.
@@photokingofcool1947 Thanks for the tip. I believe weber voids the warranty if you do so.
A waste of my time.
