    I'm a 70 year old, smaller man... I also found the last latch difficult to attach. All I do is to turn the kayak on its side, and use my upper body weight to fasten the clasp-- not just my arm. Works every time! And I had a 2022 model which I returned to Tuck--the 2024 has been much improved--from the easier folds, foot rest, and seat!

    • @dersupra

      i actually thought about that. Turning it on the side and using foot pressure

    Thanks for the video and all the comments! I didn’t see anything about warranty but if im to believe another video i watched the Tucktec has 3 years while the our has only one. That in itself says a lot about customer service and so when I’m ready for that and a few other reasons it’s a Tucktec for this guy!

    Was considering an Oru, but for the money, I just ordered two on sale. Looking forward to at least 2-3 seasons. On the heavier side of 250, so will see how it holds up. Don’t plan on taking more than 45-60 minute trips in the water.

    tho u How do you send pick up both boats and I was listening to see which one was the heaviest and you didn't say
    You did say that is of folding is more important than wait so I'm assuming the 2024 one ways more?
    edit
    i rewound & see u Showed the weight of the older model, the tan one being more
    So I guess the new one is easier to fold and it weighs less?

    How durable do you think those folds will be long term . Because that look like something i could use .

    • @outerlimitless
      @outerlimitless  8 месяцев назад +2

      These are shockingly durable and cut nicely through the water. As long as your not totally smashing crazy off rocks you'll be fine. They're supposed to last thousand of folds. I can highly recommend these. Just sand and smooth the edges around the edge with some 200 grit sand paper. The edges are slightly square... But yes if you get one you'll love it

    • @outerlimitless

      @@Reqingoe mostly simplicity. The oru is over complicated. Watch my Oru setup video. It took me like almost an hour to set up and although it's nicer I don't see it over the Tucktec for overall ability. Just my opinion

    • @Reqingoe
      @Reqingoe 5 месяцев назад

      @@outerlimitless thank you so much! i’ve made my final decision as tucktec is also more budget friendly. thanks!!!! ❤️
      update: i’m planning on getting both of them. tucktec is much more simpler and cheaper while oru is more expensive but comfortable. tucktec has more space as well. honestly though, the comfort part isn’t worth an extra like what, 200 bucks? so honestly, it dosent matter if oru looks fancier or something. tucktec it is!

    • @kazper2011
      @kazper2011 4 месяца назад

      @@outerlimitless Which model do you have? I don't yet own a tucktec, but the oru lake is super easy to assemble. It took 20 minutes the first time, but now that I've done it a few times would take under 5 easily.
      I think the major drawback of the tucktec is that seat. Talk about uncomfortable looking! It does have the price savings going for it.
      The oru is super simple to assemble and doesn't require as much strength to put it together. However, the Lake model I have lacks the foot brace, so sitting in it for a long time isn't all that comfortable. I found myself fidgeting to find a comfortable position for my legs.

    Good job Pops! Raising him right! My son is 11 and would rather go kayaking on a video game! It's ridiculous. Please keep my family in prayer. My mom is losing this battle with brain cancer. Taking care of her and raising a son as a single dad is a optical at the moment. Powering through! God bless & Godspeed! 🤙🏼👍🏻✌🏼

      Wishing you the best! Hopefully everything works out!
      I let my son play as much video games as he wants as long as he keeps up with his school work, plays hard at sports and find time for our adventures. If he starts becoming difficult with the priorities over video games I clamp down and limit his time. But as long as he uphold his end of the bargain I give him the latitude... It seems to be working fairly well in the grand scheme of things so far.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @calcosPR
      @calcosPR 7 месяцев назад +1

      It does look better, 100%, but it's insanely overpriced, really has that art school college design look and feel to it, this one is... More practical.
      Oru is more focused on creature comfort, looks, and accessibility... For a hefty price considering it's corrugated plastic (again, design/art school origins leaking in). Tucktec is more practical, more forgiving, sturdier... But it looks like a cheap canoe... Because it is - it just happens to do everything an Oru can do a tad bit better.
      Oru does have more versions of their kayaks, a couple of beginner models and four more specialized versions with variable additions on each depending on what your use for them is as how much money you want to dish out.
      In that aspect, options, Oru does take that pretty big market win over Tucktec.
