In terms being , like you , an owner - its hell of a different story and worries.
I love how you compared it to bipolar- and I couldn’t agree more in the running the business is same story in terms of the days. Are you one day planning to open up your own business? Having the experience first hand you probably would have good idea what to do on your own

Hi Agnes, I have a question maybe you can do a video about it , if possible may I have the amount of monthly costs for running two trucks like your own , the total capital/cost one need to get the business up and running ?
As Jash mentioned at the end make money and get out. That’s the further of small trucking business in the UK. You earn more being a driver then being an owner operator. Too many overheads to cover and stress is just enormous. Rather be a TM and manage someone’s company then be a Owner Operator.
Yes it is very stressful and overheads are crazy but- if you have opportunity to grow it however them the overheads spread and more gets left behind. TMs job can be very stressful too and that I would not like to do. Are you owner Operator yourself.?

Hy i was searching for this type of information you have increased my knowledge thanks,i m a class 1driver in uk. Plz let me know how to get in touch with you guys?

Hi Agnes and josh, watched your video again today and I can’t remember how many times I watch it. My questions are : would I make profit from operating one transport from the beginning or 2 as you guys to run the day to day affairs of my business. My second question is how can I source for a job or contract to help me run my transport business.
Hi friend. I have seen your email and answered all your questions you had. Thank you and we have a new video tomorrow that answers some of the questions so stay tuned ;)
Hi thanks for watching. Our truck are 2016 plates so not brand new. It’s harder as a beginner to get loads to what it is once you get running. Finance depends on the credit history, deposit and years company been operating. Best to not go directly though a dealer but an independent broker as they tend to be cheaper. I hope this helps
If you are having a pmi every 6 weeks come mot time truck should go straight though with no big bills i would be looking at why things aren’t being picked up and repaired when the inspection is done
PMI does not pick all the things MOT does beside truck does a lot of mileage and things just break in such heavyweight vehicles so 9 weeks is long enough for things to go wrong. On PMI things too need fixing sometimes. Are you in the business as well ? How many trucks you operate?
@@AgnesMann hi yes I run 3 at the moment and have been around the industry all my life and we do all our maintenance and repairs where possible in house as we can’t find a dealer local that is any good Pmi’s are done every 5 weeks for our own peace of mind and come mot time I take them myself with 100% pass I understand things go wrong but I never have bigger maintenance bills to pay around MOT time 👍
@@w388y1 good that you have maintenance in house we have no such option so keep PmI less frequent as it obviously take a day out of the business. Do you have own mechanics or maybe you’re mechanic yourself?
Hi Agnes, hope you are doing well. I am interested in started this trucking business i have a few questions to ask : 1) is it feasible and profitable starting a transportation company in the current bad economic situation in the uk? 2) how can we find employees/drivers for the trucks in uk? what are there per month salaries normally?
Hi and thank you for the information you are giving in this video it was very helpful and I recently applied for the a licence and waiting what the decision my question if you can elaborate on how to acquire A tractor unit from the point of view of Financing.. What is the minimum cash one has to have to be able to get Finance?? Thanks
Thank you and good luck on taking the leap to get your own business set up. Re the finance you will need some deposit but it will depend on the value of the unit and the finance option you go for. Best thing is to ring the trader and discuss your personal circumstances as it’s difficult to put a number on it. Since trucks are not cheap you will need some cash but the letter you have the more interest you might end up paying. I hope this is somewhat helpful
It varies depending on the month. January we are normally on a loss and revenue is close to nil. overall comes to same salary as if you would be employed as a driver working for someone else only with the advantage of paying tax after you have earned the money as opposed to having it deducted before you get paid. Plus you have a lot more stress on your head. Are you thinking of opening such business or already have one?
@@AgnesMann yes I wish to start my own journey in this industry. I get what you mean about stress but the perks of having built something from nothing you guys should be proud👏 . I am more concerned about how to guarantee jobs every day. What advice would you give me? And is a revenue of 5k a week farfetched?
@@abdulmalkbayouk9769 you’re right absolutely it’s a good business to build and like in every business first few years are the hardest. One truck can generate 5k revenue per week if you get regular work which at the start is difficult especially if you have no contact in place. We still use the platform to bid for work which is very much a luck how good it gets with work you manage to book. Have you applied for the o licence. What kind of videos you think we should make on the matter
@@nckarthikkumaar revenue is always before expenses - it’s your turnover. Then you take away all the costs etc and your left with gross profit then you take the interest and tax and have net profit.

HX, Amazon Relay, contracts with individual companies. Depending what you looking to do really. We can tell you more over the consultation if you like please email me on Agnes.Mann@hotmail.com and I’ll send you more details about it.
Hi Agnes, im quiet dissapointed to find out that per one truck the real profit which you take home after all expenses fuel, driver, etc is just arround 3K a month ! Is that true or am just mistaken and its much higher then 3K Am a software developer and all time thinking to stat my own buisness and the transport is all that comes to my mind and really interested in too , but want to make sure if this buissness will really be more profitable then my 50k job So 3k per truck ? Does this buisness just worth it ?
So even with 8 trucks in the month of january it can go in loss i think, if this generate only 3k profit a month per truck because you need to pay your drivers and all kind expenses, not looking it very profitable Can you guys please make another little more detailed video about all costs as you run your truck per miles weakly , like how many miles you get and what are their cost finally Thank you a lot

Waiting for this next video. Hope you will do this. Thanks.
Hi Thank you for the suggestion. As to the cost we have already covered all the cost we incur and as to the profits this video is in the making so stay tuned.
You need 8k in the bank, before Gov will even look at you. You need a yard for maintenance, complete with mechanics and yard manager, you need a CPC ( PASS AN EXAM), the original CPC for haulage yard manager qualification. You need all the bit if you want an international CPC.
8 k is only if you have one truck. If more than that 4,5k for each truck. You don’t need yard manager but transport manager i.e. CPC trained person to manage the transport. You can hire TM so don’t have to pass CPC yourself. I gather you don’t have O license yourself but work in transport or know someone that does?

I work as a planner for small company - it is difficult but I treat everyday as a new challange :D It's all about balance - to keep drivers happy, to get the jobs and to keep my director happy :D Well, transport its like who has bypolar lol - one day is glorious next day is shittiest day ever - but this is what I like. In terms being , like you , an owner - its hell of a different story and worries.
I love how you compared it to bipolar- and I couldn’t agree more in the running the business is same story in terms of the days. Are you one day planning to open up your own business? Having the experience first hand you probably would have good idea what to do on your own
@@AgnesMann HI Agnes, I used to be lorry driver, I also was a white van man - had to stop it tho for different reasons and problems which occured along the way. I don't think I have that money on me to start a lorry business. Its not the job which is difficult - its always people. You can be as good , but when people fail you for no reason its a disaster and can create a backlog and other stuff. Its a lot of investment as you described in your videos. I like the industry and I know few thing and learn a lot over the years.
@@elvisGT yes you are so right, the people factor is a major reason for many companies to close down. Would you consider to starting the business in the future? We could help you if you like
@@AgnesMann I don't think I will be in near future. At the moment Im just focusing on planning transport as I found this very enjoyable. I only started this position in february and I hope to progress :D But thanks for the offer , i appreciate
I love to start as well as u guys and how is the vehicle leasing process
We do not lease but financed the vehicles instead. Leasing is more expensive however comes with benefits such us getting your vehicle replaced should something happen etc. thank you for watching
Hi Agnes, I have a question maybe you can do a video about it , if possible may I have the amount of monthly costs for running two trucks like your own , the total capital/cost one need to get the business up and running ?
Yes I will be putting such video together after new year for sure as had a few requests like this already
Thank you
@@AgnesMann thank you so much
As Jash mentioned at the end make money and get out.
Hi was just wondering how much work there is on the haulage exchange for tractor unit with a trailer or is it more traction work. I’m currently in the process of an o license and I have just enrolled in to a TM course I will be looking at running 1 truck initially.
Regards
Joe
Jan and Feb, there is a very little work on Haulage Exchange in general. It should pick up in March were I'd say if you have both unit and trailer you open up more possibilities. Did you know we offer consultation/ mentoring where you can ask us any question you like. If you want to find out more please send me an email or DM on my Insta. detail in the description of the video. Thank you and good luck
Thank you for the advice I have sent you an email for further details.
Kind regards

Hy i was searching for this type of information you have increased my knowledge thanks,i m a class 1driver in uk. Plz let me know how to get in touch with you guys?
Glad you have found this useful. How can I help you?
What amount of money did you guys throw in?
To start with 1 truck you need min £50k to cover insurance, finance, driver wages, parking, fuel and maintenance. expect no money coming in for 45 days at least.
It's been always my dream to have a small transport business. What ideas can you give. Great content
Thank you. Any specific questions that you have. It’s hard to give ideas not knowing much about your circumstances
@@AgnesMann thanks for responding. What rates should I charge for maybe from London to Midlands. I'm doing all my research before I'm buying and apply for an operators licence.
Hi nice did you guys start with brand new trucks? How hard is it to get loads? And how hard is it to get finance to buy trucks ?
I am interested in started this trucking business i have a few questions to ask :
1) is it feasible and profitable starting a transportation company in the current bad economic situation in the uk?
2) how can we find employees/drivers for the trucks in uk? what are there per month salaries normally?
avoid start up for now.
Hello, if i come to UK as a HGV driver can I become citizen after 5-6 years ?
Not too sure to be honest
@@AgnesMann thanks..I see now, depending on each case, thank you.
What is your revenue as an owner operator? Like how much would you bring in a day/week or month?
5k revenue per week is net profit or gross profit?
@@nckarthikkumaar revenue is always before expenses - it’s your turnover. Then you take away all the costs etc and your left with gross profit then you take the interest and tax and have net profit.
Hi has a transport manager got to have a ccp license.
TM has to be CPC qualified. Hope this helps

Let me know if there are any questions you have so maybe I could cover it in the future video.
Thank you

No
I’m Polish
Where do you find work?
HX, Amazon Relay, contracts with individual companies. Depending what you looking to do really. We can tell you more over the consultation if you like please email me on Agnes.Mann@hotmail.com and I’ll send you more details about it.
Hi Agnes, im quiet dissapointed to find out that per one truck the real profit which you take home after all expenses fuel, driver, etc is just arround 3K a month !
Is that true or am just mistaken and its much higher then 3K
Am a software developer and all time thinking to stat my own buisness and the transport is all that comes to my mind and really interested in too , but want to make sure if this buissness will really be more profitable then my 50k job
So 3k per truck ? Does this buisness just worth it ?
it's only worth if you are having around 8 trucks. At present transport industry not doing too well.
So even with 8 trucks in the month of january it can go in loss i think, if this generate only 3k profit a month per truck because you need to pay your drivers and all kind expenses, not looking it very profitable
Can you guys please make another little more detailed video about all costs as you run your truck per miles weakly , like how many miles you get and what are their cost finally
Thank you a lot
@@waqasali9983 at the moment it’s not worth going into transport. Many small companies and struggling or closing up. Used truck price has dropped by 30-40%. We had sold our business

Can you do a comparison between USA and UK Owner operator truck drivers? about their earnings, how much per mile income getting. how they get a job contract from the broker. how much net earning from after all expenses. (I have my friends in the USA and they have their own truck. they are earning 12k to 15k USD per month NET profit. because they drive day/night - self driver). can you please tell us how much UK truck owner-operators can earn NET profit by self-driving? please Cover all expenses by writing. Waiting for this next video. Hope you will do this. Thanks.
Hi
Thank you for the suggestion.
@@AgnesMann Yes you are right. Just a driver. No "O" licence yet. I did crunch some numbers but your videos are most enlightening, great job! I decided after doing the cashflow to stay as a PAYE employee.
