It's insane to think that within 20 years or so we've gone from supercars hitting 200mph as a holy grail and now we have 5 door family saloons hitting it with relative ease. Insane - particularly that RS3 but kudos to the development work in getting all these cars to do it reliably, time and time again!
Wouldn't say ease. Evolve make it look easy but lots of upgrades and tuning and of course money!! Not forgetting man hours and some clever heads there. BMW / Audi offering a good starting platform to work with.

As said in the video we had a driveshaft issue with the M5 unfortunately. Hugely gutting for us all as a lot of work had gone in to getting the car ready.
Are you guys running steel brakes ?! I know AutoTopNL said you had steel on the M5 (and he was a bit scared to brake from 200mls/hr ) when he took it for a spin in Germany

this might sound stupid for some of you but im not really too informed on how the top speed runs work but why do you never got to the redline when shifting i understand its raining thats why ur not accelerating hard ?

What is the best way to achieve a higher top speed. Would full traction yield a higher trap. Some racers say that maximum wheel spin from launch will achieve a higher trap?
No feature of my blue m5 :( which done 197 on vmax traps no meth stock clutch and normal vpower PS4 tyres pretty impressive for evolve normal stage 2 we were just behind number 1 f90 m5 nice video though .
So is the big deal about hitting 200mph or hitting 200mph within a certain distance? E60 M5, E63 M6 can all hit 200mph all day long with decat and tune. E92 M3 decat and tune and hit nearly 200mph with 6spd bc of the tall gears and slippery design.
Can you guys do a custom M steering wheel? All the M cars have the same steering wheel I don't feel like I'm getting my moneys worth the 1 series M package has the same please make one with the flat bottom like amg or rs line does clearly bmw doesn't bother

The thing is that car and its components or not designed to do speeds like that. BMW know how to make cars they made it so the car can sit on its limiter all day long you would not be able to do those speeds all day if you did the vehicle breakdown! For me its bit of a pointless exercise. Also what the hell was all that smoke about on launch 7.17 didn’t look good.

I had a e93 tuned to the tap by solo motorsports. Hit 200mph so easily. If hitting 200mph is a land mark achievement for f80; jus another reason to overlook that production cycle

My 18 year old Mercedes E55 hits 200 with ease on a Tune and cooling upgrades. I don’t need an upgraded supercharger/turbo to hit 200.
Impressive results ! The RS3 was the fastest sedan of the event apparently, too bad the M5 couldn't do more runs.

Well done chaps. Funny the speedo stops at 200. The same thing happened with my tuned 335i you dyno'd years ago at 400+ - the speedo stopped at 160.

Ah unusual to see completely stock cars hence the assumption! Saw quite a few cars with the same stickers down the side, strong showing.

Well done! Was the car misfiring above 6k rpm? Seemed to be short shifting it.
6k is optimum shift point on this set up.

Shift to keep the car in its optimal RPM range according to the power curve.

Yes that's a customer car with similar spec to our own, but also aero, full audio including boot build, proper show car spec all out!

When doing tune revisions to find the limiter we forgot to turn off the cat codes. Not a huge problem to us. Any serious problem comes up on iDrive
