The biggest difference I noticed right from day 3 was all the lethargy, sluggishness , exhaustion that I was experiencing since a few years was gone! Food cravings had diminished and by day 21 I did not want any of the unhealthy foods that I previously craved and ate at least once every week. Not to mention my doshas that were imbalanced were taken care of :) My only regret is not learning and following Ayurveda much much before especially since I was raised in the land that Ayurveda originated from.
Most Hindus follow navratri fasts at change of every season, 6 months apart, twice a year. It's very similar to ayurvedic cleanse. We fast for 8 days, replacing rice and wheat with easier to digest grains like buckwheat and water chestnut flour. All fruits and certain vegetables like yam, potatoes, nuts and cottage cheese are consumed. It is recommended to eat only once a day and take plenty of fluids like water, coconut water, butter milk or juices. Tea and coffee are not allowed.

Ayurvedic diet for Doshas recommends certain forms of specific ayurvedic diets, meant for the various types of mind and body principles. The Ayurvedic diet is one that not only nourishes the body, but also restores balance of ‘Tridoshas’ which is very much essential for maintaining health. According to the ancient science of Ayurveda, doshas are of three kinds: ‘Vata’, ‘Pitta’ and ‘Kapha’. Ayurvedic diet for these doshas includes a series of several kinds of fruits, vegetables, spices and beverages which prevent the aggravation of the different kinds of doshas of a human body. Depending on our dosha, or constitutional type, some foods can be beneficial, and others should be avoided. A nutritious and healthy ayurvedic diet would ensure that all the doshas are in perfect balance for the overall nourishment of man.

Thank you for this important question! While cleansing, it is recommended to create restful space in your schedule in any way that is feasible for you, in order to support the body with its natural process of detoxifying. If you can shorten your workday or even take some days off that is the ideal, but we recognize that this is not always a possibility! A great alternative if you don't have time to cook each meal is to make one pot of kitchari in the morning and eat it throughout the day. Hi. I am a big eater and am currently doing a ktchari cleanse for a few days. What caught me by surprise is that I have to "over eat" to get 1000 calories intake, and normal daily intake is 600-800 calories. Great news from the weight loss perspective! Is this very low calories intake part of the magic behind the Ayurvedic cleanse?
Hi Inaki, thank you for watching and sharing your comments! In general, we recommend eating enough while you are cleansing so that you feel satisfied and nourished, but not overly stuffed. Ayurvedic cleansing does not ask that we starve or deprive ourselves, but works by providing food that is simple and easy to digest so that the body can focus on its natural ability to cleanse and eliminate built up toxins. Keep up the good work, and happy cleansing!
Thank you for your feedback! This can very from person to person, but ideally a slow introduction of a more complex diet and potentially aggravating foods like dairy, wheat, soy, and nightshades is key after your cleanse. Check out this article for more support! www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/living-ayurveda/cleansing/a-very-simple-three-day-cleanse/
Thank you for asking. Cleanses can be pretty intense, especially since they can stir natural toxins into circulation as the body works to eliminate them, so we do not recommend cleansing for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Great questions! Excessive pitta can manifest as redness or blemishes on the skin and is usually quite noticeable, however, there are other doshas that can become imbalanced and impact the skin as well. For example, excessive dryness is usually more in line with a vata imbalance. Because neem is so energetically cooling, it is not recommended for vata. We encourage you to take our dosha quiz which will give you some personalized recommendations for herbs and products. It's a great place to start! www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/dosha-quiz/
We're so sorry to hear that! If you wanted to do a cleanse, it may be good to consult a practitioner who could recommend non-grain and non-bean options that would suit your constitution.

You did not give examples of what foods we should eat to come gently off of the cleanse in stage 3
Thank you for your feedback! This can very from person to person, but ideally a slow introduction of a more complex diet and potentially aggravating foods like dairy, wheat, soy, and nightshades is key after your cleanse. can we do this on breast feeding
Thank you for asking. Cleanses can be pretty intense, especially since they can stir natural toxins into circulation as the body works to eliminate them, so we do not recommend cleansing for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How do I know that I have heat in my skin? Is neem toner and balm beneficial for everybody? Does skin type matter when I choose Ayurvedic creams?
Great questions! Excessive pitta can manifest as redness or blemishes on the skin and is usually quite noticeable, however, there are other doshas that can become imbalanced and impact the skin as well. For example, excessive dryness is usually more in line with a vata imbalance. Because neem is so energetically cooling, it is not recommended for vata. We encourage you to take our dosha quiz which will give you some personalized recommendations for herbs and products. It's a great place to start! www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/dosha-quiz/

Unfortunately, this cleanse s not possible for me. Grains and beans spike my blood sugar.
We're so sorry to hear that! If you wanted to do a cleanse, it may be good to consult a practitioner who could recommend non-grain and non-bean options that would suit your constitution.
I can’t do legumes or grains either as well as other foods because I am dealing with SIBO right now ☹️.
This sounds great, but Dang, how do you fit all this in and have a full time job and family?
Hi Kelly, the best part about Ayurveda is that you can easily adapt it to your lifestyle. Start with what works best for you and is easiest to incorporate. Even a one-day reset can be a huge boost! Here is a great article on a one-day cleanse: www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/living-ayurveda/cleansing/one-day-digestive-reset/
@@banyanbotanicals thank you. I will read article. I already do some ayurvedic lifestyle things. Is dry skin brushing considered ayurvedic? I do this and love it.
@@kellyfeltzer5402 I was going through some videos today and came across this one. I've been following an Ayurvedic lifestyle for a few years now. I feel I still have a lot to learn but when I first started, I too wondered how to fit it all in. What has been recommended to me and what I followed, was adding one new thing at a time. Letting yourself adjust to it and eventually it becomes routine! When I can't get my morning routine in, I feel like I am really missing something. I've found Ayurveda has helped me in so many ways. I love it! Good luck to you. Never give up. One step at a time.
The music makes it very anyoing why is your vouce not enough?
Thank you for the feedback! We will keep this in mind for next time :)

I'm distracted by the music and the 'extra happy' expression...
Thank you for the feedback!
I was not distracted as my focus was on information not extras!

U learn from india and never mention in ur videos u people has no thanking nature of our india traditions
Hi Tirumala, thank you for expressing your concern! Banyan Botanicals is rooted in tradition and our intention is to share the practices of Ayurveda. The topic of each short video may not lend itself to fully diving into the practice, but we do have this information on our website: www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/ayurvedic-living/learning-ayurveda/intro-to-ayurveda/ 💚
Everything is indian here
In India and Pakistan we do this as often as a part of routine so we do not need to take time out specifically for this.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Still we re unhealthy 😂
Don’t like music very distracting 🙁

It is advisable to drink lukewarm water before brushing ur teeth 🙄
Thanks for tuning in! 🌱💚 Yes, in many traditions it is recommended to drink a glass of room-temperature water first thing upon waking.
I believe it’s important to go visit an Ayurvedic practitioner to guide you 1st.
There is heavy metal poisoning by ayurvedic medicines. These are some ill effects of ayurvedic medicines. I do not know such metallic content medicines apart from parad tikdi tablets.

I find her voice annoying by the nasal whining sound. I couldn't listen.
I feel board to watching this 😟

Stop the background noise
Hi Jai, thank you for the feedback!
NO GOOD, NO NEED MUSIC
Thank you for your feedback, we'll keep this in mind for future videos!
Yes, and how do we put all these nice ideas and scenery out in the neighborhoods....in the cv19 world of horror we are living in? Do we say, "oh, for the olden, good 'ol days?" Like the Ayurvedic approach, but some nice classes of various kinds and even one on one with a teacher...now muzzled?! - just seem too ridiculous. Such unecessary and harmful behaviors, on many levels, our world has turned into.
Thank you for sharing ❤️ It seems now more than ever it is important to make sure we are caring for ourselves and others.
This is not cleansing 😑 for cleansing you have to do fasting or panchakarma like things🙄
Thank you for your feedback! While fasting and panchakarma are definitely powerful traditional cleansing practices, Ayurveda offers us a myriad of diverse therapeutic strategies to achieve positive change :)
