What part of the video are you trying to do? Are you trying to access BIOS? Because with some models of HP you have to hit Esc at startup to get to the boot menu or BIOS

I had to set a new password to my VPN, I think. @@EggheadFixers no unfortunately he didn't. He gave me an error on my hard drive so i just brought it into the shop today and it will be replaced by a new SSD one which isn't too costly. But yeah the laptop has been build in 2014 with an added 16gb of ram. And the hard drive just broke down in 2022 so all in all it had a nice run. And i still managed to play FFXIV on it without any problems. But yeah will have to start looking out for a new one now cause yeah he is getting too old :p

Hello. All of my hardware tests passed, so I pressed F11 to try and see if there is a software error, as your suggested. It sounds like something might be wrong with the Windows file that you use to reset your computer. You will need to reinstall Windows instead of resetting it. Sometimes when the reset file gets corrupt or there is a problem with the original installation of Windows then you no longer can reset it. In this scenario installing Windows again is the solution. It can be tricky to access. The computer needs to be started when the computer is completely off for it to work. You only have a short period of time to hit f-key or escape and access BIOS. You have a Window of about 2-3 seconds. It can take several attempts to get it just right.

Clicking remove all files nor keep my files works. As soon as I click it the screen goes back and then goes back to the automatic repair screen. What if f11 doesn't work? My computer says it's going to acces recovery, but it then gets stuck on an endless loop of "wait" instead of the endress restart loop. Even though I have a Long DST failure, at least I know. I love doing stuff myself and learning. My Father taught me how to fix things myself. After doing this It takes away the fear of the unknown. @@emmittracca525 Are you running Windows 10? Because there is a built in diagnostic. If you go to control panel. You can type in control panel into the search bar to find it. Once you've opened control panel then select security and maintenance. Select troubleshoot common computer problems. Select the troubleshooter for internet problems. Let me know how it goes:)

@@EggheadFixers thank you so much! I tried doing that but it still didn’t want to boot from USB. I removed the HDD and wiped it from a USB docking station. Put the HDD back in, and booting from the USB. Only hitch is it’s asking for a product key code. Currently live it’s loading Windows. Fingers crossed? Lol

All i did was factory reset my pavilion g4 laptop and now the screen just stuck in a boot loop and sometimes it just beeps continuously. tried testing the memory and hard-drive everythings ok, tried resetting it. the menu doesn't even show it just restarts and loops all over again.

For me it's just stuck on the HP logo then after a while it'll start the automatic fix then go into an infinite load. I tried going into the startup repair but it won't load.

Doesn't seem to matter what F-button I hit, I can't get out of the Preparing Automatic Repair loop. If you can hear screaming it's just me.
Some models of HP use the Esc key instead of the function keys. So try hitting the Esc key at start up.

Everytime I restart my pc, it gives an error saying “Your pc ran into a problem, we will restart it for you”
And then it restarts the pc and the screen freezes on “Preparing Automatic Repair”

Run this command:
chkdsk C: /f /r
Let the check disk run then restart when finished.

What part of the video are you trying to do? Are you trying to access BIOS? Because with some models of HP you have to hit Esc at startup to get to the boot menu or BIOS
the warranty on my computer just ran out and when I went to the tests for hard drive it said 'warning'. before, it just completely shut down. now it's stuck.
If there is an error every time you try and test the hard drive that can be a sign that the hard drive is dying. Can it complete testing on another component like your memory/ram?

I'm uncertain as to whether or not I thanked you when you answered my query about the 3FO error on my Dev One. I removed the new SSD and memory upgrades and replaced them with the OEM parts. I had to set a new password to my VPN, I think. @@EggheadFixers no unfortunately he didn't. He gave me an error on my hard drive so i just brought it into the shop today and it will be replaced by a new SSD one which isn't too costly. But yeah the laptop has been build in 2014 with an added 16gb of ram. And the hard drive just broke down in 2022 so all in all it had a nice run. And i still managed to play FFXIV on it without any problems. But yeah will have to start looking out for a new one now cause yeah he is getting too old :p
I ran all tests and my PC passed and then powered off and on the pressed f11 and it said please wait and did got to the repair window, it just circled back to the "Preparing Automatic Repair" window..

Hi, I have a computer and when I boot, I face the same problem. I tried every single solution including, pressing f9 key, pressing power button for some second and once the pc starts booting I start pressing alt + f10. I am not able to boot into safe mode. 😢Please help me😢😢
With some models of HP, you have to tap on the Esc key at boot then you can select the other options from there. Let me know if that helps.
@@EggheadFixers no it didn't work. Actually I have connected a vga to hdmi converter as my pc has vga support and my monitor has hdmi support.
First one didn't work for me. Second one left it spinning but not saying repair. I had removed it and put another one in. Smaller ram and memory I hated it. Someone told me when you remove a HD it wipes it clean. I had hoped that meant I could still use it but just without my stuff on it. NOPE.
Did you reinstall the operating system after wiping it?
I really don't want to lose all my files. I have videos I put in there and projects I never finished.
Then you can select the keep my files option when you go to reset it. It is not as effective but it does work sometimes.

Hello. All of my hardware tests passed, so I pressed F11 to try and see if there is a software error, as your suggested. But when I hit F11 repeatedly, it does not take me to the menu you got, but instead says “please wait” for a while before going right back to the “Preparing Automatic Repair” reboot loop. I don’t know what to do :( I’ve followed so many online tutorials and none have gotten me out of the loop

You have to use your arrow keys to select it and then hit enter

If its working again then go with it. It could have just been a glitch
You don’t always have to Fully Clean The Drive and loose all your Files, only do this as a last resort.

It sounds like something might be wrong with the Windows file that you use to reset your computer. You will need to reinstall Windows instead of resetting it. Sometimes when the reset file gets corrupt or there is a problem with the original installation of Windows then you no longer can reset it. In this scenario installing Windows again is the solution. It can be tricky to access. The computer needs to be started when the computer is completely off for it to work. You only have a short period of time to hit f-key or escape and access BIOS. You have a Window of about 2-3 seconds. It can take several attempts to get it just right.

Yes it will. You will have to set all the settings. Its like when you reset your phone. It's the same kind of thing.
Big problem with mine is when I try the F12 route it is still stuck in the "Please wait" screen. Having problems getting it off the boot up screen, always says "preparing automatic repair" then won't do anything for days but spin

I recently got a new windows 10 computer and installed an update, after that it started getting in an automatic repair loop and then it started saying repairing disk errors, this might take an hour to complete (I waited over 10 hours nothing happened) I started looking for these types of videos, I tried running diagnosis and stuff and the only error was with the hard drive (even though this computer is literally new) but now my screen is with these few lines of

Clicking remove all files nor keep my files works. As soon as I click it the screen goes back and then goes back to the automatic repair screen. What if f11 doesn't work? My computer says it's going to acces recovery, but it then gets stuck on an endless loop of "wait" instead of the endress restart loop. I cannot access boot meny either, I can only choose between 2 bios options and I can't get anything to seem to work. and I cannot access safe mode. I cannot seem to access any reboot option.

Even though I have a Long DST failure, at least I know. I love doing stuff myself and learning. My Father taught me how to fix things myself. After doing this It takes away the fear of the unknown. Because of this video, now I know.

so i hit a glass of water n it spilled all over my laptop n my instincts made me flip it shake out the water from the keyboard n let it sit for about an hour upside down but i forgot to turn it off until maybe 7-15 mins after i let it sit. then i turned it on after an hour n a message came up sayin “windows failed to start” i decided to turn it off n let it dry til the morn. well now i turned it on n it showed the “hp” then went into blue screen then blacked out then i hit the power button n it says “preparing automatic repair” it’s said this for ab 10 mins now n i got finals due friday🤦🏾♂️ pls help

Egghead Fixers yeh errythang passed n it’s up and runs fine but no wifi networks show up n i can only connect thru ethernet. i think the water fried my network chip. any thoughts?
@@emmittracca525 Are you running Windows 10? Because there is a built in diagnostic. If you go to control panel. You can type in control panel into the search bar to find it. Once you've opened control panel then select security and maintenance. Select troubleshoot common computer problems. Select the troubleshooter for internet problems. Let me know how it goes:)
I did exactly as you said and pressed reset (fully clean drive) but it didn’t work, it keeps saying that “there was a problem and the PC could not be reset, no changes were made”

Having this problem on an hp pavilion, cant open anything but bios, your F2 and F11 hotkeys dont do anyrhing

You should still be able to use it to test the hardware even if it's an older version.

@@EggheadFixers thank you so much! I tried doing that but it still didn’t want to boot from USB. I removed the HDD and wiped it from a USB docking station. Put the HDD back in, and booting from the USB. Only hitch is it’s asking for a product key code. Currently live it’s loading Windows. Fingers crossed? Lol

All i did was factory reset my pavilion g4 laptop and now the screen just stuck in a boot loop and sometimes it just beeps continuously. tried testing the memory and hard-drive everythings ok, tried resetting it. the menu doesn't even show it just restarts and loops all over again.

Ok so my memory quick check had an estimated time of 31 mins.. what do i need to do now
It finally says it passed but it took about 15 mins to get there

Sorry to hear that☹ First I would try what we call reseating the hard drive which means unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Then rerun the diagnostic. If that does not work then its most likely that you need a new hard drive. Sometimes when a hard drive really dies the motherboard doesn't read it as being installed. How long does it take to fully reset my laptop, it has been on 1 percent for awhile now
It can take up to 5 hours to do a factory reset
For me it's just stuck on the HP logo then after a while it'll start the automatic fix then go into an infinite load. I tried going into the startup repair but it won't load.

@@EggheadFixers I ran hard drive check the second one failed but the first one passed I've tried everything changing my RAM, updating the BIOS, changing the HDD but it just won't boot into windows at all.

Oh wow sorry to here that. You could just try reinstalling the operating system and if that fails then try replacing the hard drive.
when I press f9 I get a completely different menu with no diagnostic options???
It can vary with your model of HP. Try this:
Turn on the computer and immediately press esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the f2 key.
Mine never gets to the troubleshoot page and the loop keeps moving from "preparing automatic repair " then to "your pc ran into an error and needs to restart. We will restart it for you". Over and over.
Are you trying to reset the operating system? Or are you trying to access the boot menu?
@@EggheadFixersThe boot menu. But I have probably tried all of it at this point.
The boot menu gives me an option for system recovery (f11) which takes me back to the loop. We passed both memory and hard drive checks.
