If you haven't heard the song "Staying Alive ", you've been living under a rock, in a 10 mile deep cave. That was from the 1977 movie starring John Travolta "Saturday Night Fever ". And the Bee Gees stands for B, Brothers, G, Gibbs. Brothers Gibbs. Barry Gibbs, the only Gibbs brother of 4 still alive, and the twin brothers, Maurice and Robin Gibbs. Their younger brother, also a singer, Andy, died in the late 1980's.
Their music list is second only to Paul McCartney. They were singers, songwriters and producers of so many songs in their lifetime and Barry, the oldest and only one still alive, is still writing, singing and producing music today. He's the one in the middle. 😂😂😂🔥💯

Bee Gees = Brothers Gibb. These are 3 brothers. Middle is “Barry who is the oldest”, Left is”Robin”, Right is “Maurice” pronounced “Morris”. Robin & Maurice are fraternal twins. Barry is 3 years older than them.
They started singing ages 9 (Barry), ages 6 (Robin & Maurice). Perfect natural born harmonies. NO AUTO TUNE.
The Bee Gees have a catalog of over 1000 songs. They were songwriters/composers/singers and have a career over 5 decades. Remember if you react to The “Bee Gees” no matter what decade their looks changed but it will always be the 3 brothers.
Barry is the GOAT of falsetto. No one can ever compare to his unique falsetto.
      Robin has a heavenly vibrato.
      Maurice is a master harmonist.
None of them could read any musical notes. They did it by ear. There are so many songs throughout the decades that you will like reacting too but may I suggest one that you’ve probably heard but didn’t realize is The Bee Gees, “Staying Alive” is probably their most recognized song. I would also suggest “Nights on Broadway” “Jive Talking” and “You should be dancing” (live version with their younger brother Andy Gibb, who also had a “solo career” and was never a part of the group known as The Bee Gees.
Andy Gibb passed away in 1988. RIP
Maurice Gibb passed away in 2003. RIP
Robin Gibb passed away in 2012. RIP.
Sir Barry Gibb is the only living Gibb brother. He will be 75 years old in September and has a new album out now called “Greenfields”. He also has a sister who lives in Australia.
The Bee Gees are British, moved to Australia for several years then went back to England, then came to America where their phenomenal album “Saturday Night Fever” skyrocketed them into astronomical fame. These brothers had effortless talent. They rank 2nd only to The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney).
Welcome to the rabbit hole of endless talent that is known as “The Bee Gees “.
Happy listening & enjoy the ride.
      P. S. SORRY FOR THE LONG COMMENT.

Their voices are so beautiful. Barry is the lead. Robin is the one with his hands on his hips & Maurice is the one with the short hair. They had another brother Andy who could sing, but he was solo. U should check out

We love when young people like yourself can enjoy the music us older folks grew up with! The Bee Gees are 3 brothers who have been singing together since the late 50's. Barry (the one in the middle with the amazing falsetto) is the oldest and the only one still alive today and still performing. The ones on the ends are Robin & Maurice who are twins. They had another younger brother Andy Gibb who also passed away. This song was the band's contribution to the "Music for UNICEF" fund. They performed it at the Music for UNICEF Concert on 9 January 1979. The song later found its way to the group's thirteenth original album, Spirits Having Flown. It hit No. 1 in both the United States and Canada. Great reaction!! :)

Some Bee Gees info; Brothers Barry, Maurice & Robin Gibb all had fantastic voices, all could sing falsetto (though Barry had the strongest, sustainable falsetto) & all sang lead on various songs. They began in 1955 as The Rattlesnakes, (Barry age 9, the twins almost 6). 1958, were renamed BG’s/Bee Gee’s. Their 1st international hit was 1967, "Massachusetts", which hit #1 in 13 countries. In the US alone, starting in 1967, they had 30 top 40 hits (23 in top 10, 9 #1s & 6 releases were consecutive #1s). Worldwide, over 120 million records sold. 22 studio albums. 83 singles. 2 live albums. 15 compilations. 4 Soundtracks, including Saturday Night Fever, the 2nd largest selling soundtrack of all time (in Library of Congress, as Culturally Significant). 3 Grammys, plus Grammy Legend & Lifetime Achievement Awards. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Songwriters Hall of Fame (1031 songs by Barry, Robin & Maurice, together, alone or with others). Wrote hits for Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Steisand, Frankie Valli, Samantha Sang, Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers & more (many also produced by Barry). Barry is the only songwriter in history to have 4 consecutive #1 songs on US charts. Starting with Bee Gee's Stayin Alive, hit #1 Feb. 4 & held for 4 weeks. March 4, was bumped by brother Andy Gibb’s (Love is) Thicker Than Water, #1 for 2 weeks. That was displaced by Bee Gee's Night Fever, #1 for 8 weeks, followed by Yvonne Elliman's If I Can't Have You, #1 week of May 13. Since Barry co-wrote all 4, from Feb. 4, 1978, till mid-May 1978, with no gap, a song (co) written by Barry Gibb held the #1 position. Not many will ever come close to their career.

They practically invented the disco sound in the film, Saturday Night Fever, around the mid-70s. Before that, they did mostly pop and ballad type songs. Like 'I Started a Joke', with the guy on the left, Robin, as the lead singer in that one. 'Words', and 'I Gotta Get a Message to You' were more of their older hits you'll enjoy. 'Staying Alive' was a big disco hit for them.

T Champagne's listing their original Big Hits. They aren't too different from their more contemporary ones, either - the same talent, the same songwriting. The only thing that's different is these songs have stood the test of time, and still sound BeeGees-fresh. I would definitely recommend these songs and just about every other one. There are borings songs, or ones I don't care for - but far far fewer of those than the ones I enjoy.

American Heart Association recently adopted their Stayin' Alive as a reference to administer life saving heart compressions. Barry is the oldest, Robin and Maurice (twins - both deceased) were 3 years younger. Bee Gees (BGs) stood for Brothers Gibb. They had a younger br brother in entertainment who died five days after his 30th birthday. You have many songs to choose from with the Bee Gees.

BeeGees are the greatest singers/songwriters in the world. No. Not just a disco group. Barry (the oldest brother) would get pissed when anybody referred them by that title. They wrote over 1000 songs. They started singing in 1958. (Just small boys than Barry 9 and twin Robin & Maurice were 6). They have hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and even into 2000. Barry is the bearded one with the beautiful teeth. Fraternal twins Robin and Maurice are the other 2. Robin is on the left. Mo on right. pure talent no audio help no retakes pure talent.

Pure magic. Barry did most of the lead singing but they were all incredibly talented on their own. But together they were awesome. “ How Deep is Your Love”, “Fanny Be Tender”, “Nights on Broadway”. They reinvented themselves every decade and only got better.

Jacqui816 - You must be a relatively new fan. Barry did not do most of the lead singing. That was only in the "disco" era. Robin and Barry usually sang lead both together and apart. A lot of their early hits were sung by Robin. A fan since 1967.

    • @leosag816

@@susieq9801 thank you for your response. I know Robin did most of the early songs, & I’ve also been a fan since the 60’s. It seems to me, although I could be wrong, in the overall catalog, Barry took over, maybe too much of the time. Not to diminish him in any way. I kind of put it off to “older brother syndrome”, & I’m sure it contributed to the difficulties between Robin & Barry. I think many of the later songs would have been better with the plaintive sound of Robin’s voice, and I also wish there were more songs with Mo taking the lead. But since he was caught between two fairly large egos, and appears to have been the most sensitive, I hope he was truly content to be that third voice that made their distinctive harmonies, and to be the wonderful multi instrumentalist and composer that he was. And also the referee apparently. They’re all fantastically talented, but personally I think Robin had the most beautiful, emotive voice.

@@leosag816 - Sorry if I slighted you thinking you a new fan. I was born the exact same day and year as the twins, my only vicarious claim to fame.
I agree on all counts. Robin's voice was exquisite and he deserved more recognition. I actually found Barry's falsetto and whisper annoying. I liked his natural voice. Both Robin and Barry were stubborn and Robin felt, I believe rightfully so, that he was pushed to the back of the bus for pretty Barry. If anyone was sensitive it was Robin and as he admitted himself, overly so. Barry publicly disparaged Robin as a trouble maker more than once but I think he just didn't like to be challenged by his upstart little brother. Too much older brother syndrome. I never heard Robin say anything mean about Barry. Robin was shy but stood up for himself because he knew he had talent. The Gibbs were a family with a definite pecking order and Robin wouldn't follow the family rules. I think he paid for breaking the chain of command for the rest of his life. I also admired his intellect, eccentricity and wit. He was a true renaissance man in a modern world. Mo just went with the flow and was always stuck between them and when he died the Bee Gees ended. Robin was desperate to go on but Barry rebuffed him and withdrew. Everyone grieves differently. Half of Robin died with his twin, no doubt. Cheers!

@@susieq9801 I don’t feel slighted at all & apparently we think alike. I do feel sorry for Barry bring left with the memories. It’s particularly sad when you see how close they were as children. Barry was the traditionally handsome one, but those Pisces twins had a special aura about them. Barry has had to live with a lot. After both Andy & Mo we’re gone, it’s really a pity that he couldn’t just give Robin what he needed. Losing a twin had to be a class of grief all by itself. But I’m really enjoying watching younger people discover The Bee Gees. It’s funny how many of them are awestruck by Robin after they initially hear Barry front & center with How Deep is Your Love and Too Much Heaven. Suddenly they are hearing I’ve Got to get A Message To You, or Massachusetts, and they are blown away by Robin’s beautiful, powerful voice. I agree with you that Barry could have given up the falsetto after the disco era. His natural voice in the early songs was much nicer. Anyway, it’s been fun chatting with you about those wonderful Bee Gees.

    • @susieq9801

@@leosag816 - Yes, the early photos of the Gibb boys showed love and fun times. I guess childhood doesn't go on for ever....although I still feel like a 10 year old myself! "Sydney" was definitely a plea to remember the good times and ask for reconciliation. Sadly Barry reconciled via a eulogy.
I think Robin was needy and required acknowledgement because he was insecure both due to his looks and being shy.
The twins were Capricorns. Supposedly "they can be perceived as cold and unemotional because they are so goal driven but they have intestinal fortitude by being exposed to difficulties at an early age. Having overcome those difficulties when young they can be playful, mischievous troublemakers." So much for astrology, LOL.
I also agree that You Tube is opening a lot of eyes. As I've said elsewhere, if the pending movie is one sided there will be a lot of upset fans. Someone suggested Blake Jenner for Barry and Keith Urban for Robin. Whadya think?
Nice meeting you as well! All the best.

Barry is the oldest and he can sing in falsetto. The other are fraternal twins. The bald brother is Robin and he sings in verbratto. . The trio makes three part harmony. That is their power and they write all their songs. Also they make songs for others. Now they have all passed away. Their music will go on. Oh, they have been singing since the twins were 6 yrs and Barry was 9 yrs old. Go to Bee Gees ONO ( one night only) 163. Listen to many songs. Good luck.
