It was a very very well filmed, visually interesting, really nice coloured but ultimately generic movie that felt it had to had all the bullet points from Deadpool. No time to breathe in scenes just jump from trying-too-hard comedy to over the top gore for no reason at all. A step in the right direction for this type of movie, but a step too late. It’s a fine movie, but I was a little bit underwhelmed after seeing all the glowing reviews. Especially the action scenes weren’t that great I think. Mostly the usual shootouts and the finale felt like the studio had the final say.
Yes. Once the credits rolled at the end of the film, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I think you've successfully helped me understand why. It was a good movie but aside from Polka Dot Mans mother the comedy parts just didn't hit right. Her relationship with the Joker and her being an antagonist to Batman were never explored. We are TOLD all those things at best. It like they would make Teen Titans movie, and Robin would barely mention Batman.
@@JackWolf10 I am not talking this movie in particular. I am saying that Harley Quinn character in DCEU lacks the necesssary context. It' doesn't matter for other characters, their whole gimmick in this movie is that they are bizarre obscure characters nobody knows about, but Harley Quinn is a tad different, she feels like we skipped parts of her character arc. Like, imagine if Iron Man only appeared in Infinity War as is, without being developed before in his solo movies and previous Avengers movies.
Really wanted to like it but it was just boring, badly paced and stupid...Did not help they got Back Robbie as Harley which I dispise. Bloodshot and PeaceMaker were entertaining but overall the whole Film was a disappointment
I don’t get the positive reviews. The plot is overdone and boring. I didn’t find it funny and the villains are stupid. I wanted to love it but is was mainly average. 5/10 for me. John cena sucks
I don't think Gunn is funny at all and I think he uses comedy as a screen to hide behind. >no bro you can't criticize that dramatic scene for not landing I made it a joke at the end!
I can’t believe they made this movie. Suicide Squad (2016) was terrible, seriously bad, one of the worst movies I ever saw. The Suicide Squad uses some of the same characters, and others are just ‘replacements’ (ie Killer Croc/King Shark and Deadshot/Bloodsport). It’s makes no sense that a movie studio would invest millions in making a movie that seems to be trying to replicate large parts of another movie that bombed so hard
There aren’t as many returning characters as it seems. The film has a lot of misdirection and most of our protagonists are completely different. It’s far removed from the original.
Boring movie even with all of the action. Characters that are not likeable... plot that is straight forward and stupid and as too many flashbacks... bad CGI....and last but not least PRETEEN HUMOR. Seriously you need to have the humor of Beavis and Butthead to enjoy this one. Most overrated movie of the year. This made mortal kombat look good.
I thought it was crap the first half hour was funny but after that it was really unfunny and lame. The happy ending made me feel ill thought I was watching a Disney cartoon.
I went on opening day and I have preorder for 4k. Its a 8/10 with ease. The problem is this went online way too soon and gave no reason to go see it on the big screen......oh, and the pirate copies went through the roof the moment it dropped. Its such a shame that a film that people love, will now no doubt end with this one, well, unless a miracle happens worldwide.
Your Right it is a breath of fresh Air! So much Fun compared to the OG! They really did let James Gunn just go & do what he's best at! And that's making... Crazy Fun Action Comedic Ensemble Cast With the right actors etc!! Oh and what about A Dance off between The Peacemaker vs Zimo lol 😆 😂 🤣
As one of the few people who loved the first film, this was Grossly disappointing. Weirdness and frat boy humor tied together with lazy plot. We NEED The Ayer Cut
I have not seen it yet, but I have a buddy who has walked out of previous superhero movies, and he called me and raved about it for fifteen minutes. Sounds like a genuine winner.
Seems the movie bombed according to studio's expectations. But no one is talking about that it may well be because we are tired of the WOKENESS in today's PRODUCTS (not movies). Seems they are made in a program that writes the scripts checking the proper boxes but leaving out the heart of a story! I for one will not watch any movies until I see HollyWOKE really giving up IPs, SJ, PCs and going back to making real MOVIES!
The trailer was awful - looked like an over the top annoying cringe humor crap. It is actually way better than this although it has its flaws. It is too long. Some scenes are too predictable and it feels like you are watching Guardians of the Galaxy again (use of the old songs, humor oh and well actors). Shockingly for me - Harley Quinn is the weakest link of the chain here. It is quite obvious she was forced in because fans love her but she was just getting too much attention and I found most of her scenes to be trying too hard to be cool and edgy. I wanted to see more of the other new characters (Spoiler whose deaths are treated really weird) overall the mood of the film is very up and down in some places. All in all it is a fun movie and step up for DC but I wont be watching it agin anytime soon.
I never thought I would say this, but I think I had more fun with the 2016 film. The extended cut that is. But strangely I think the first movie benefited from being so awkward and rough around the edges. This one feels so calculated. The violence is tiresome, the jokes are unbearably unfunny and run into the ground EVERY SINGLE TIME (only subtle joke in the whole film is that The Thinker has less antennas in his head when he is young and nobody comments on it, as with every other joke). I wanted to like this so bad, but right from the moment when Robbie reacts to the death of Flula Borg, I knew we were in trouble. She is terribly written compared to her other appearances, Idris Elba is fun for 5min, then goes back to being the super cool, stoic tough guy and John Cena was never as unfunny as here. I think the success of "Guardians Of The Galaxy" (the first one, which I enjoyed a lot) broke James Gunn. Everything I've seen or heard from him since was pretty awful. I miss the days of "Tromeo & Juliet", "Slither" and "Super", he would work so much better on a low- to midbudget level. :-(
The flashback with the rats keeping RC2 and her dad warm was some 80s level heartwarming.

Because them being forced is the whole premise of the suicide squad 🤦🏻♀️ you want them to be good hearted super heroes 😂
@@MajinTar wut
@@MajinTar Learn to read idiot.
Why would they explore her relationship with Joker or Batman if it’s completely irrelevant to the story?
I hope the next part is called "Suicide Squad", and the sequel to that is called "Suicide Squad".
Good to have met you on Saturday. Ive subscribed and look forward to seeing your stuff.
RIP Flula. 😥
I watched the first suicide squad for the first time 2 weeks ago (god awful). I can’t bring myself to watching the new one.
Was never a fan of James Gunn but I am now.
AGREED.
Preteen humor iS really a problem here. I dont like Deadpool because of it and this is same.
Love this movie
Seems like it's Promising I'll Check it out though I don't Harley Quinn
Robot chicken Starro episode: The movie
As one of the few people who loved the first film, this was Grossly disappointing. Weirdness and frat boy humor tied together with lazy plot. We NEED The Ayer Cut
By few you mean a team of 1 😂
Jesus Christ if you like that piece of shit you got issues
Good movie.
I liked it
I have not seen it yet, but I have a buddy who has walked out of previous superhero movies, and he called me and raved about it for fifteen minutes.
Piracy is also a reason
This movie was nothing but over the top annoying cringe jokes
I enjoyed this film, much better than the first suicide squad movie thats for sure. Awesome review oliver
