I started with your baked potatoes in the bottom, then put together a meatloaf, wrapped it in aluminum and put it on top of the potatoes, then I wrapped fresh broccoli in aluminum and put on the meatloaf, turned it on low, and had a complete meal when we got home from work and school.

With the ham - I’m on board w the brown sugar in the bottom of the crock pot but darlin’ oh darlin’ for the top of the ham I’d smother it with Orange Marmalade of your choice - sweet or bitter - now that’s heaven to me lol . Just had an epiphany lol - anyone wants the proverbial taste of pineapple there is a pineapple jam - easy peasy - ( apricot would rock and so would cherry !!!! ) just sayin y’all !!!!

I’m so glad you showed how easy it is to bake bread in a slow cooker! Great recipes👏👍! I like slow cooker bread better than bread machines because the loaf is always 😍. No holes from the mixer blade or paddle…my favorite way to eat sweet potatoes 🍠 is baked in the crockpot. I’ve yet to make pineapple upside down cake in mine yet, because I love it in the iron skillet, but I know it would be delicious baked in a slow cooker😋. Please keep the great ideas coming. I love that you and Chef John both use All Recipes because I admire both of you and your individual styles. All Recipes is a wonderful site for an abundance of good recipes.

Oh, I love using my slow cooker. I've tried most of the things in this video except for the onions and the onion soup. I've made cake and pudding. I've done a roast of beef, roast chicken, roast pork. I've done casseroles, beef stew, meatloaf, lazy lasagna...and yes, I've even made bread. I think I've even made corn bread. It's one of the BEST gifts my mom EVER gave me!!!

That's the thing though the slow cooker steams the potato you don't get a crunchy crust like I do when I run it under water and put it in the oven. Nobody needs oil or salt or trays or anything else to bake potatoes. Just pick them wash them first leave them wet and put them on the rack of a 400 degree heated oven. You will get the crunchiest skins you've ever had if like we up in the Northeast like to eat the skins after the potatoes gone with a little butter salt and pepper on them!

When the pandemic first started, some non-profit organizations had access to government food. I was given a box that had a huge sack of onions. I can't stand raw onions, didn't know what to do with that many onions, but had the genius idea of French onion soup. Wow, used all of the onions and froze the leftovers. One of my successful cooking experiences.

For those of you looking for a *dry rub seasoned ribs* in the slow cooker recipe - coat your ribs in the rub, then stand them UP (opposite of laying flat) in the cooker around the rim of the cooker. (Don't worry, I've done this TWICE and it's worked both times.) DO NOT ADD ANY LIQUID. The fat will run off to the bottom of the cooker but your ribs will remain moist and seasoned. After cooking them in the slowcooker, If you want to brown them a bit, put them on a sheet pan atop a sheet of aluminum foil for easy clean-up and broil them for a few minutes under the broiler. You can cook the ribs overnight on low, or for 4-6 hours on high. [Obviously, for this recipe you do NOT separate the ribs.]
