Hi Nicole - That was a fabulous video. Yummy and thrifty. I loved every idea. I have a funny story: for 30 years I made a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It took me 2 weeks to prepare, 6 hrs to make and 15 minutes to eat. (we're fast eaters). And 2 days to clean up. Then on year 31 I'm talking to my hubby and he tells me he doesn't really care for turkey. WHAT! So now I buy two rotisserie chickens from Costco, make or buy some mashed potatoes and focus on dressing which was always our favorite. Dinner is ready in 30 minutes tops, we clean up in 10 and still have some leftovers. Thanks for all the tips and happy Thanksgiving. Love PegEgg

BEST video. Humanitarian, thoughtful. This is how Denise REALLY says, "YOU CAN COOK THIS." Being grateful through food and gathering doesn't need to put your family back. Presentation and fanfare is never what ANY holiday is about. Not being lovingly together is what sets us back.

Even cheaper than your sausage and rice, make dirty rice with cheap ground beef or ground turkey. all you need is bell pepper, celery, onion and rice or just buy the dirty rice mix if you are cooking-challenged. Also, fancy-up stovetop stuffing mix with diced apples and smoked sausage or bacon.

Nicole last yr after thanksgiving i bought 2 extra boxes of turkey stove top stuffing for this thanksgiving just incase i couldn't find any. I started using stove top because it's got all the seasoning in it.even though i like to add more sage to my stuffing. And since the beginning of this yr when walmarts canned pumpkin came back on the shelves i bought 6 cans of pumpkin. Thanks for your videos!!!

Great video and excellent ideas. I actually only ever use canned cranberry sauce, and store brands do not mean sacrificing quality as it once did. Walmart, Aldi and most supermarkets do not have their own factories for producing private label goods. They are supplied by the big names or by companies that specialize in producing national brand equivalent products.

SHe is so right. I did buy canned cranberry sauce which we love. But, for the first time ever I made (attempted to make) my own cranberry sauce. I was shocked how easy this actually was. I don't why people make this so complicated. Like it's so hard/impossible to do.
