I found adding a shim behind the diff pinion gave a tighter mesh to the diff ring gear and stopped the wear you have had. Also RPM make a stronger front and rear bumper support. 👍🏼
Great video, just had the same "clicking" issue with my new xmaxx. Was the same problem/fix as yours. Still love traxxas !! But going to order those drive cup sleeves for mine as well. Mine havent worn yet so those sleeves should keep them good as new.
A sales rep I here pretending to be your average traxxas customer😂😂😂😂. The clicking is caused by chassis flex and cheap gear metals. I had a Xmaxx, its junk, save your 1K.
Good video, lots of good information. I am fairly new to the hobby, and complete newb to the electric side of RC trucks and truggies, (bought first Xmaxx in May of this year). I am curious 17:53 if adding a shim would help prevent that problem?
Good video, i agree there are many good aftermarket parts out there, i do like GPM and Treal, but M2C is a better part, those guys are very good, i have many Xmaxxs and they are my favorite so ive done a diff or 2...XRT is awesome too!!!That Traxxas 600 series servo is awesome and i am really happy with its performance!!
@@redbanditracingwith that being said I do buy Treal and GPM, I feel they have both come a long way in quality from past years... their products are very good..M2C is a little expensive for me...
Maybe you need shims on that dif pinion gear. I saw a video that shows you how to add shims to that differential pinion gear to make the pinion gear have a tighter mesh with the ring gear. I got some shims, I have yet to install one or two. Also I saw you have that 2085R servo. Last week I installed mine it broke after 18 mins of mild use. It was defective, Traxxas sent me a second one. I installed immediately and it only ran for 10mins and fried too. Please let me know how that servo you have there holds up. Traxxas is sending me a 3rd replacement. I am waiting for it to come. Something has to be wrong with them.
@@redbanditracingI subscribed. I look forward to seeing the upgrades you do, specially that servo. I am curious to see what you do different and if it lasts longer than 10mins.
I keep my Xmaxx stock, monkey gears and all. Been bashing for a year, I hear a clicking sound too. I will be replacing it with more monkey gears because the truck is bananas! Xmaxx rocks !
Yep , son of a gun 😤. Time for some rock solid gears .
Great fix and you always leave all the part links 🔥
Glad I can help, thanks for watching.
Nice vidéo 👍

This ⬆️ I had to shim mine and it solved the clicking and uneven wear. Great video dude. Very well produced and edited. Loving your work 👍
This is the pack the shim comes in. It goes behind the diff input. 🍺 TRX7783X
RPM makes bumper mounts for the xmaxx

@@spenn2007Haha sounds like a Arrma sales rep 😂😂😂😂
@@spenn2007 The chassis is meant to flex thats not the issue, the cheap material as he stated is why they chip. idiot
Yeah the drive cup sleeves will be a game changer for those, happy to help out!

It will, a lot of people saying it helps. I will be trying it to see, but I’ll be upgrading to Hot Racing Spiral Cut gears.

M2C is definitely one of the best!

I’ll look into Treal, I just seen Hot Racing makes those gears also.

I’ll definitely try that while I’m waiting on Hot Racing Spiral Cut gears. Let’s see if they last longer cause I’ve heard a lot of guys using shims.

Are you using the powdered metal traxxas monkey metal gears? No wonder they are breaking. You have to use hardened steel.
As I stated in the video, we know. They are on order, this was just a repair video.
I have had good luck with some "monkey " metal gears... everything breaks at some point..
