Tow truck driver gets stuck and has to call a tow truck!

- Everybody breaks down sooner or later, and this time I got a phone call from another local towing company that I work with pretty regularly to go get one of their own. They started off with just a day of exploring the woods and high altitude volcanic lakes when Suburban number one blew a transmission. Then while trying to pull it out of the canyon with Suburban number two, they blew a radiator. So they called me to go up to do the off road recovery portion of the job. I headed up into the woods and towed them back to the East Lake Resort where their rollback was waiting to tow one back to town, while I towed the other.
Thank you Austin for asking Casey to explain why using the fork lifts. Great video.
I think the best part of the video is ONE FORD pulling out TWO CHEVYS together.
I almost fell outta my recliner laffing when I realized both of them had to suck dust with the windows down while U were towing them .. ;-}
I am glad you explained the weight distribution because I looked at that set-up and said "What! Why?"
Hi Casey, I too enjoy watching your work..You keep it family friendly, explain things n show your humor n care for others...thank you 😉
Seen your tow truck for sale in our group, clicked the link and ended up here! Subscribed! Seen Matt's offroad in the comments! Watched him for years now! Keep up the good work Casey
Nicely done and thanks for the tow truck 101 lessons.
That Ford 7.3 Tow truck looks great! Nice job!
Granddaddy always said if you find a fork in the road, take it. You might look around and find a spoon.
That was a great video I liked it and I like how you explained your equipment of why you were doing it and how you were doing it keep up the great videos
A very interesting way to get the job done. Heck of a lot of driving. Great job.
I love your videos and your truck! Your whole setup is really great. I've learned quite a bit in just the few videos of yours I've seen.
Appreciate you 🙏
Accidentally stumbled on your videos when I was searching for something else tow related!
Also; I've got an 04 F350 CCLB with a 6.0, just rolled 340k on the odometer. Runs like a top! They're not as bad as the vast majority seem to think. Purely maintenance.
😁
Nice work. I love the road y’all were on with all the trees. Nice to see ya starting with a full tank 😂
Love the sound of that turbo spooling up on the incline,
You can thank yours truly for being a top tier camera man😁
Good job
Keepin the F bombs to a minimum!
😂
awesome recovery! I went to help a 2WD out of snow in 2019 when my clutch decided it was done working. Tow truck came and had enough line to get me and on the flatbed. flatbed then got stuck as I was about 30 fee from the pavement. Tow truck then unloads the Jeep with my sitting in it when his line untangled and I flew in the Jeep off the bed towards the 2WD truck. I braked. 2. tow truck comes and to get me on the firs truck again, pulls the tow truck and me out. that was lot of towing too and we all learned a lot.
I like the fast forward, it makes it look like I'm driving.
I had to laugh a little at the roll-back who would not go up those roads. At our equipment dealership out in the eastern Ozark Mountains of Missouri, I routinely delivered tractors and equipment out those kind of roads, driving through creeks, and with brush scraping both sides of the truck. Sometimes, I even had to back out part of the way because I couldn’t turn around out in the woods. But a great video showing another problem and solution recovery professionals perform.
We did some sketchy stuff when I was younger. We couldn’t afford to call a wrecker company. Did stuff sorta like this, but didn’t have big trucks.
Your channel is like a cross between RepoNut and Matt’s off Road Recovery
oh my gosh a full tank of fuel, what is this channel coming to... lol another good video!
@Matts Off Road Recovery is out doing winching jobs and I'm doing long hauls without stopping for fuel. This world is a crazy place
@@CaseyLaDelle I saw that stuck trailer Matts crew winched out... you see he's putting a winch on the 🍌with all the upgrades its getting. You, Matt and FabRats are some of my favorite channels...
Boy, the man third guy really eats dust!!!
That was another good one, thanks for taking us along.
Casey once again good entertainment and logical explanations. I do find it strange that you are always committed to being safe. However your offsider F - bond Austen is reluctant to just put on a seat belt.
I wear it on the highway, Karen.
@@merle6989 🤣
12:34 Wow, THAT'S a SWITCH --- the DISABLED vehicle looks as if it's TOWING the TOW-TRUCK! :P :D
There is nothing better then watching your videos and doing paperwork for the next day it's the only good thing about transport. An other great job.
That is awesome great recovery with friends
Please get Grumpy to wear his seatbelt.
As it has been said before, “it takes one to tow one.”
I could love to see an inside the cabin video from the second vehicle. Thoughts and prayers for the windshield integrity. Keep up the good work Casey!
I'm glad you were up front. The dust is no fun
The guy in the back braking can't see for the dust but done quite well. You can tell he has been pulled more than once and understands. I've pulled people before that just don't get it.
He did a very good job. I was really wishing I would have brought my kinetic ropes to soften the jerks and shock loads from trying to keep three vehicles coordinated, but both of them did very well. The hardest jolt we had the whole time was completely my fault when I was in the back acting as brakes
@@CaseyLaDelle Kinetic would have put a little spring in your step. Why did you decide to hook up to him? Was the other Suburban's brakes heating up?
@@JT-SE-OHIO the white one was completely dead so it had no power steering or brakes, and a few miles of fairly steep hill to go down. I hooked to the back so he could concentrate on steering and not have to try and fight for brakes at the same time.
11:50 LOL --- so here in the second part of the operation, you were actually being kinda like the OPPOSITE of a tow truck --- rather than your ADDING POWER with your ENGINE to PULL the disabled vehicle, you were instead using your BRAKES to SUBTRACT forward motion and HOLD BACK THE VEHICLE! :P :D
That tow truck looks like it has the same dashboard as my 2005 Excursion and the 2004 down Super Duty pickups. Those mirrors look like 2008+ Super Duty pickup mirrors. That engine sounds like a 7.3. Great video!
2005 headlights, front axle, and suspension, 2008 mirrors, and the rest is 1999
@@CaseyLaDelle So, 2005 headlights, Dana Super 60 front axle with radius arms and coil springs, 2008 mirrors with power folding, and 7.3 liter Navistar. I like it. I heard your comment about the 6.0 liters; I was stupid enough to buy 2 of them. I have a 2005 F-350 and a 2005 Excursion. With the exception of the sheetmetal, they couldn't be more different. They both have the 6.0 liter diesels....Yeah, I know. Great video!
@@lvsqcsl Sell out! 🤣😂
Camped once at East lake resort and ran all over those flows. So I have good idea where you were up there. You have a little guts taking the tow truck up there. Gald things turned out well.
"Get out of the way.....7.3 com'in through"
Hi Casey, I love your red tow truck..
Still watching 2 years later.
Tow trucks without tow hooks, epic fail.
Seat belts fellows. Be safe.
Physics!
Leavers!
Momentum!
Oh My!
You managed to recruit your own cameraman! Cool!
is it just me or did the sound volume vary a bit between different parts of the video?
Interesting little off road train you got going there, and yes those kinetic ropes sound like a really nice "wannahave" bit of kit for every recovery vehicle!
Just wondering: Why didn't you put that broken car already on the back of your tow truck for that last bit of downhill road before reaching the rollback truck? Would that have put too much force on the forks of your tow truck?
We weren't sure which tow truck was going to take which vehicle.
Never ever commented on a video. But y’all have me riveted!! I WANT TO GO WITH YOU AND RESCUE
SOME CRAZY DUDE!! Question: your always on bumpy crazy roads… why do I not get motion sick? How is your camera so steady sir? Clearly
I’m a wanna be and know nothing John Snow! Stabilizer something??
As an owner of a 6.0l. I relish in the fact that the guy being rescued. (The guy with 2 broke A$$ trucks),is interviewing his rescuer’s vehicle.
7:24 Had yourself a train! Whoo-whoo!
Another good video!
Watched about 10 of your videos now, I just can't get on board with it. Good luck
Excellent video
May be a little before your time but it’s called an emergency brake for a reason. You don’t need power to engage the E brake.
Well that was a hoot.
Fun one, thanks.
I've had to do this myself but he had to flatbed stuck so he called me I ran over to his house and grab the wrecker and drove met him had to winch him out and went to the truck out that he was trying to load up and daisy chain pretty much LOL. Thank God the wrecker was a beast and still is LOL it's one of them old 70s 80s style wrecker
At least you don't have some Muppet coming out of side turns trying to get bettween you. and yes, brakes at the back.
And the towing company parents say, "Who do we know who's crazy enough to go tow our kids home? Let's call Casey!"
Love the car seat in ur work truck✅✅👊🏻👊🏻🥰🥰🥰👏👏👍👍🤩⁉️
@9:00 If you're not the lead mule, the view never changes.
I love your videos your a good man 👍👍👍👍👍
Dry erase marker a checklist in the driverside corner of the windshield what you should have (if have the room). Kinetic rope, fuel, SD card......
A lot of compadres driving a
7.3 L in north Texas.
construcción jobs .
When you come to a fork in the road, take it !
Cool equipment!!!!
3 truck convoy awesome haha!
Im guessing both vehichles GVRW is close to 5-8k lbs each ... your truck really handled that 12-16k lbs. My 01 suburban is 8k lbs
How do you know when you've had the very best day wheeling?
When ALL the vehicles are broke down.
I've been watching for about 2 months now. I thought I had a pretty good handle on your vehicles, until I saw the Ford wheel lift. I'd like to ask you if you would do a video of all your recovery vehicles side by side and a brief description of why you use each one in the different applications.
A tow truck towing a tow truck? That is weird. But, have been passed by a hearse? I have, twice.
When did you that wrecker? That looks new and that was pretty cool towing two at once
End of Maintenance: I think there is one of those signs at the Idaho border :)
You need a 360 camera mounted to your roof so no holding hold a camera/phone in your hand well driving.
You can fill those tanks up ???? Share that secret with Matt
I gotta say it. Ford towing TWO CHEVYS. . Junk yard is how far? LOL
i love them
Long Time ago :) but why do you flattow the Car without brakes in the Forest, and Not puting it on the wheellift? In my opinion the safer way.
The camera view really didn't justify the road grading.
It never does
River wood pizza!
Austin without his dog?
Ford to the rescue.
Casey, what was wrong with the square body suburban? Just no brakes?
make the cuss word beep say "HA"
No gas station visit??? I want a refund.
Pulling that much weight should have it in 4 low easier on transmission
It is
What truck did you prefer the powerstroke or idi?
My 2002 E320 4 Matic wagon could have done that job @ 24 MPG .....
Just dont do it. one hard break and you kill your winch.
I know you had a reason but why did you just not hook up the suburban in the front to your wrecker and raise up on the wheel and pull it out I would like to know what your reasoning was
Because the extension cylinder in that wheel lift is not designed for the pulling force that would be placed on it by two Suburbans being drug up such a steep hill
It sounds like Austin is trying to keep it PG rated for the fans. The irony was way over due….
He definitely gets an A for effort!
I definitely was!! 😁
As a grandpa who lets his grandkids watch these the effort is appreciated.
@@davidr.4699 As a grandfather I agree it is a channel me and the grandkids can watch together so it is appreciated.
What did you call those legs and feet that lifted the car up higher to give you a better ride. Theyook like chicken legs. Cool idea.
Frame forks
@@CaseyLaDelle thanks
❤️👍👍👍👍👍😎
The rollback didn't have a wheel lift?
It does have a wheel lift
👍
Good stuff is it snowing yet
I wish!
Nit picking the title, Broke down yes stuck no.
He was most definitely stuck there
Why wouldn't you just pick him up with the tow lift and tow him that way
Do you have a doubles endorsement on your CDL 😂
Yes
👍👍👍
The one in the middle will have a cooked transmission after that tow if it's an automatic
That's what transfer cases are for
@@CaseyLaDelle I have a few tow companies as clients and their policy is to dolly or flatbed a 4x4 cause they don't trust the transfer case to disengage when the vehicle will not run.
So why couldn't the rollback tow them both ?
Because they went to different towns
You didn't bring the boss on this trip.
Nope, it was a school night so she had to stay home
Why didn't the rollback just take both of them after you got them off the trail?
They were going to two different towns
@@CaseyLaDelle I understand that, but that was the other tow truck company son buddy & you would think they would tow it for him. But then again maybe the other tow truck company owner knows it's best to keep them to separated, lol
@@6996brandyl the one I towed was going back to the town I live in, and the other one was going back to their yard.
YOU GUYS ARE MAKEING ME HUNGRY
When a passenger does not wear a seatbelt he will become a hazard to the driver in situations involving vehicle strikes from the passenger side and roll overs. I am flumoxed about the carelessness of people not wearing seat belts, but then again ignorance has not limits.
Mind your business
@@CaseyLaDelle safety was and somewhat still is my concern. I am unsubscribing due to your lack of rudimentary safety in your endeavours.
@@RenoDeano oh no, I’m going to be so sad now without you… 😂😂
I started driving, long before seat belts were fitted to vehicles.
I have not, yet, been in a situation, where seat belts would have helped, or made a difference!
