For anybody wondering this recovery was located at Priest Hole on the John Day River in Wheeler County Oregon. I’ve lived in the county my whole life and the are more cows than people!
I think the most thing that I liked about your videos is when you take us on an adventure out to the Hills and it's so peaceful that we get to enjoy the scenery of what you get to see
Two things: 1) We love it when you take 'Grumpy' along. 2) You know your stuff, Casey, and we learn lots from you. Thank you for always being willing to explore, too!
I'm a tow truck driver and my job isn't nearly as exciting as those two make it. I guess they do off road recoveries. I move more shipping containers then cars
I've watched other rescue channels with no names mentioned - Casey's is the best. His video is short and simple and his dialogue is succinct. He doesn't show BS miscellaneous stuff unrelated to the subject of interest. I recently discovered his channel and compared it to other rescue channels. His is the best. I don't want to see adults with scary looking beards eating a burrito or subway sandwhich.
I totally agree that I prefer to avoid channels with a lot of disgusting eating! Personally, I don't think dogs need to be on every channel either as they are hardly relevant to the content but guess I'm in the minority there?
I have watched 2 of your videos where you rescued snow stranded people. I admire most your attitude. Then the way you work. You don't humiliate people who get in trouble
Desert sand rescue was very nice. My in-laws loves desert capping. Dad in law carried 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood for just such situations. Saved lots of time and troubles.
Dunno why, but this channel’s new to me… nice work guys, new sub here. Just love the way you truly appreciate this wonderful planet of ours, especially as a young guy… too many never get out of the city… greetings from Romania 👍🏻🇷🇴🇬🇧
The first time I watched this was when you went up to rescue the people stranded at the lookout tower and ever sense then I've watched as many of your videos as I can find. It's really pretty interesting. Great vids.
Casey...I think you should go talk to high school physics classes. I spent a lot of time in school wondering what all that stuff we were learning had to do w/ the real world. You are using all those lessons in the real world every day. I think that would really resonate w/ students...
Great recovery Casey. It looked like a easy recovery because you have alot of knowledge. The best part was the scenery, beautiful canyons, and mountains. Amazing video. Please keep recording cause I'm still watching... Be safe n God bless.
Hey Casey and Grumpy That was a fun video. Having been in many parts of this great country in all kinds of weather I really enjoy videos like this which show the rest of the world what great beauty the USA has. Casey it is clear that you enjoy your job because of the beauty you get to enjoy while on the job. Now, We were happy for you when you got your new gate and disapointed as you were when it went down. But it is time to fix it ! And Grumpy has even offered to help. So stop wallowing in self pitty ! Get er done ! Work Safe, Be Well
I had a long comment written and deleted it. So I could make a longer one..lol I have watched enough of your vids and Matts Offroad recovery vids to see something that you two share. Matt hated winches and you like them. Your explanation in a different video I watched, was a terrific explanation with you doing recoveries by yourself and the winch gives you great control.. Matt knows how to use that rope, and I suspect now that he is using the winch he is starting to see their benefits in different situations. I think as you get used to the rope and realize how the energy is stored and what it's best methods for use are, you will find situations that will favor the recovery rope. We only had chains with hooks when I was younger. I have always had a winch. I was raised in Oregon, snow and Ice, mud etc. I was always the only vehicle out there it seemed, so a winch made perfect sense. What was I going to do with a recovery rope out on the trail alone. Now in California, where I live near the beach, it's all about sand and it's crowded so you are never really alone. The recovery rope or strap is king on the sand.. I use an ARB recovery snatch strap (that's what they call it) it has a 17.5k rating, but I still have a winch. I like your videos. I watched Matts videos from the start. Your vids are good, and all those trees and snow remind me of home, I am going to have to subscribe. Hope you keep making these videos and remember what made them so watchable in the first place, I will give you a hint, it's not the products you may use it's the story and the scenery and of course You..
Matt's also in wide open spaces with no anchor points and if the wheel gets turned the wrong way no big deal Casey's on alot of narrow roads with cliffs or trees if he gave her hell like Matt 1 wrong rut or turn of the wheel a customer ends up over a cliff or in the trees smashed up instead of just stuck
You my friend is what the world needs right now. You have a uplifting spirit about yourself and genuinely love what you do and it show's it! I watch your videos all the time at work lol
awesome rescue Casey! Always great to see your nice neighbor Grumpy along. DAMN those views from above and inside that Canyon!!! So beautiful! Yankum ropes rock!! If a non believer seeing this video still not getting it that's their loss.
Grumpy is so cool and every one should have an oldtimer like that in their life. There is so much wisdom in someone like that. All the best to Grumpy and his fam and to you Casey and your fam from Norway😀👍
Beautiful scenery and got to be one of the best workplace's to be. Matt has Ed and you have Grumpy, the only thing missing is the weather report. Great job guys. ✔👍
Thanks for stopping along the way to let us smell the roses and see the majestic majesty. Driving through Oregon is on my Bucket List. I'll be sure to let the Tourism Board know you introduced me to the scenic sights of the Great Northwest.
I was picking up a shipping container at a job site in Seattle. On my way out of the construction site, I got a pretty decent sized rock super stuck in my dules on a flat bet tow truck. It took 4 dudes, 3 crow bars and about 30 min to get it out.
Even a 32-34" sleeper or anything around that measurement...i would appreciate any help you can provide, even a NOPE, AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN is appreciated... keep your videos coming and i love the short videos...them dogs are deformed raindeers...!!!!😊😊
What an enchantingly beautiful valley!! WoW!!!! This countryside made my jaw drop!! Catching up from your earlier vids when I hadn't 'discovered' you yet. I obviously haven't explored enough of Oregon.
LOL, props to Matts off road recovery! Love to watch your channel Casey, and the different approach you have pulling these out. The guy driving the RV was spot on.
The owner of the RV did a great job. From the very beginning he explained exactly what the situation was without downplaying it at all like most people do, then when it came time to pull him out he had great throttle control. Gave it enough throttle to get moving, but not so much that he dug himself back into the ground
It amazes me how some of the people you go to. Don’t think first before putting there selves in situations like that I have a Motorhome and never put it on soft areas I do have a set of off road ladders that I park it on when even on wet grass
A friend of mine that lived across the Eld Inlet, near Olympia, from me had river rock put on the road to his house. Now he knows why crushed rock is used for roads.
I never knew that RV's are an off road vehicle. Some people have no idea of country driving. Bet those mad buggers are townies and rarely see an open road sign
I watch Matt’s off road recovery then seen your show pretty cool man and your in my back yard bought my dog in sisters Oregon I live In Medford my sons live in Corvallis glad to see your representing our beautiful state
Those nylon tow rope are the cat's meow get enough strain on the rope and hope the other person listening to what your saying and you can pull them out really easy, in my opinion u are so far ahead of some of the older men that I hope they watch what you're doing and I can say that cuz I'm 81 years old. Keep up the good work young man What the hell was he doing out there in the first place???
This is definitely a different way to see this awesome country. Most people see it from the air or super highways and miss the real hardly untouched beauty. Keep up the great videos and awesome work that you do. Also hug your precious daughter.👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
When I travel I never plan on being somewhere at a certain time I never make reservations because I take the 2 lane roads and gravel I also don't mind getting stuck behind farm equipment going down the roads I just throw on my flashers and follow till they can safely get over for me to go around or till they get where they're going whatever comes first it's more beautiful on those roads and more historical sites to see I also carry a topographical atlas instead of a GPS device I do have 1 of those emergency GPS beacons that sends a signal to 911 with GPS cordinance of exactly where you are
I love the fact that Grumpy doesnt have the best understanding of the camera angles, but you just adjust yourself accordingly. Team C&G.... 😂 Nice Johnny Cash reference.. always beautiful scenery & recovery!
Seems like a perfectly reasonable place to drive a two wheel drive behemoth....... River gravel is so well known to just exude traction, being all rounded and non-grippy and all........
If he had momentum and made a wider turn he might've made it either the sharp turn or my guess would be he stopped to camp and couldn't get started again since there was firewood and other signs of camping around my question is why don't camper manufacturers put skid plates covering the bottom of the water and sewer tanks and pipes
@@davidwoermansr well, if the manufacturer out thinks every foolish driver, there will be no revenue from fools who don't recognize what they are driving, the limitations of where they should or should NOT drive and the results of their poor choices. It is SO OBVIOUS that that vehicle has NO BUSINESS being in that spot, on that material.... FOOL BEHIND THE WHEEL, MAKING BAD CHOICES.
@@contactjoy4140 he definitely should've known better then take that turn from that direction I live way back in the sticks you just have to be mindful of road conditions when off paved roads and know how tight a corner you can take I won't take anything over a 90 and it has to have 2 good lanes of travel so I never have to hit steering lock I've had to use my tractor to smooth out 3 miles of road after it dried before pulling mine out of the shed so I knew I wouldn't bottom out in a rut I always have a scout vehicle with me so I can check road conditions before leaving pavement and adjust plans from there
An interesting job , best bit was the scenery . I'm from the UK and visited Oregon back in 1970 , all on the coast , so it was great to see inland . Thanks .
Found your channel yesterday, watched some videos, this one, what a beautiful scenery, so nice. 🙂 Greetings from Oegstgeest, next to Leiden, near Den Haag, the Netherlands.
I like the music you put in your videos...nice gentle upbeat tempo... I also enjoy watching your videos...keep up the good work you do on your videos and thank you for your service for others in need. And I like your personality of telling it like it is

Watching towing didn't seem to be interesting but between you and Matt towing I'm having a blast! Keep'em coming. You got me to sub.
Agreed my 2 favorite channels

I highly agree
Great to see GRUMPY keeping you in check...!!!!
We need more Grumpy! He's one awesome guy. I bet he could tell lots of life stories while you two drive the highways and byways of Central Oregon!
Yes Grumpy! Grumpy!
I know tastes differ, but my word -- that's one of the most beautiful places you've been yet.

The automotive/rescue stuff is great
But I watch for the travelogue on a part of the country rarely shown by other channels. Keep up the good work.
