- Thank you for watching! This week I've been experimenting in the kitchen to create the perfect homemade gelato recipe, with no ice cream maker or machine, just whipping it by hand to get a voluptuous soft texture and intense natural flavour. The perfect dessert in this hot summer we're experiencing in Tuscany, in Italy, and in many parts of the world right now.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

Kylie, mia moglie would walk a kilometer in Florence for an authentic gelato! The taste, the texture, the aroma is so yummy! We can get gelato at the supermarket in little tubs but it’s just not the same. Any chance of a recipe?

Your husband is correct, gelato is definitely taking it to another level. Reminds me of my grandmother who was expert at making homemade ice cream. In her time, the family didn't have ice cream else she made it. You're making cones too, that's too much! I know where to start, but I'll look forward to the 4th batch and the final recipe.

There was an Italian lady in a nearby city who had a restaurant famous for her great food and gelato to die for! I moved my studio out of the city and back home and lost track of her for a bit then found out she closed up and went back to Italy. Seeing your beautiful gelati reminded me of her. I do like taking natural ricotta and mixing natural maple syrup and chocolate chips together for a cold “dessert”-it’s delicious and I can convince myself that it’s also healthy!
Eversince being in Italy, my admiration for gelato has grown and grown in the summer heat. Especially being back in Estonia where something so good like gelato from a street corner in Italy is sooo hard to come by;)
My favourite treat! Years ago in Florence I tried different flavours every day and found my favourite combo- pistachio and nocciola! Which I learned this spring when I visited again is an Italian classic combo! I applaud your efforts in making gelato from scratch! Brava! From Canada with appreciation!

I have made gelato and ice-cream most weeks for the past two years. I have no regrets that I bought an ice-cream maker! Homemade ice-cream is so much better than shop bought and is a treat after dinner.

This gelato definitely seems like a lot of work, but I'm going to keep this in mind for lazy summer Sundays when I want something to do but still want to enjoy a day at home. This was so fun to watch!
I’ve had gelato a couple of times as an ice cream-a-holic and it was definitely memorable and different from regular ice cream. I wouldn’t have believed it could be better than the best ice cream, but it was as good. If not a hair better. ☺️ My mouth was watering watching you make the cones! 😋

I was fortunate to visit Florence about three years ago. We got to enjoy delicious gelato almost every day. My favorite flavor was passionfruit, which is a bit hard to find but so wonderful and worth it! Your gelato looks absolutely amazing!
The only thing I like better than gelato is Kylie! Not a fan of ice cream and gelato is SOOO much better, esp in Florence. GianFranco getting so big!😶🙏 Italians love Stracitella, I like strawberry AND mint

I would say my favourite ice cream flavour is coffee and then coconut and lime, which is lovely and cooling. Will be watching out for the second episode and can't wait to see what will happen in that. Beautiful scenery as always Kylie.
I just don't have the patience to make my own gelato, but fortunately there are some excellent gelateria's nearby.
My favourites are pistachio or black sesame 😋

How wonderful! My mother used to make "icebox ice cream," what is referred to as no churn ice cream these days. I lived in New York City once upon a time and delicious gelato could be found in Little Italy. 😋 I love your flavor choices! Here in the US butter pecan and rum raisin are also favorites, in my circles anyway. One tip for your beautiful cones to help stop leaks, you can put a small amount of melted chocolate or a caramel that will solidify - just a bit in the bottom tip, enough to create a delicious edible plug! The last icebox ice cream that I made was vanilla toasted almond, another good choice! Stay cool, you cool kids! 🤗 😁

Love gelato-tastes the best when I’m in Italy. I usually like frutta but a scoop of chocolate with a scoop of pera is a favorite. I agree with what you said about trying to make every ingredient in a recipe. So satisfying!
Oh my gosh, I love gelato I love ice cream and yes it’s always been a dream of fantasy of mine to open up an ice cream Gelateria!! why don’t you try spumoni which is truly not an Italian flavor, but we have it here in America and we love it! My favorite is mint and chip and any coffee flavored ice cream or gelato! I thought stracciatella was famous in Italy! Yes, there are many recipes here in the United States that are capable of being made at home without an ice cream maker. I choose as well because it would be quite dangerous to my waist line to have one of those machines and/or continuously try out new flavors. The recipes are super easy and not as laborious as yours but I think yours probably tasted so famously, especially the orange and chocolate together!Brava, brava!! Delicioso

My favourite flavour is anything citrus! Especially lemon 🍋 also pistachio. I had wonderful mint gelato once made with fresh mint from the garden. Matcha is also a favourite!!!

I had gelato as a little girl in my first neighbourhood ... I now live a two minute drive from Lamannas Bakery ... it is posted on Facebook and people post as they come from around the world for this family's homemade food...the gelato is out of this world in many flavours...my husband has complained about the price...however, that first lick makes all the thought of price stop...that is the same for all of my family...watching you make this undesirable product was a lesson indeed...thank you 😊
