yesssss thank you for making japanese recipes for the more fitness minded! I've been trying my hand at it a lot lately myself. I made an egg white tamagoyaki the other day and I have to say that it makes plain egg whites taste great because of the mirin, dashi, and other seasonings/toppings!
So glad you like the idea of this channel! I wanted to bring Asian food into the fitness world haha. Oh man, that sounds so interesting, an egg white tamagoyaki!! High protein, low fat, tons of flavor. Might have to steal that from you 😂
@@Phillpak give it a try! If you make a better recipe then I’ll def switch to using yours! I had it with a bowl of riced cauliflower (not that I’m a carbophobe) that I flavored with some dashi and furikake and tbh it was not bad! Rice will always be better, but I think if you just see it as a vegetable side dish, it’s good in its own right
Tip for cooking any type of ground meat, put it into a hot pan and flatten it out a little but don't poke at it or break it up, let it brown then flip it over and do the same again, this allows the meat to brown without it stewing. It will still be cooked evenly if you break it up and cook it through afterwards, but it'll taste so much better.
My favorite vids are always the ones where your mom guest spots! I learned how to cook Japanese food from my mom, I'm so thankful in my fitness journey that I know how to hit my macros with Asian food (not just boiled chicken breast and brown rice lol). Your videos are great meal inspiration!
yo just found your channel Phill!! this is awesome shit hahaha - love your mom and loving all the recipes my man - definitely adding a couple of these to my recipe list! subscribed dude 😍
I love buying this bento when I can't be bothered to cook. instead of the negi, uou could also use spinach or a similar mild flavoured green thing. Loved the presentation!
Bento boxes in Japan where way better than anything I can make so I totally feel you. Definitely will take that suggestion for next time around. Thank you so much (:
I'm slightly confused about the "soy" sauce used as I saw you use the Kikkoman terriyaki sauce. Does that work as the same thing? Is that the same thing? Also thanks so much for the content, not enough people like you are making Japanese style healthy food.
Thank you so much!! Really appreciate the kind words. Sure can, we have some on the channel. They're the Korean and Taiwanese Meal Prep. Thanks for watching!
