Hello, would an exterior hillside stair of nine steps of an 8" rise, 11" thread with a 1-1/2" overhang be extreme? I have a 74" height x 87" run parameter.
No use by kids or elders, it's to access a perched landing on my hillside.

I can't tell you to build something that won't meet your local building codes. But if they do, then go for it.

I know this is an old post, but you can build any size stairs that are manageable. My uncle make stairs that were 1 ft high and a little over 1 ft wide and we managed just fine. Obviously, it will be more manageable and safer if you had a hand rial.
