Hi Christine. I’ve found out that if the paper doesn’t come off from the iron, DONT wash! Put them in the freezer for a week or more and you’ll find they peel off. The longer you can leave in the freezer the easier they come off. Hope this helps.

Great video! I like the black one the best but they are all great! When I make bags, I leave a section of the top open where I connect the outer and the lining. Then that way I just sew it closed when I do the top stitch closed so I don’t have to do the extra closure. Only mentioning it because I know you like making things as quickly as possible. I’m like you, I love efficiency 😂😂😂

Thank you BG. I think back in my quilting days I did this technique, and didn't like how the fabric would sit. Possibly due to the batting. I might have to do a time trial for myself😃

The bags are great Christine. There are many combinations of how you could put them together. The strips with he paper backing would make great bookmarks, stitch or glue them with paper sides together round off or taper one end put an eyelet in them & thread a tassel, ribbon, wool or string through it. Maybe you could stick them to some cork or thin mdf for coasters You’ve got me thinking now as to what else you could do with them. Love your work, thank you 🪡🧵😀

Soaking will make the paper easier to remove but will still leave a lot of the glue. I’ve just been given about 25 books of varying sizes and am making bags just as you are here. Some fabric does get wasted but less than would be without making the bags!

Fantastic job Christine! I was able to snag several of the fabric swatch books from a local store that is going out of business. While not free, anywhere from $2 to $7 each was still a great bargain. The amount of bags and pouches I can make out of each, almost negates the small fee. And it keeps them out of the landfill. Love the inspiration you give us. Note: I use my crafting heat gun to release the glued on paper, leaves very little residue (not sticky). With those scraps the paper won't come off, others have mentioned great ideas! tags, business cards, bookmarks.

Love those Bags!! Another great project to use those fabric swatches. The only place I've found to get swatch samples, sells theirs but I do use Tea towels. You know those lovely ones you don't want to use.
You can get a 1 longer or 1 shorter bag out of each tea towel, I even get enough to make the straps. If you unpick the side seams you get about 2" of extra fabric. ( I find it quite relaxing big stitches I guess?)
    I like the shorter bag.
