  • Just a video showing the (mostly) correct procedures and methods that I use during an IFR flight (fog/darkness) from Chicago, Illinois to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
    A couple notes...
-I apologize about the audio clipping, but after spending hours and hours trying to properly set up microphone and have it not be too quiet or echoey or have my surroundings being too loud, this is about as good as it's going to get. Still though, it's a massive improvement over the audio quality of my first video!
-I should have slowed down a little sooner during landing, would have avoided triggering all of those GPWS alarms... I was unaware that this particular runway was not equipped with a DME, which is what I usually rely on as far as my speed/when to deploy landing gear, but overall, it was no problem.
    Flight Information:
Route: Chicago, Illinois - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
    Season: Fall
    Time: 16:45
    Weather: Fogged In
    Joystick: Logitech Extreme 3D Pro
    Controls:
    1: (trigger): Brakes
2: (side thumb): Landing Gear Extract/Retract
    3: Trim Nose Up
    4: Retract Flaps
    5: Trim Nose Down
    6: Extend Flaps
    7: Turn On/Off Auto Throttle
    8: Turn On/Off Master Autopilot
9: Turn Autobrake Knob to the left
10: Turn Autobrake Knob to the right
    11: Arm Speed Brake
12: Engage Reverse Thrust (slowing after landing)
-Finally, the point of this video is not to prove that I could do this in real life (I absolutely couldn't), this is for the people who are 90% capable of doing an entire flight in the 737-800, that are just missing one or two things and want to see what to do.
If you have any comments, positive or negative, or any constructive criticism or suggestions please let me know! I will personally respond to each & every comment.

Thank you!! Certainly better than my first video but I still have a lot of things to improve on, but I figure this is atleast a passable demonstration for anybody needing help learning this aircraft.

Thank you! And I downloaded it from flyawaysimulation.com/ check them out! You can get different paint jobs, different interiors, terrain edits/improvements, new planes, and a bunch of other cool stuff too. They have a TON of stuff for FSX.

@@jimmy0931 lemme see if I can find it... I love the upgrade because not only does it make it look a lot better it makes a lot of switches work that didn't before... Like the light switches on the overhead panel as well as the autobrake switch on the 3d cockpit, among others.
If you watch my other video (landing Boeing 737 in New York) you'll see a passanger window frame view of the wing that I downloaded from that site, as well as notice how long the wing looks compared to the standard FSX wing view, also got the new camera angles from that site, it's great!

I'm 99 percent sure this is it: flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/15399/fsx-boeing-737-800-cockpit-textures-upgrade/
I would also recommend downloading this as well! It's 180 different paint/companies to use! If I remember correctly these also use an upgraded cockpit AND these ones also have cabin announcements like "food will now be served" and cool stuff like that!:

Ur putting out flaps at 288 knots? At 28k ft? Those flaps would’ve already went out in real life …

A habit I successfully broke finally lol. For some reason it would permit you to use the first two levels of flaps at any speed, so unfortunately it became part of my automatic routine. Don’t do it anymore! :)
