1st rule to landing, don't crash. Getting it off the ground is easy, getting it back down in one piece is the true challenge.
Yeah it's definitely the hardest part of any flight!
Just made my first landing with the boeing today, i feel so accomplished lol
@@quickstergamestutorialsgam3899 I know that feeling! I felt extremely proud of my self and excited when I landed my first plane.
@@thestealthyassassintsa7403 I'm gonna attempt it today!
@@mimted2614 Nice!
I really enjoy when people make fun of a tutorial not using the PMDG. Come on guys... does not matter what plane we fly, we are all simmers, we are all playing flight simulator.
This video is about tips for a manual landing, and he did a good job
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the video and thanks for watching!
Chri Man me too
If you hit Shift+/ (no need to hold it down) before you land it'll arm your spoilers and they will deploy automatically when the rear wheels touchdown. Also by simply holding down your / key it'll cause your spoilers to flutter and reduce your speed and lift but not to a deprishable level. It might cause your nose to pop up depending on aircraft configuration but just correct with trim and you should be fine.
Yeah I've got an article about the auto-arm spoilers on my website, but thanks anyway!
Your channel helped me improve my fsx gaming experience😆
It's really good to hear that! So glad I've helped you out - thanks for watching :)

Great video
Great tips
Thanks very much ! Very helpful and instructive. You are a good Teacher
If you had the runway heading, you could set that to make it easier to line up with
Very good and informative video! Thank you. :-)
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!
You deserve way more success mate
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Great video and big like
Thank you so much for liking! glad you found it useful!
That’s how I do IFR direct gps flights. I follow the vectors from ATC as far as when to descend and which runway to land on. When I’m about 10 miles out, I disengage the auto pilot and auto throttle. I try to be fully configured for landing before I intercept the runway glide slope and descend about 700fpm. I start my flare at about 10’ above the runway. As long as you touch down at 300fpm which is about 6’ a second, your airframe should be safe.
Good Video!
Thanks for the info and I'm glad you enjoyed the viddo!
Well done mate nice little tutorial the new Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 is going to be amazing I am so excited are you?

I'm glad you like the video and thank you for your support!
Oh lol you do activate vectors to final i did not know that tysm xD
Aha happy to help!
how come yours dosent tell you too pull up, sink rate, dont sink?
This is the default Boeing 787-800. This aircraft does not have that feature included.
787? Title says 737 lol.
It has those annoying warnings for me in the default 737-800 on fsx
Yeah meant 737
did you get your default 737-800 from fly away simulations?
nice video
It's good to hear you like the video! Thanks for watching.
Don't forgot tomorrow's live stream at 18:00 BST.
Thanks!
No problem!
Very nice thanks, I learnt a lot from this,I am unable to land unless on ILS and now you have shown how to land using GPS.
I'm really glad the video helped you out! Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe!
I like that he doesn't even request for runway clearance
Haha yeah it's just a tutorial to show how to land, ATC's another video :)
*landing clearance*
Thank you, muito obrigado
nice videos
Thanks for your support!
excellent
Thanks!
Hey, great tutorial! I'm a bit confused with the speed brake, what do I do with it and when, how? Also, when can I start descending as low as possible, when the last informarion from ATC is for example maintain 2000 feet and I'm already over the runway. Should I somewhere find the allowed airspaces, and start descending when I enter an airspace that allows flying below 2000 feet? Or can I just fly at like 500 feet for like 10NM if I wanna make sure I won't miss the landing?
You can watch my video and read my article on the speed brake at jfv.tv/flightpath
Thanks Jack great vidio i have trouble landing take of is no problem ?
i always fuck up my approach cause im either too high or too low. But this video kind of helped me line up which was a big mistake of me as well! Thanks
Glad the video helped you! Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe!
I love the way you said now. I dont know I like how you say now.
Haha yeah apparently I do say it a bit weird, but sounds even more obvious with my mic
Is this the same for P3D as well? If not, could you please do a similar tutorial for P3D? I loved this tutorial!
Sorry I'm not too sure as I've hardly used P3D since coming into hospital :)
Nice tutorial, à bit late but Well done
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I'm not sure what you mean about it being late - could you explain?
big up luton
Never even flown from there myself 😂
your loc was on when you disgage the ap . so how you could control the aloranse?
How do you get the view of seeing the whole cockpit at once.I can only see the drivers window and and half the cockpit unless I scroll around in virtual cockpit
Just zoom out with the minus (-) key :)
Sir your fsx videos are awsome! I have a question for you, what is the difference between full ILS landing and autopilot landing?
Thanks! Appreciate that! ILS lands the aircraft completely whereas autopilot landings only guide the aircraft towards the runway, importantly ILS manages the aircraft decent rate as well. You can watch my ILS tutorial on my channel :)
Hey! Thanks so much for these videos, all the other ones are veryyy old and they barely tell you what to do. But I have a question, I don't have a yoke yet, so how do I fly with my arrow keys without the yoke being so stiff? It moves 1 by 1, not smoothly if you know what I am talking about.
I'm glad you're finding the videos useful! You can find all of the key commands for FSX on my website here - www.jacksfsxvideos.com/fp-key-commands. You can also press Ctrl+Y to control the aircraft with your mouse.
RWY Turn off lights can be turned on at 10000ft so they have them ready during landing. Sometimes they are also used for taxiing.
Yes, I forgot to mention this in the video. Thanks for watching!
I never knew the default plane was this automated :O
Yes, you can actually use all of the autopilot on this aircraft.
It's actually quite decent.
Jack How do U make those camera movments in the Intro?
Hey sir, why when i activated my landing approach, my GPS became blank. No line, no map, just black screen with my airplane logo. And there's a VORDME approach, what's that?
hey , thanks for your great videos !just i want to know what is the difference between the flight simulator x (steam edition ) and the gold edition and the other flight simulator x`s ??? is the A340 on the steam edition???and should i buy the airplanes???/
FSX: SE includes the Acceleration and Gold packs for normal FSX. The A340 is not on any default FSX and buying aircraft is up to you, it's your money :)
How did you learn all this. Any tips on learning what all the buttons are used for quickly to help me fly fluently
At first, just from figuring it out and then YT tutorials and written tutorials, you can use the key commands table at jfv.tv/flightpath
my plane never slows fast enough. I go slower and lower than you should but still. I land at Bromma airport. Is it too small? Is there any ype of brake for the wheels i dont know about? I always set reverse thrust full flaps and speedbrakes... Anything rlse to slow me down?
A 737 needs a landing distance of around 4,500 feet, does that airport have a runway that long? Are you landing at the correct landing speed? You should be using spoilers, reverse thrust and then brakes (at 60 knots). Also try using the auto-brake I mentioned in this video :)
Should we change VFR to ILS in flight planning?
very helpful! one thing though; how do you see how many degrees you are flaring?
Thank you! You can look at the Primary Flight Display to see the degrees the aircraft is pitched at. It's the blue and red/orange display directly in-front of you - the numbers are listed on there.
I like your video. I think you have done a very good Job. My question is can you do the approach and land the Boeing complete manually? thanks again for the video!
Yeah of course, you can land any aircraft manually :) Glad you liked it!
I having trouble when i try to land at denpasar, bali(WADD) i set the aproach mode on gps but its not line up straight with the runway. So i try to land manually and its work, the only thing i need to improve is to flare and to brake. Can you give me tips to make my landing perfect next time ?
hold the brake before the runway cuts off.
When should I start to descend? When in how far away from the airport.
Just follow ATC instructions and they'll guide you down to intercept the ILS
do you use mouse for plane steering because my steering is like i use down up buttons and when i press down button 3 times plane is going up but when i stop pressing my steering stays like that briefly i want my plane steering like your one...
No I use a joystick for FSX, I would highly recommend you get one as it makes flying so much easier
When first time I play this fsx, it was dificult to land to airport. I'm not ordinary. Especially to make it centre line. How to do that.
Landing light should be turn on under 10,000 and turnoff when over 10,000 great vid you earn subscribe
Yes, you're correct. I do mention this is many videos - plus it does say in this video to have them on. Thanks for subscribing and the support!
No matter how good or bad my landing is, always on touchdown (on the runway), it says I crashed like wtf. Ive only gotten 1 succesful landing, but wtf is going on can someone help me? (I dont land with ILS, I land manually)
Nice tutorial. How do I activate auto brake on the default 737-800. It doesn't work using mouse pointer. Thanks
Autobrake is always just the forward slash key (/), or try this article I wrote - www.jacksfsxvideos.com/fp-arm-auto-spoiler
In reality... The front gears touch down much later after the main gears do... But I don't know why in fsx, (or I might be doing something wrong).... Front gears wont wait even 2 secs and would just bang into the runway.... Pls give an advice on this!!
You can definately hold the joystick whilst you allow the aircraft move further down the runway
@@JacksFSVideos thnx brother, I'll try that
HI, what is the better way to turn the 737 on the FSX, on taxi way? thank you
You can watch my How to Taxi video for that :)
How did you get the camera and f2 did not work for me and how did you get the good graphics in side the aircraft
If you're referring to the camera angles, I use Ezdok for them. Are you pressing F2 to reverse the engine thrust? If so, then the key command should work - make sure it's set up correctly in your Control Settings. I achieve the graphics inside the aircraft cockpit by simply increasing the Graphics in Settings.
went a long time of figuring out where i was going pretty much with out the gps and landed with no help or know how when to turn towards the airport to land with out killing me and my passengers! XD pretty much was flying a plane with only the controls to fly it! XD
I'm glad it sounds like this video has now helped you out! Thanks for watching!
Cannot find the link where you show how to taxi a 737-800.
Try the description :)
ATC asked me to descend and maintain 2100 so I did. And decreased speed to around 155+ (I tried many different speed at different time ofcourse gradually decreasing them) but nose will be facing upwards and I cant see the runway so when I disengage the autopilot to see the runway the aircraft suddenly falls down below 1000 feet, till I recover either I crash or miss the approach. Why my nose is too upwards? And not his in this video, somebody tell me where am I going wrong... (Flaps gradually used according to speed, landing speed I used 140-144 knots)
Johny Wesco hey friend make sure your flaps are all down 30 degree at 155knots then youll be able to see runway and plane wont do unnecessary pitch up 👍🏻
and also make sure your speed brakes are not engaged
Your speed sounds too low, you should still be at around 200 when first decending to your final altitude :)
some times When i set my altitude to Like less it will crash to the ground
Please what moving map do you use in fsx i use fsx aswell so i can learn from that
I'm just using the default GPS by pressing Shift+3 :)
I ve tried it like 10 times. I overspeed and crash or the plane does not route to the runway.Cant seem to get it right. Please help !
Try the written version of the tutorial at jfv.tv/flightpath
Hi buddy I try to do exactly as per your instructions.. Iam not able to see the airasia airplane in my fsx I use windows 10 hp pavilion gaming 15 laptop.. Can you help me out on this
Are you sure you have the right tutorial?
Can this be used after take off to line up with destination airport?
Yep, that's exactly what this video is showing, a landing after take-off :)
Your cockpit is very well detailed while mines isn't that clear. How did you get this? Sorry if this was a stupid question, Thanks!
If you go into Settings and turn up your Graphics and Aircraft sliders up, that should work :)
@@JacksFSVideos ah, thanks!
Hi Jack can u show me how to the stratojet for fs2004 ils
Land the stratojet
Im a fan of x plane11 it looks good fsx
Dude you land so go I always mess that up or I flare to early. I can never get straight landing unless I'm using the smaller airplanes.
Try my tutorial on how to land on the centreline
What’s the best computer to buy for fsx so it’s not laggy and runs smoothly but is not expensive? Also great video 👍
If recommend i5 processor and 8GB RAM with 4GB graphics card
agree, running FSX on i5 and 4GB RAM and it's close to perfect. The more addon you wanna use, the more RAM you need though. Gotta be careful.
