The faun pattern is most often seen in people who have very limited access to resources.
Fawning it explains why trauma survivors can seem naive even if they have seen things most people can't even imagine.
Pete Walker’s work on CPTSD has al ot of info on the 4Fs and mixed types as well
Thank you so much for explaining this as I can now understand my shutdown trauma after a Fawn response and the absolute terror to compliance behavior in childhood. Thank you you so, so much.
You're welcome.
That's a really helpful explanation, thank you. Pretty much nailed how it feels when I fawn. Loss of self with that constant hypervigilance.
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for leaving a comment.
@@JustinLMFT you're welcome! I'm really liking your work.
One of the better videos on this fawning topic so many of us struggle with
thank you -!!
You're welcome, I'm really glad it was helpful!
I'm 73. My first 9 years was in very remote bush Alaska. Unfortunately I now intellectually understand they were insane and sadistic and, yep I was the pain barer. Any hope for me? Fortunately I am pro active about health including mental health and have over 40 years of once weekly 'shrink' appointments. Adult Child stuff. But still the deep revulsion I feel about having FAWNED constantly to protect myself and the younger ones. Epic Shame Load. Thanks
Some great explanations and summaries that resonate with me...
Thank you for this explanation!
You're very welcome!
Chronic dis connection, and being attacked put me in shutdown 5 years there now 😢
Brilliant and thank you. This is an education that I need.

Is fawning a leant behaviour in humans?
This was nothing BUT psychobabble...
Welcome to RUclips 😊
Not if you’ve been there!
