I don't think Meruem can absorb powers from people by eating them. I know he gets stronger from eating people with Nen powers, buts that's more a quantitive change. He doesn't get new powers like that Kamehameha at the end.

canyounotsee you are improperly power scaling. Nobody ever got to see the full extent of Meruems power. He didn’t die by the nuke, the nuke had poison and it specifically said that anyone infected will die by the poison. Yes cell can destroy the solar system. But dragon ball has one of the most ridiculously op power systems in anime. The reality of it is, is that they are from two very different universes. 1 where anyone could blow up a planet. And one where nobody could. It’s all in the thought of it. Yes I think cell realistically wins because of the way his character was built. But Cell wasn’t the most powerful of characters in DB, Meruem even after death couldn’t be surpassed. Even when Gon had used his full potential power, meaning that’s the strongest he will ever get, he only rivaled meruems power. Then Meruem went on and got even more strength from eating Pouf and Youpi.

doesn't matter, if goku (in super) fights Master roshi, he is not going super sayan 3 or ssj blue. He stays in base form. Same with cell, he just scales with the opponent. And Cell will get eaten like that because he doesn't understand that the opponent has nen. Remember, if you have paper in your hand and add nen, it becomes a knife which cuts steel. Nen is way stronger than ki or chakra so if Cell is scaling with the opponent then Mereum eats Cell. But the video maker forgot that cell can then power up and eat mereum. They can eat each other until one gives.

But yeah, none of them can, seeing as Goku as a kid reached light speed back in Dragon Ball by outrunning solar flash, which is a technique that's as fast as light, grabbed Roshi's glasses and went back to where he was before. Most fighting DBZ characters speed blitz everyone in not just HunterxHunter, but also Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tail, and most others. There are few anime series out of them all that have characters above those of the DB series, mainly those in Super.

I've Seen both Hunter x Hunter and DBZ and am Huge fans of both, HXH mercs dbz in terms of story and characters but not in fights, Meruem got taken out by a town level nuke, if you read Hunter x Hunter you'll see why this video is inaccurate

Actually, phagogenesis doesn't work that way... But I still give it to Meruem as he is faster if you look at how each world would be realistically. DBZ says a lot of things, such as light speed, but then goes right around and says people can see the fight occurring. Which means it is likely only happening NEAR light speed. Meruem on the other hand, can't even see Netero's movements in most circumstances, but can keep up with him due to his proficiency with Nen (ie: tracking movements through literally feeling body energy). This is truly light speed. And with Meruem's high tactical prowess... The winner should be Meruem on these terms, but should be Cell saying he actually moved past the speed of light and DBZ has some other form of sight similar to In.

Honestly, my take on this battle is Cell HEAVILY underestimated Meruem in the beginning, so Cell didnt even bother to go all out, which is what let Meruem bite into his arm, giving him a power boost due to how Meruem works. I do question why Cell didn't just regenerate the arm though, he CAN do that, and him not doing that put him at a disadvantage. If we were being 100% realistic though, Cell would squash Meruem easily, but then we wouldnt have a fight now would we?

Here's how i explain Meruem winning.
Cell only noticed Meruem by the time he was done mopping up the Z fighters. One of those is Piccolo, who regenerates limbs and doesn't even need to reattach them - in fact Cell's regen is just a better form of Piccolo's. Now, Meruem is someone who could from birth, tell strong organisms apart from weak. Later he gets the ability to literally sense every single atom around him perfectly as well as the changes over time. So he is very perceptive, and *could have easily eaten one of Piccolo's limbs that Cell parted*, even a single cell [no pun intended] would be enough, and Meruem would know it would make him a thousand times stronger. What the non HxH-watchers also have to understand is that Meruem was a malnourished infant. His potential was such that he could easily master Chi within seconds after eating Piccolo, its even higher than Cell's talent, even if he started off a million times weaker. He can read minds and after one minute he was able to guess, out of infinite possible attacks the one attack that was used by reading attack patterns, so as long as he comes close to the sphere of Cell's speed [which he would upon gaining Chi in addition to his own abilities], he has a real chance of dodging a casual attack.
*So how does he manage to take off the arm?*
Well, Meruem has one ability in particular that even Cell lacks - Nen. Nen is similar to Chi, but the user spends his own life force instead of energy... its like a internalized Chi with more control. Meruem's Nen abilities in general rise proportionally compared to the strength of whatever he feeds on. So upon feeding on Piccolo, his Nen could easily multiply by thousand. And a Nen attack is said to be lethal to anyone who doesn't have Nen - only Nen can protect from Nen. Now obviously this doesn't mean that a random Nen user stands a chance at harming Cell, but a Nen user stronger than Cell Saga Piccolo, who can ALSO use Chi a million times better than Piccolo [yes DBZ fans, trust me, he's THAT talented] would be able to slice off an arm against a Cell expecting a easy kill with these combined powers. And unlike Cell, Meruem can at a glance tell exactly how strong someone is. He has nigh omnipotence by the end of the Chimera Ant Saga, so he would know exactly how much Nen and Chi is required and probably even figure out a weak point in the few moments that Meruem knows Cell is about to attack him due to reading Cell's mind. Again, he predicted a single attack out of infinite options within a minute.
After he gets the arm, its officially over. Meruem becomes a stronger, more talented and infinitely smarter Cell. Perfect Cell had reached the peak of his evolution, Meruem was a infant who could already instantly master any ability he required within seconds, and has the same copying ability as Cell except that he enhances way better. He turned an ability to spread spores over a single target to read their emotions into a passive, limitless mind reading ability that doesn't require spores or anything. GG.
Closing statement: This is not to say that Meruem wins this every time. Even after acquiring Piccolo's cells and abilities, he should still be below Cell. But Cell's inability to understand what a *potential* threat Meruem is to him is what got him - honestly, even Base Meruem is a bigger threat to him than Piccolo... you could feed him the Androids, and he gains something better than infinite stamina. Give him Goku's cells and he would be stronger than Jiren after training for a week. But assuming Meruem did NOT eat Piccolo's Cells before this fight started though, Cell would have blitzed Meruem and taken his head off in his sleep.

I'll start off by saying kill that whole cell doesn't have nen like nen is something special that bypasses anyone without it durability in different verses. You aren't going to drop a planet buster or higher character into hxh and have them get eaten because they have no nen so that argument is invalid.
Let's move on to the part about piccolo. Here's the thing piccolo at the end of the cell saga is massively weaker than ssj1 Vegeta and trunks (grade one alone) to the point where they would effortlessly one shot him with no difficulty yet Goku who was a good deal above the both of them couldn't finish off cell or even close so even if he ate piccolo and become as strong or slightly stronger he would still be fodder to vegeta and trunks in grade 1 and Goku who are stronger than them so yeah no.
I love this part about meruem potential. Let's talk about how cell is a child, has never trained, and has the cells of frieza, Goku, Vegeta, and piccolo. So cell by the end of the arc post zenkai is solar system lvl. Cell has never trained but he has frieza cells. The same frieza that you know became multi-universal within 4months of training. Goku absorbs ssg into his base so at least universal base. He can stack ssj1 which alone is 50× so 50× universal let alone ssj2-ssg and ssb which is 50× stronger than ssg which alone is also a massive increase that took Goku from multi-solar system lvl to universal possibly multi-universal yet here is frieza fighting a stronger Goku using ssb. Frieza in golden was stronger than ssb Goku and Vegeta in rof. Saiyans also grow at a rapid rate so you got frieza cells amped by saiyans cells meaning cell could train for less than for months and become massively stronger than frieza was in rof. Let's see frieza was only dwaft star lvl to star lvl at best while cell was solar system buster. Both never trained pre dbs but cell has another set of cells that amp frieza cells. Cell is also basically a baby or a child himself same as meruem so unless his potential is massively above multi-universal with just 4months of training actually even less than his potential isn't close to cell bruh. Let's say he can master ki. You leave out the fact that mastery means absolutely nothing when you are massively weaker than your opponent otherwise roshi would solo all the z fighters with years of more experience but mastery of ki doesn't actually boost your power and help you against character who can one shot you casually. It doesn't make you faster or stronger but training does and I already proved above that cell potential is massively above meruem. So if they actually train it would be worse for him.
Back to this nen argument. People with no nen in hxh are at most peak human so saying nen is more deadly to basically peak human lvl character or slightly above isn't a valid argument here at all especially in an entirely different verse. That's where that whole nen argument falls apart. Especially that only nen can protect from nen which again isn't valid here unless you can back that it bypasses or has the same rule for aliens and creatures from other verses. Again characters(Vegeta and trunks) who can one shot cell saga piccolo casually while not at their strongest who are also weaker than 2 characters(ssj1 Goku and ssj1 gohan) by a good amount can put down cell even pre zenkai. Meruem would do absolutely no damage to cell.

Again cell has the knowledge of other fighters and he mastered ki with no training. That's the thing he would never get that arm even if you want to argue cell was off guard. Let's see cell who has frieza cells, regen which frieza does not, and is massively stronger than frieza who took a planet exploding on him while unconscious and half dead. Cell while focusing all of his energy on gohan took off guard shots from Vegeta who even while weekend would still be massively above piccolo.

Go learn what nigh omnipotent means, if he was nigh omnipotent that bomb wouldn't have killed him and he wouldn't be able to do almost anything he wanted. He would be able to create and destroy nearly anything and everything in the verse which isn't backed up by anything. Nigh omnipotent is right below omnipotent which he isn't even close to. If you mean nigh omniscient or omniscient then you're still wrong because that requires nearly all to all knowledge on everything in his verse which he clearly doesn't have. Looking at a person and reading how much power you need to use on them, how much skill, they have, and how strong they are isn't some special ability. Many characters in many verses have that ability including characters like Goku who looked at cell himself and knew he would lose just by simply looking at him then having a simple convo. How does that help him against characters who can blitz and one shot him? Flash can think of over a billion or million thinks within less than seconds yet he still get dropped by characters stronger and faster than him.

Base is with no amps. So no base piccolo is a bigger threat to cell. Neither are a threat to cell tbh. You forgot the part where infinite is literally infinite so there's no better version of infinite. Frieza who has better cells and potential than Goku trained for 4 months then more months and still wasn't anywhere near jiren suppressed power but sure. Cell would have a better shot a jiren seeing as he was stronger than frieza at the start with no training and by the end of the arc he was massively stronger with no training. Show me meruem getting massively stronger by eating simply an arm, getting massively stronger by eating on someone with no nen, and just by eating the arm of someone with no nen. Also mind being kind enough to show me someone with no nen in hxh being massively stronger than characters with nen yet getting killed because they have no nen. I'm talking small hill to country lvl type of massively stronger.
Here are more reasons why meruem isn't sneaking cell. He has the knowledge of at least older versions of Goku who could feel slight movements in the wind in case you want to use he can't sense him argument. A rusty gohan beat a character who he couldn't sense, and they can hear movements in general. So someone slower isn't blitzing cell.

Cell was a villain that wasn't too overpowered and so wasn't perfect. Frieza and the android were either born or made to be the strongest, whereas Cell had to absorb the androids to become perfect. Cell might not have had the same amount of character development as Mereum but that's only because Toriyama had to re-write the main antagonist 3 times before it was accepted by his editors

Okay so here is my opinion after watching both HxH and DBZ: Cell should have won.
Clearly. Meruem got stomped by that small rose explosion (been a while since I saw HxH), while Cell is considered stronger than Frieza who could destroy a planet.
Meruem survived the rose explosion and it wasn't the explosion that was supposed to kill him it was the poison that was released along with it that spreads instantly that was supposed to kill him.
Cell was solar system level. Mureem or how ever you spell it faced the Brama who is omnipotent and at least universal level. Also he even resisted the Brama's attacks.
