you should match up characters with similar abilities like Superman V Sentry, Hulk vs Doomsday and Thor vs captain marvel. most of DC heroes are extremely overpowered at their maximum potential, they just dont display their full power that often.. the original avengers wouldnt stand a single chance against the justice league. but Xmen might have a chance

...Can we... I mean wait seriously can we put aside fanbases and tastes for a sec here and adress just how amazingly well done this was? Like, I've read the comment section and realize that some people are already doing that, but... SERIOUSLY, Mali, You've done so well with this one in particular. OMM's been doing good ever since it began, but I especially liked the choreography of this oen coupled with the comedy.

Yeah, its just for fun which most don't realize. Bit I've been preferring One Minute Melee over Db and Dbx from Screwattack. I also like this sort of cross over universe they're doing with these stories and fights.
Isaiah Garraway I still don't get how they don't realize it, since it clearly states "no research" and all. But yeah exactly! They've started doing that more extensively with Season 3, and it's aweosme for them to add actual context to these fights.The whole thing is so much fun.
Shell Master Tortwag I'd say its better than Death Battle and DBx... DBx has really been lacking so far with very few exceptions. Other times it looks like they didnt even try.
Isaiah Garraway It is to me too, though Death Battle had enough ups - despite its downs - to keep me hooked.
As for DBx, well... ...Alucard happened.
Shell Master Tortwag DB has equal amounts of good and bad ones but DBx...Jesus! The worst ones were the Saitama vs Kenshiro, Spiderman vs Mikasa and Sakura vs that girl from fate stay night. These were horribly animated and paced.
The best part about OMM is that rarely do any of these fights constitute one character killing another and, in the case of two good-aligned characters fighting, they often question why they're fighting in the first place and make up by the end of it. Unlike DB, it manages to keep everyone in line with who they are and how they act in their respective universes, rather than changing who they are to get some carnage out of a fight.
And about this fight in particular, it's no surprise that Piccolo lost. J'onn is, as many people so often forget, as strong as Superman. A+ battle, I like it.
OMM has the advantage of not being bound to Death Battles rules (mainly, that someone has to die). Death Battle has the advantage of analysis to justify their decisions, but OMM is able to keep the combatants in-character while still providing a satisfying fight.
(Most of the time. Some of their fights are a little too one-sided to be that entertaining.)
OMM has actually gotten some characters personalities wrong and people have expressed frustration about that.

@@stephenwells6434 Sorry for the late response, but Death Battle analysis is sooooo inaccurate or surface level that there really is no point to it.
Power scaling in general is pretty dumb because comics don't convey much and most of what characters say is just bullshit. Yet DB takes it seriously.
So, by all accounts, Death Battle is just a weaker OMM because their fights are kinda hit or miss with how much they change the animation.
@@maxord11 I agree with you that some of Death Battle's fights have been poorly researched. Take the Sonic vs. Mario rematch or Ben 10 vs. Green Lantern. In both cases, a more accurate analysis of the combatants' abilities would have resulted in a different outcome.
My point was that they at least present their reasoning for why they think somebody would win over somebody else. Whether or not you agree with their analysis is another matter. And for the record, I do prefer One Minute Melee.

That's because the adaptations always make MMH out to be a chump. New 52 MMH stalemated the New 52 Justice League (and New 52 MMH was weaker than Post-Crisis MMH, who is the current canon MMH).
Post-Crisis J'onn held his own against a bloodlusted Superman (for a time), beat Ultraman with ease (without telepathy) and when amped into Fernus stomped the Justice League three times, and killed between dozens to hundreds (the number of White Martians in the Phantom Zone is inconsistent) White Martians at once.

Right now I'm reading the comments, and what surprises me is how OP this Martian Man Hunter really is. But here is the question (since I'm not a comic book reader): what is even challenge for those strong guys like this? Or do writers come up with new bullshit villain with super (anti reading mind or something like that) abilitys every time?
First, how is Dragonball any different in that aspect at this point? Second, there are more ways to challenge someone beyond physical challenges.

@Irfan Alddin while I do agree its arguable on the physical side, MM still has some broke psychic abilities, as he was able to mind control a bunch of white martians (who also have psychic powers) and was able to deactivate the mind of a god who was just as old and powerful as Dr Fate, so basically, M could control Piccolos mind, deactivate his brain, or just put him into an illusion, he can also manipulate his own density, allowing him to phase through almost anything, or become dense enough to take hits from darkseid, he also regenerated his whole body from just his arm, and if I remember correctly, piccolo cant even regenerate if his head was destroyed.
Listen, I'm very aware that everything you do is for attention, and that you have a strong bias towards piccolo, so dont go crying when I dont give you the attention that you want.

@Irfan Alddin Piccolo at best is multi galaxy level (as he could be above perfect cell in Super) while Martian Manhunter has actual feats that could make him multiversal level, his race was so dangerous in fact, that the Guardians of the universe had to implant a mental weakness of fire into their minds, but now that MM no longer has this weakness, hes pretty much unstoppable.
Everyone should take martian manhunter more seriously he's more powerful and stronger then superman.
Martian Manhunter is stronger by DC continuity logic. But at the same time, Superman is the peoples champ and is just more popular. He would almost never lose to someone like John.
even if the Fenrus bit of J'onzz is no longer canon, he is still strong enough to the point even superman once said J'onn was stronger Weakness to fire aside (apparently that wekness is both physical and mental one).
The only place he is currently receiving respect is in Supergirl. and ocasionally Justice League action. Apart of that he is like MIO/dissappeared form the whole DC UNIVERSE. He as only make one appearance in the non canon looney tunes one shot crossovers, and his suit made a cameo in the button, but since his limited series ended before the end of New 52, and apart of that one shot, NOTHING. Even the TMNT are appearing more in the DC Universe than J'onn this days

Ian R. Nava Huber That actually hit me where I live. I mean, J'onn is not my all-time favorite character, but I do have a lot of appreciation for the guy. Martian Manhunter is basically Superman (flying brick) mixed with Batman (detective). If there's a character in DC who gets to embody the entire Brave and bold theme, that's J'onn. Specially in team books, where he adds the 'team dad' element for synergy.
All in all, Martian Manhunter is a compelling character with a lot of individual and group value. Still annoyed they basically kicked him out of the League's origins. Thankfully, now he appeared in Metal, he will get some exposure.
Thank God Scott Snyder brought him back And will make him a main player in the "NO JUSTICE" pseudo event

Honestly this is a lot more unfair than Superman vs. Goku. Piccolo can't even touch J'onn if he doesn't want him to, and he could have ended the fight before it began by just shutting down his mind.
Well, if Superman's a boyscout, Martian Manhunter would be the Dalai Lama. He is the ultimate pacifist in the Justice League. I don't think he would have escalate to that level when he really needs to.
But yes, you're right, even with multiple minds inside Piccolo, J'onn would have put him to sleep the moment he perceived him as a massive threat.
Hell, even if Piccolo could somehow harm J'onn, being near death would cause Fernus to surface, and Fernus can beat Piccolo and Goku, and Vegeta, and a few other characters at once.

Honestly, I'm glad this ended with martian manhunter winning. As a huge dbz fan, piccolo is no where near as strong as some of the DC characters. Heck, even goku isn't. And with Martian being on a similar level as superman, no wonder piccolo lost. But the comedy in this is amazing, and the truce between piccolo and Martian at the end is very satisfying.
If this were screwattack however, they would have messed this up so badly with dbz fans being butthurt, and the whole community raging. But this ending was bittersweet 😊
I love seeing DBZ fans who can actually keep a level head about this stuff. Its not as rare as you might think, but good god does it get overshadowed by the few bad eggs.

its not that we are mad that DBZ characters loose in Death Battles. Its just that most times people get characters wrong. Such as 18 being able to drain KI. Goku's Speed, Super saiyan 4 power multiplication. ect.

@Irfan Alddin Batman has never beaten MMH. The only people who have beaten Martian Manhunter are Doomsday (during the Imperiex Arc), Darkseid, and Imperiex (off camera, in a non-canon timeline).
Plastic Man stalemated Fernus (Martian Manhunter's amped form) temporarily at Batman's suggestion of a way to combat Fernus, but Batman has never, will never, and can never beat Martian Manhunter or Fernus.

I really love how this was done. In the short time I’ve watched this series, I’ve noticed just how great the character interactions have gone and it’s really cool how characters we’ll sometimes just be cool with each other. It’s one of the things that separates this series from being just another Death Battle clone

Even though I am a DBZ fan I believe this fight is accurate. Martian Man hunter is nerarly on the same level as Super man and He can phase through anything. All he had to do was phase his hand through piccolo and rip his heart out. But I am still pissed off at Zaraki vs Akuma.. That was BS. They got his Bankai wrong and they just wanted to end the fight with Shun Goku Satsu. That was total BS

Martian Man Hunter can read minds, Piccolo relies on his mind a lot. Though I think depending on when, Piccolo should be a bit faster? DBZ is inconsistent with speeds sometimes, hard to tell. All in all I think Martian Man Hunter still stomps lol.
Nah, MMH is fast enough to punch barrey allen in the face. Barrey can react to something in the time it takes light to jump across two hydrogen attoms (can't remember if that's it or not, but something like that). Piccolo is nowhere near as fast as Manhunter.
Post-Crises Martian Mahunter is on Par with Post-Crises Superman, who Screw Attack used the feats of for their videos... though, yeah, their second video is full of bullshit and the fight between Superman and Goku in their first video should have been a lot more neck and neck once Goku went to Super Saiyan 3 and 4 than it was portrayed as being since both characters at that point are legit Star Level beings. Martian Manhunter also has far more advanced shape shifting capability and regen and has far greater feats of telepathy, so, even if Piccolo was star level by this point, John has enough body hax and mind hax to wind the day. I'll take keeping Vishnu asleep from destroying the universe and the multiverse than any feat of telepathy Piccolo has shown or been able to resist... at least pre DBS, but that's another argument for another day.

people have got to realize that comic book characters are usually stronger than animated charecters and movie charecters...y? because the author can just write whatever the fuck he wants about a charecter whilst not having to worry about how to potray that charecters power through animation. Thats y the movie and tv version of flash and superman are so much weaker than the comic book versions. Its because it would be impossible to animate a charecter thats too op. Where is in a comic book there is nothing stoping the writer from saying the flash is 9999999999999999999999999 x the speed of light or whatever. And fyi this isnt a butthurt comment i enjoyed the video, and the winner was correct

Phasing through Ki blasts basically assured victory. Not even people in the DBZ universe, who are galaxy if not universe busters, can PHASE through Ki blasts.
