- Peglin Part 85 - new Peglin update is here! Welcome to the scene a good chunk of new stuff, as well as some interesting balance changes. Quite a few of these are centered around bombs and red bombs, so let's make a cool red bomb build!

Btw, I don't know if you knew, but when the sash gets used (prevents first time you would take lethal damage) it turns into the torn sash which halves all incoming damage.

Fun fact about heavy hand for those that didn’t notice, activating pegs twice means it activates bombs twice blowing them up instantly so it was very good here
Sadly it didnt make foot add 2x as many bonus points or anything like that
but bombs dont count as pegs. in the game, it definitely distinguishes between the two in effects.
edit: actually, it DOES seem to detonate bombs in one hit, but it was also applying orb damage for hit bombs which i dont think is how they work normally.
I fully expect that to get patched out. As it stands, it basically has a free candle effect thrown in.

Orbsium has been doing this since it was introduced, and it also only says pegs, so I think it's meant to work that way.
4:58 because it took me a while to notice it too, the new tree mini boss doesn’t hit you twice, the knocked over one actually will hit you every three turns or so for double damage. The standing ones hits you for 4, but once tipped over they start flexing before it shoots you for 8. Love the series btw, got me back into pegging on the regular.
28:27 ik that choosing random orb is often the play here, but I think with the addition of "global buffs" from shock orbsorbers and collatorball damage, duplicating all orbs here would significantly buff your build.
Good thought! It also adds variance, in that you can end up with longer streaks of pebballs and feet and such if unlucky. You're right that duplicate all will buff his build's average and max effectiveness. I wonder if it might lower the win rate of the run despite that due to the increased likelihood of having a bad first 4-5 turns against QR.
Finally, like 30 parts later, he noticed that breaking shielded pegs created by the knights damages their shields.
(Also, the main reason Heavy Hand makes your orbs Dense is because initially, it didn't, and it was too easy for more experienced players to just intuit the aimer already anyways, hence why his navigation was scuffed in act 3)
it still does nothing its literally runic dome from slay the spire lol experienced players have the reticle memorized and dense just requires more time to get used to. I think the aimer shortening makes no sense because atp its just a skill issue

There's a cool synergy between orbouros and the back of orange pegs where the multiplier is applied before you fire the orb resulting in the damage only ever going up
10:40 I'd assume Constricting Chains is now less constricting - firing three orbs and aiming in four directions means you might be able to hit pegs in twelve different directions instead of four.
It would’ve been really fun with the red Bomb orb too
It’s massively buffed imo
it throws in 2 directions like a shotgun, less constricting in combat more constricting in navigation.

It's essentially orbosite rearction with the 4 direction lock. It kinda shotguns the orbs. Feels much more fun to use now!

until you get the elite fight at stage 3 where you are expected to shoot orbs upwards and cant reach any single peg
seeing infernorb show up in the shops several times while Tyler was complaining about not being able to detonate bombs fast enough, then not taking it, and even SKIPPING IT when it was forced upon him, was certainly something
@@dokchampa9324 heavy hand triggers bombs instantly on any orb so by the time the infernorb event came around infernorb already lost its advantage
edit: realised you meant the 3-choose-1 event and not the flames event lol my bad, it would have made sense to take it but might have been afraid of further self-damage (especially with how close the floor 2 boss fight was)
@@datdramaplant4792 I didn't know heavy hand did that, so it makes sense he didn't take the infernorb after that, but there were a lot of infernorbs offered to him after fights before that

All in all, you got pretty lucky with the heavy hand navigation. The upside down mini-boss on stage three can end in a softlock if you don't have orbs that ignore density/gravity.
But also, Constricting chains is SO good now. It's like a scattershot. It's fantastic for a lot of builds.
Can't wait to see how the red bombs end up doing.

Heavy Hand originally didn't add dense to all orbs, so it was INSANELY powerful. You don't need to aim that carefully when you basically get 3x damage or whatever it was. Plus it pairs nicely with a lot of things
In today's episode: Tyler gets really excited about feet
i love the bomb machine gun build, and it is even better on ballidin because of inherent ballwark. If anything, you missed some potential by skipping the present; if pegs are durable, that means bomb creating orbs can hit pegs multiple times adding to the transform counter, then the bombs themselves add in a hit or 2 (depending on instant detonation synergies), while the explosion throws the orb to another part of the board that can be equally untouched for even more bombs. Probably my longest machine gun was firing bombs for a good minute+ before the orb itself was fired, heck ive had a few that were still firing before the battle itself ended due to lack of targets. Painter boss is by far the best counter for the build, and even then, with enough bomb generation to 1 turn the boss, that doesnt much matter anymore.

When on a level with a black hole, if you go into it during navigation it will send you the direction of which side of the screen it's on, with black holes in the middle deciding randomly.
No dashed aim line PLUS all orbs are dense is insane combo, tyler can't navigate shit with that.
This is also, ironically, i think the best poison build tyler had..

The game refused to give tyler the last shops because it knew he was already too powerful. Great run like always
Two pointers:
With super boots, the chip will not deal any damage to you in combat (the event still will).
Duplicating all orbs would've been insane because you would've gotten two more orbsorbers, knocking red bomb self damage down to 1. Not like it mattered, though.

There is a mini boss that hard counters dense orbs so Marie it was a good thing that you missed the elites

@@danieldavid3766 on higher crusiballs, youre basically skrewed but the orbs/ relics that grant higher speed can mabye help mitigate the health loss

The hand also makes your orbs dense, which makes them harder to shoot
Constricting chains are really good with exactly bomb builds due to the bomb damage doesn't get nerfed.

i had both orbs that create bombs, the one that converts regular bombs to red bombs, the candle and the one that doubles starting bombs, needless to say, i killed both myself and the wall in a single turn. good game, would blow myself up again👍

For the things on the walls, I think it's a perspective trick; the wall isn't perpendicular to the camera but at an angle.
For Tyler, it's because the streak of failing navigations.
Btw that new 2 tree elite fight the defeated logs actually have a ranged attack that goes every other turn, so you didn't get hit twice the other log shot u

I also played a red bomb hvy build shortly after this patch came to mobile; and it was sm fun just seein sm bombs set off and watchin the enemies die to them whilst it wiped like half my HP (which was fine bcuz my potion ballts alongside corn took care of makin sure i healed to full after each shot xD)

I had a really good run the other day using spinfection new Constricting Chains on the Roundrel, but I eventually got Round Guard + Cheese and then the orboros event right before a shop, which I just couldn't pass up.

now that it deals six damage to you, perhaps it should be called the sixge instead.
Peglin should have more floors and perhaps even an infinite mode.

Pretty sure orbsorber always had this effect, it was just phrased differently.
it was much worse previously. It was -2 damage but only when using the orb. Now it's a global reduction so it just has to be owned to be in effect. Now if you have enough you take zero self damage from red bombs.
