    I have used this mask for 3 weeks now. I started with the Dreamweaver full face mask for the first week and I would probably have quit therapy if that was my only option. I can go 7 hours in the p10 without waking up. I am a side sleeper that rolls over and I have not had any problems with the p10. Feels so much better to me than all of that plastic on my face and head. So much lighter and less obtrusive.

    I’ve been wearing this P10:for almost three years. It’s lightweight, comfortable and easy to clean.

    I recently went to pick up my new CPAP and mask (AirFit P-10) from the Respiratory therapist, who ran me through all the ins and out of the machine and mask. And you know sometimes they’re crunched for time and you are kind of rushed through it. I pretty much remembered everything with the exception of the mask sling. Being that said I, appreciate you for making this video and demonstrating the ins & outs for the mask. You are definitely a lifesaver! 🖖🏽♥️

    I'm new (21 days in) to c-pap use with my Resmed A10 and am using the mask you demonstrate here. I have nothing to compare it to so take that into account. I love the way it fits/feels/works. I can see how a swivel might be nice, I hang mine over my bedpost and it comes straight down at me. The clear material of the tube is boingy enough that I don't notice any drag/pull. I am a stomach/side sleeper and have coped well with this mask. My leaks avg 17. I get up a lot at night still (though that is lessening) and it is easy to pull on and off half asleep. I agree that it may get too lose in time, depending on how the memory is in that cord over the head. My measurement for hats is 22 inches around forehead, for comparison sake. So far, so good. Will watch your video on the brand you said you like better. Maybe next time I get new mask, will try. Thanks for your helpful videos!

    He was right about the swivel. I do have a minor problem without it. It is very minor. as for the elastic stretching. you can get clips for it. but the elastic part occasionally slips out of the clip... I did figure a way to solve that problem. cut a pencil to a small piece approximately 1/4 inch place it between the clip an elastic and pull to tighten it. It will make the elastic fit tighter and will not slip out of the clip.
    The mask is the lightest one that I ever had sometimes I have to touch my face to see if it is on me. very easy to sleep with. Does not blow a lot of air out of the exhaust so my wife doesn't wake up with the wind. Definitely would recommend it. I have the Swift FX and the P10 both great masks.

    I use this headstrap. I like it cuz it's comfy, but you're right about it needing some small adjustments. I love that it hardly leaks and I feel 0 air breezing on my face which is so important for my sleep and since I'm a side sleeper it works pretty well but it's only my 2 type I've ever used.

    I have been using the Resmed P10 for over a year and love it. Very lightweight and comfortable, much better than the
    Philips Respironics ComfortGel Blue nasal mask with big headgear that I used for years.

    I love the mask; been using it for 9 months. Used the Swift LT for 7 years and this is much better. I never tried the FX. I get zero leaking with the P10. The lack of swivel is not an issue since the machine hose has a swivel and it is only a few inches away. Based on my experience of using the mask, I can think of no ways to improve it.

  • @pop-popmoose5359

    I was looking at this mask and hadn't noticed the lack of swivel. I had one mask years ago without a swivel and could not stand the missing swivel. I'm so glad you pointed that out. I was concerned about the missing size adjustments. I'm using nasal pillows because everything else leaks into my eyes and having sever eye issues, any eye leak is major. I may have to use something for a possible mouth leak.

    Hi
    Tried a number of different mask during my cpap trial period with the sleep clinic. This one was my preferred mask. Can ever roll onto my face and I stay asleep. Problem is the head strap stretches and it does stay fitted in place when it is loose. Cpap clinic showed me how to fix it. Fold a small piece of the strap over and stitch it down with a few hand-sewn stitches. This shortens the strap about half-an-inch. When it starts to loosen again, do the same on the other side. Works for me.

    • @IanHudsonih
      @IanHudsonih 8 лет назад +1

      Regarding the strap stretching - All you do is wet the strap thoroughly and let it dry. It will go back to original size. My CPAP folks told me it's like jeans. You wear em a few days, they stretch. You wash them, and they snug up.
      They also show that in their product video.

    adding a swivel would add to the weight. this is my favorite mask thus far, in part to the lack of weight, and the diffuser is pretty good and doesnt bother my wife.

    I have a love/hate relationship with the p10. I love it because it is so light and minimal.
    I hate it because I cannot figure out what it takes to have it not leak.
    Some nights it leaks like crazy, other nights it seals well.
    It is uncomfortable every night after an hour or so, as it irritates the inside of my nostrils.
    I have tried all three sizes. I have tried moving the two thin straps around, with the upper one over the top of my head and the lower one down by my neck, and with the two straps together over the biggest part of my head. No matter what I do with them, they end up moving around and going into whatever arrangement they want, not what I set them at.
    I am ready to move on and ordered an N20 from Jason's lightly used stock.

    • @Freecpapadvice

      It's just in the nature of the mask. Nasal pillows are easy to get on, and easy to get off......even when you are sleeping. It's the tradeoff of a minimalistic mask.
      If you still want that minimalist feel, then I would suggest the Dreamwear. (Not the one with nasal pillows though, the one that cradles under your nose.)

    This is the only mask I could tolerate well enough to try. I love that there's nothing to it. If I had an adjustable head band I would fidget with it endlessly. I find this comfortable, extremely quiet, and easy to get a seal. After watching your videos on the Dreamwear though, I'm tempted to try that because it looks as though it's more side sleeper friendly, which the P10, at least so far for me, is not.

    • @Freecpapadvice

      Sounds like the Dreamwear would work for you. Really not much to it. The Swift FX Nano is another one of my favorites. Then there is the prototype I tried (3 most recent videos...3rd sums up best.) that has a lot of promise if it makes it to market. Bleep Sleep Dreamport.

    I've had mine for about 4 months now and it started out leak free pretty much. Now it leaks a lot. Used to be silent at night, now all my wife hears is air leaks and noise. My points rating went from 18/20 to 4/20 or lower for leakage. I completely agree it needs a little bit of a tightening option. I have a big head and have probably stretched it out...also my pressure is 15, so it's pretty high for a nasal pillow mask. I was so happy with it the first month or so though...probably just going to buy a new strap and see if that resolves the problem.

    I have a hunch the swivel was omitted on the P10 to keep the weight down to a minimum. Personally, I don't mind the loss of the swivel, since the new lightweight hose seems pretty easy to move. So far, I'm lovin' the P10!

    I use the P10 and I have almost the opposite problem. I have a huge melon so the lack of adjustment makes mine a tad bit too tight. It pushes up on my nose more than I would like. It gets kinda sore after a few hours. That’s the #1 reason who I catch myself taking it off during the night.

    There is also a little clip you can add when the elastic starts to stretch a bit.
    My only issue is the straps only last a few months before having to buy a new one....
    otherwise i like the P10

    Also have to disagree. After trying the nuance and pilairo I got to use the p10. What an amazing mask! I find it odd that you say headgear is it's weakeness while I found it to be simple, minimalist and very effective. Also the diffuse air exhaust helps your partner sleep without a constant hard blow of air on them, When I asked my clinic why they didn't give me the p10 first I was told that it's the one everyone picks, and they have a hard time keeping them in stock. So I love your videos and advice, but on this one I believe you got it wrong.

    • @Freecpapadvice
      @Freecpapadvice  9 лет назад +6

      Stephane Larochelle I'm glad it works for you Stephane. The headgear is extremely easy for it, but difficult for a lot of patients to get adjusted properly. That's not as big a deal as the lack of a swivel elbow. The tubing just shoots out of it, so if the tubing gets moved the mask goes along for the ride. It's odd since all of their other masks have this swivel elbow. We agree on the diffuser, it's very nice. I'd love to see them add a swivel elbow to this along with two headgears included. One small and one large.

      For me, the P10 headgear worked much better than the Swift FX headgear. No leaks whatsoever with the P10, and weekly washing kept it in shape for 7 months before I decided to get new headgear that just looked better instead of frayed. The old P10 headgear was still working fine at that point. As far as the swivel, the P10 hose is so flexible that it does not pull the mask the way that the Swift FX does, with its awkward swivel. I'll take the flexible hose over a swivel any day.

Some mash and mess up your hair, where you have to restyle every day and/or women's long hair cause the strapping to slide around a lot more than would on men. My problem with the new one is the fit. I am switching to the small nose fitting tonight because I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in 3 nights. I switched because I was having a cyst removed from my forehead and I needed the area to be free for 6 weeks. I am not liking the P10 so far but I cannot sleep without the Cpap. Any suggestions? You'd have to try one for yourself. Some people LOVE nasal pillow masks. I personally don't like them and feel they're more trouble than they're worth. That's just my opinion.
      I think it's good to have a Full Face Mask as a backup for those times you're sick. If you always use a Full Face mask then it's still a good idea to have a backup mask. :^) Anytime you have a mouth leak you would be losing the therapy effect. Anything that interrupts the splinting of your airway.

      +djterence I like it, but the lack of swivel for me makes it pull all over the place. Doesn't bother some people, but it bothers me. I think that if you use a hose holder or have it hung over a headboard really helps.

      Agreed, it's one thing i do love about my Eson as I can swivel the hose any direction i like :D

    Hey I love this mask but when ever I put this mask on I cannot exhale properly I feel I have to push the air out of my lungs is there a solution for that? Any help would be great.

      Go back to the outfit who gave you the prescription. I got an 22/18 prescription initially because my AHI test was 38.4.
      I recently had them lower the setting to 22/14 and now is easier to exhale.

      I have that problem too at first, I have to exhale thru my lungs a few times then I get comfy, there are occasional times when it seems like I'm getting too much air and I have to throw off my mask.

    What’s the best way to get rid of the dry nose feeling ?

    • @Freecpapadvice
      @Freecpapadvice  5 лет назад

      Smart ass answer: Dip your nose in a tub of butter. Real answer: use heated humidity or an aloe vera nasal spray. There is a good product by a company called Ayrs...or something like that. I can't be bothered to look it up now because my Clash of Clans troops are ready now.

    I’ve been using one for a few days and it’s made the inside of my nose raw. Does that go away after a while?

    • @Freecpapadvice

      Use a little Lansinoh (aka "nipple butter") as a barrier for the inside of your nose. You'll get to the point where you don't need it, but for now your skin isn't liking the extra friction.

      Swift FX Nano is probably my favorite now. I like the feel of the Dreamwear too, but the strap over my head sometimes starts to annoy me. Then there is the AirFit N20 which is also very solid. Favorite would be Swift FX Nano though.

    Yes, it's not adjustable, but mine have been perfect! So easy and SO much better than Respironics! They make cheap equipment, which breaks too easily. Their version of this stinks, because the nasal pillows don't stay in the diffuser very well. ResMed is SO much better!

    This thing kills my nose. The inner part. And I definitely don't have it as tight as this guy.

    Good video but the uh, uh, uh, I cannot stand. Does this device cause your throat and mouth to get dry?

    • @Freecpapadvice
      @Freecpapadvice  6 лет назад +1

      I’m.......uh.....uh.....sorry about that! 😉. The device itself doesn’t cause dry mouth. A mouth leak with it will. I have a couple videos that addresses this with solutions. In my channel, search “Puffy Eyes Throwing Mask” and it will come up.

    i'd love to know if there's an actual conspiracy to not have any RUclips video out there demonstrate attaching this to the CPAP.

    I think this is the mask for me. Fuck facial masks. They break so easily and theyre too big for my head. I cant wait to buy this p10 mask!

    Most people who try the P10 keep it. This is your first review where I think you are completely wrong...

      WarpDemon DCUO When given a choice in the lab it's not the first one selected in my experience. It's mostly because of the headgear. I just think other nasal pillow masks are designed better for the most number of people....Aloha, Nuance Pro, Pilairo.....
      I'm not speaking to whether or not people keep it when it's given to them.

    • @ambercamp7659

      This is my go-to mask. The Nuance headgear was complete junk in comparison, I couldn't make a single night that it didn't get dislodged multiple times. The Nuance Pro headgear was too stiff for me to sleep comfortably on my side. The Dreamwear nasal cushion and pillows just leak like crazy for me. The P10 just works. No leaks, stays put, and I've been using it for a while now and have had no problem with the headgear stretching.
