      There was zero closure to the characters we've invested in. Smith was just discarded as the antagonist and all his ambiguity and moral struggles were just disregarded. Smith bad man because Nazis. All that power and emotion when seeing the life he could have... An amazing plot device just thrown away, I'm guessing because the creators didn't have the balls to make a nazi a human. Fyi, nazis were humans just like you and me. Any one of us can be corrupted and have our ideals warped, that was the whole point of Smith's arc. Just wasted. Let's not forget the self righteous daughter of the Reich who was raised by this ideology but oh, how could you kill all those people again because scared writing. Don't piss off the snowflakes by showing that human nature and morals are dictated by society. But that is in total contrast to the current leftist ideology. They want a world like this but replace NAZI with WOKE, Gestapo with Antifa, and jews and non-arians with sys-gender white men.

      What aspect about it gave you goose bumps? For me I laughed at the ridiculousness of the writing of it. Even if the United States tries to go back as what's implied, Germany controls 2/3rds of the world in this timeline. It'd take nothing with the amount of manpower at their disposal to invade the states again. That's not including what they could do with blocking all trade into the United States in the long run to starve them out, a country of that size and population wouldn't be able to last being so isolated from the rest of the world. It's absolutely mind-numbing how poorly written the last two seasons are.

They looked at the bcr as savages who ended up crippling them, You also have to consider the reich is dealing with resistence on a massive scale ALL OVER now, Plus the video they broadcast called for people to stand up even just in their own minds, They have reach now, within the reich itself, The riech is full of american sleeper agents that do no know they are sleepers because all it takes is the usa spirit to come back and they fight back, in that way, they most definitly will not just be squashed like a bug, there is a whole bunch of variables now, too many to predict the end result.

    It´s such a powerful and emotional show I just really loved this 10/10. The charcaters, the story, the behinds, the twists and everything else about it made it so strong and made me really jump in this world. I felt like I was a part about the show and when horror happened I felt the emotion through my whole body. Season 4 was the most emotional season in the entire show when we got to see what happened with Johns brother or when John saw his dead child Thomas in the alt-world. Just wow!

    In episode 7 of Season 4 it was nice to finally see Hirohito - though I think he could have had a bigger role that tells his thought process behind the choice to withdraw forces from the Japanese Pacific States.

    Reading the comments I think this show achieved its goal very well.
    We all love Smith, however he is presenting the most heinous crimes. The show did very well to make us forget those things and care about the character very much. Much like what happens in real life with people that start following extremists. Now that is in no way comparable to loving a character on a show, but still though...
    Anyway, my personal favorite was Kido. The personal struggle he went through was amazing, his whole presentation was amazing. Loved every second with him on screen, extremely satisfying to watch.
    Juliana and Wyatt were the most boring to me. Very one dimensional and straight to the point. No real conflictions, no ups and downs and very littel character progression.
    BCR was most boring of all though, should not have been in the final season. Didnt care one bit for them.

  • @kevinpunzalan7681

    The final episode rushed to tie up all the loose ends, but it did deliver a very important payoff: Helen's character and her reckoning with Jennifer is perhaps the most powerful scene in the entire series, because it speaks from beyond the fictional universe at each of us as individuals: Will we all have the courage to stand up for what is right when we are tested, or do we make the compromises they made until they fail to recognize themselves afterwards?
    That said, Chelah Horsdal, Rufus Sewell, and Joel de la Fuente really made this series for me. They became their characters so completely that I was shocked when I watched this interview and found each of them, especially Joel, almost unrecognizable in real life!

    I didn’t view the BCR as the good guys. And ill admit that the show’s glorification of a group of “reverse”-racist rebels who identify as communist was kind of dangerous for ignorant audience.

    • @SIGSEGV1337
      @SIGSEGV1337 4 года назад

      Is this a joke? The whole point was that they were racist as a defense mechanism, that's not a glorification it's an understandable reaction, in the same way after the Japanese Pacific States collapsed there were white vigilantes looking to kill 'the nips'.

    • @Adeus1
      @Adeus1 4 года назад +14

      Did not see a reverse racist perspective on their ends. Do you you see Holocaust survivors' grievances as reverse racism? If you happen to feel uncomfortable listening to the reality of their oppression, good! That's what it is meant to do. Have the uncomfortable dialogue on the effects of racism to make sure history does not repeat itself.

    • @emsleywyatt3400
      @emsleywyatt3400 4 года назад +7

      International Communism crafted its appeal to racial/ethnic minorities who, even under the best of circumstances, are disaffected. You're also talking about a world that never had our civil rights movement, so the status of black Americans would have been "frozen" at a nineteen-forties level at best or regressed as happened in the show.

    • @emsleywyatt3400
      @emsleywyatt3400 4 года назад +3

      @Art and Music Fine people on both sides, I'm sure.

    • @Luey_Luey
      @Luey_Luey 4 года назад

      The BCR would've been much more interesting if they had been introduced at the start of the show or otherwise much earlier on. It's pretty clear that they were thrown in at the very end to quickly toss a bone to modern progressive/liberal movements who want every show to be about the empowerment of minorities, but the overall concept of an exclusively-black resistance movement is a great way to show very valid questions about how their status would be in such a world. The BCR clearly repudiated the form of the US that we are most familiar with because it was snuffed out before the civil rights movement could take swing, and that's a perfectly valid way of thinking for such people in such a situation
      Though the show sways the viewer to sympathize with them fairly heavily, I took their initial takeover as just another way in which the uncertainty of the post-axis-occupation future is shown
      It's also important to note that they seem to repudiate their reverse-racist beliefs at the end of the season when white defectors from the American Reich arrive to fight for the BCR; in their TV broadcast across America they explicitly say that 'if you are watching this you are already a citizen' of their new America

      But he just comitted suicide after his wife betrayed him....
      And i also dissapointed with his daughters, i mean the little one is nazi, and the elder one is not understanding her parents.
      All of them are trash except for Thomas!
      Thomas is the best character for me. In any universe he is smart, strong willed guy, who has right moral compas. In this universe he was a nazi though, but he did everything what he believed in till the very end.
      To conclude i want to say i do not believe in multiverse:)

    I love the show but personally hate the ending. I didn’t really understand too much more and I feel like the show writers really missed out on seeing Smith completely “turn to the dark side” per say. We could’ve seen him completely turn on his family who now (for the most part) hate him and I think the show really could have capitalized on Smith being this dark energy, turning on everything he fought to protect because they no longer appreciate his sacrifice, and then, when we see his ark truly fall, we get that scene where he kills himself in front of Juliana and have his death be even more well earned and satisfying.
